As a listed firm in the 'Nearby Lawyers' category, they aim to provide accessible and effective legal counsel to the local community. Understanding the environment, services, and features of a law firm is crucial when making important decisions about legal representation.

Professional and Accessible Office Environment:

Skoubye Nielson & Johansen, LLC, operates from Suite 200 at 999 E Murray Holladay Rd in Millcreek. This location within a multi-tenant professional building suggests a standard office environment equipped to handle client consultations, legal work, and administrative functions. The suite number indicates a dedicated and likely private space for the firm's operations. While specific details about the office's ambiance or unique features are not mentioned in the provided reviews, clients can generally expect a professional setting suitable for discussing confidential legal matters. The Murray Holladay Road address is likely easily accessible for individuals in Millcreek and neighboring areas, potentially offering convenient parking and access via major transportation routes.

The fact that the firm offers a free initial consultation, as mentioned in one review, suggests a client-friendly approach to engagement, allowing potential clients to discuss their needs and understand how the firm might assist them in a comfortable and no-obligation setting.

Potential Legal Services Offered:

Based on the limited information from the client reviews, Skoubye Nielson & Johansen, LLC, appears to offer services in areas such as estate planning (specifically trusts and wills), LLC formation, and probate. One review mentions a positive experience with "Jeff" from the firm assisting with a father's estate and speeding up the process due to his condition. This indicates expertise in estate administration and a willingness to be accommodating to client needs. The same review also notes assistance with completing an "important document," likely referring to a will or other estate planning instrument.

However, another review details a less positive experience regarding the setup of an LLC, where the client reported a significant delay and lack of follow-through despite an initial helpful consultation. This suggests that while the firm may offer services in business formation, their execution in this particular case did not meet the client's expectations, especially concerning time sensitivity.

Given these points, Skoubye Nielson & Johansen, LLC, likely provides services in the following areas, though the consistency of service may vary:

  • Estate Planning: Including the creation of trusts and wills to manage assets and plan for the future.
  • Probate and Estate Administration: Guiding executors through the legal process of administering a deceased person's estate.
  • Business Law: Potentially including the formation of Limited Liability Companies (LLCs) and other business-related legal services.

To obtain a comprehensive understanding of all the legal services offered by Skoubye Nielson & Johansen, LLC, it is crucial to contact their office directly at (801) 365-1030 or +1 801-365-1030. This will allow potential clients to inquire about their specific legal needs and determine if the firm's expertise aligns with those requirements.

Features of the Firm: Responsiveness and Client Care:

One notable feature highlighted in a positive review is the firm's responsiveness and client care, particularly in sensitive situations. The attorney, identified as "Jeff," is commended for helping to expedite the estate process due to the father's condition. Additionally, the act of personally walking the client and their father to the parking lot and assisting with mobility demonstrates a level of care and personal attention that goes beyond typical legal service. This suggests that at least some members of the firm prioritize client well-being and are willing to provide considerate assistance.

However, the contrasting negative review points to potential inconsistencies in the firm's service delivery, particularly concerning follow-through and communication regarding business-related matters. While an apology was offered, the experience of being "ghosted" for a significant period and the failure to initiate the LLC setup raise concerns about reliability and timely execution in all areas of their practice.

Therefore, while Skoubye Nielson & Johansen, LLC, may exhibit positive traits such as offering free initial consultations and providing compassionate service in certain areas like estate administration, potential clients should also be aware of the reported issues with follow-through and communication in other areas, such as business formation.

Promotional Information and Considerations:

Skoubye Nielson & Johansen, LLC, located in a convenient area of Millcreek, offers local legal services with the benefit of a free initial consultation for discussing trusts and LLC formation. For individuals needing assistance with estate planning and probate, the positive review suggests a compassionate and efficient approach, with a willingness to go the extra mile for clients in need. The firm's responsiveness in expediting processes and providing personal assistance can be a significant advantage during challenging times.

However, potential clients seeking services, particularly those with time-sensitive needs, should consider the experience of the client who reported significant delays and a lack of follow-through regarding LLC formation. While this may have been an isolated incident, it underscores the importance of clear communication and setting realistic expectations when engaging their services.

I worked with an attorney from this firm. Initially they were very helpful with a free consultation to discuss a trust and setting up an LLC. It went downhill from there. Although I received an apology from the attorney, I was ghosted for the better part of four weeks and they never started the process of setting up the LLC for me. I understand the reasons given for their failure to follow through on the LLC, but I can’t recommend them for anything that needs to be done and has time restraints.

Jeff helped us with my dad's estate and even sped up the process cause of his condition. Also walked us out to the parking lot, helping him get into the truck while I put the wheelchair away. 👍

This office is very overpriced for the mediocre work they do. They charge you a large 3k retainer fee, and you have to replenish the retainer monthly. Their fresh, just graduated attorneys charge double the retainer and as much as my last attorney with 20+ years experience. They are obviously money hungry, and after not working with them for a year and a half, I get a random email from my attorney asking if I want to continue using her for a small monthly fee, or withdraw as counsel and close out my file. I was not told their would be a charge for closing my file and withdrawing as counsel, but I got a bill for $159 this month. They're not working for you, they're working to find ways to charge you a fee for every little thing they do and don't do, even a year and a half later. My ex's attorney stopped working for him a year ago, so I don't even know who they're going to send a notice of withdrawal to, yet I'm getting charged for that too. I don't recommend this office and will never use their services again. I hope it was worth the $159 to lose a client, because I know I'll be needing an attorney again in the near future. Another sad review for a sad office!

I was referred to Benton at this office by another lawyers office. After a consultation ($150) he implicated he was sure we’d be fine to move forward as this was the second time we had spoken with him our case. I paid the retainer and processing fee (additional $60 fee for using a card) the next day. A few days later I received an email that after him doing research we could contact another law office but he was unable to find much that supported our claim and he’d refund our retainer minus the processing fee. As this was now the third time we spoke I felt he could have been more forthcoming with information and done his research prior to claiming we would be good to proceed “we have a case”, putting people out more money when they are already out of a job is shady business!! Do your research before using this guy!

Do not under any circumstances work with David Nielson. He is the most unethical lawyer I have ever come across. He intentionally avoids returning phone calls to settle your case so that he can keep charging the client. I personally left messages and emailed him to attempt to resolve an issue and he refused to reach out so that he could continue charging. Do not trust him under any circumstances.
