Reviews

  • My experience with Shimanovsky & Moscardini, LLP has been an amazing one. The attorney assigned to my case in July 2024 Mr. Jeffery Mashni was very professional, understanding and really supported me during one of the most life changing experiences in my life when I had to seek legal action against my former insurance company. The legal action took about 3 weeks to resolve which I won the settlement. I would recommend this firm.
  • They are the reps for LegalShield in the Chicagoland area. I was a customer for about 22 years. Up until now, before they were bought out, I would give them a grade of B or B+; but over the past recent years, their customer service in legal service has been going downhill. I also do not appreciate their own ethical tactics and poor responsiveness to my concerns. I've been giving them deservingly very bad reviews recently regarding the help that I've been receiving. Right now, I could write a disertatation of bad experiences that I have had to deal with. Twice, they raise my rates without telling me neither by email or by letter. I called them, and they claimed that they did. Then, I find out that all of a sudden, they do not give advice for non-nor-profit organizations. Then there was one situation where I asked for advice; and for all that, I knew the way they were supposed to operate. They would give you 3 lawyers for 3 different opinions. The first one gave me a certain advice. The second one also from their local law firm gave me opposite advice, and the third third one that they contracted out said he could not give me proper advice cause he was not the correct lawyer to ask; when I complained about it, they would not give me another third lawyer. Then they started saying that there are all different kinds of memberships and special one for business which was never before. The vast majority of legal shield members get it so that they can get business advice. Also, I was basically told that I was a liar, and I have notes on this as to when and who told me these things. They gave me the runaround. And then last week they sent me an email. The first one that I ever received from them from corporate telling me that they're ceasing my membership. Also, recently, they had one of their lawyers to help me with some issue. She had me go through many, many things. I spent a lot of time in weeks of gathering information to governor for her. Finally, after a month, what she instructed me to do apparently did not work. Then she gave me advice, which basically put me back at square one. I had to hire another lawyer to get the situation resolved. Then today, I received a letter saying that "based on the circumstances in information we have, we will not be able to continue provide your legal plan benefits and service under your legalsheild membership pursuant to general provision (a alphabetic letter)." The letter told me to call them if I had any questions. Unsurprisingly, they not only refuse to tell me what this all means, but they won't even tell me their own meaning of their contract of what this general provision was (Please note that this is the first written correspondence that I ever received from LegalShield since they were bought out, and that was years ago). I've been with them about 22 years, and they dumped me like a pile of dirt out of the blue without any reason specific and no recourse. There was even a time that the traffic lawyer never showed up for court, and I had the plea guilty for traffic violation, and I received no recompense for their ineptitude. This has to be one of the most disgraceful, incompetent organizations that have ever had to deal with in my entire life. They take no responsibility for their terrible treatment of me. I do not trust them, and you should not trust them either! Remember, this can happen to you too!

  • I've completed four residential real estate transactions with this firm over the years and each one went as perfectly as I could have hoped. No glitches, no dropped balls -- everything smooth as silk. I would not hesitate to use them again.

  • Between my wife, my daughters, and myself, we've utilized their services numerous times over the past 14 years. There have been a handful of situations that did not go our way, but in each of those, we knew what to expect because they had explained our rights and options in advance, so no surprises. They have saved me thousands of dollars. I love this firm!

  • Was recommended to this firm to look over a LOI. Very rude paralegal or customer service rep. Spoke to a very rude snarky attorney, apparently we bugged her regarding a LOI that was confirmed for a phone consultation today. Did not answer any questions due to an apparent mix up on the legal name that was shown that it was not out mistake.

Based on available information, Shimanovsky & Moscardini, LLP appears to be a firm with a presence in the Chicagoland area, offering legal services to individuals and potentially businesses. To provide a comprehensive overview, we will delve into aspects such as their environment, services, features, and any available promotional information gleaned from online sources, particularly customer reviews.

Environment and Location:

Situated in Suite 1405 of 205 W Randolph St, Chicago, IL 60606, Shimanovsky & Moscardini, LLP operates from a central location within the city. This address suggests a professional office environment, likely within a multi-tenant building common in downtown Chicago. The accessibility of this location could be a significant advantage for local users seeking in-person consultations and legal support. Being in a well-connected area, it is likely easily reachable by public transportation and has access to various amenities.

While specific details about the firm's office ambiance are not publicly available, law firms generally strive to create a professional and confidential environment for client meetings and sensitive discussions. Clients can likely expect private consultation rooms and a reception area to manage appointments and inquiries.

Services Offered:

The available information provides some insights into the services offered by Shimanovsky & Moscardini, LLP. One customer review explicitly mentions that they were represented by Mr. Jeffery Mashni for a legal action against an insurance company, which resulted in a successful settlement within approximately three weeks. This suggests that the firm handles cases related to insurance disputes and potentially other areas of civil litigation. The positive experience highlighted in this review indicates proficiency in handling such matters and providing effective legal support to clients facing challenging situations.

Furthermore, the reviews mention the firm's previous association with LegalShield in the Chicagoland area. LegalShield is known for providing a range of legal services through a membership-based model, often covering areas like family law, traffic violations, estate planning, and business consultations. This historical connection suggests that Shimanovsky & Moscardini, LLP may have experience across a diverse range of legal fields, catering to the needs of individuals and potentially small businesses who were part of the LegalShield network.

However, it is crucial to note the contrasting experiences shared in another detailed review. This long-term customer of LegalShield, who interacted with Shimanovsky & Moscardini, LLP as part of that membership, expressed significant dissatisfaction with the services received in recent years. The issues raised include declining customer service, questionable ethical tactics, poor responsiveness, and concerns about billing practices. Specific grievances include alleged unannounced rate increases, changes in service offerings (e.g., no longer providing advice for non-profit organizations), inconsistent legal advice from different lawyers within the firm's network, and difficulties in resolving service-related complaints. The reviewer also mentioned a specific instance where a traffic lawyer allegedly failed to appear in court, leading to a guilty plea, and a situation where advice from a lawyer led to a setback in resolving an issue, ultimately requiring the client to hire external counsel.

The termination of the reviewer's LegalShield membership without a clear explanation further adds to the negative feedback. While this experience is within the context of a LegalShield membership, it reflects on the service delivery and communication practices of Shimanovsky & Moscardini, LLP as a provider within that network.

Considering these contrasting viewpoints, it is essential for potential clients to inquire specifically about the firm's current areas of practice and their approach to client service outside of the LegalShield framework, if applicable. The positive review regarding the insurance claim suggests competence in certain litigation matters, while the detailed negative review raises concerns about consistency and client communication.

Features and Approach:

Based on the positive review, a notable feature of Shimanovsky & Moscardini, LLP appears to be the professionalism and understanding demonstrated by their attorneys, particularly Mr. Jeffery Mashni. The reviewer highlighted his supportive approach during a stressful legal experience and the efficient resolution of the case. This suggests that the firm may prioritize client communication and strive for effective outcomes.

However, the negative review paints a different picture, indicating potential issues with responsiveness, consistency in advice, and transparency in communication, at least within the context of their LegalShield interactions. The mention of being given the "runaround" and feeling like a "liar" suggests a lack of empathy and poor client relations in that particular instance. The alleged failure of a traffic lawyer to appear in court points to potential issues with professional diligence.

It is important to consider that these are individual experiences, and the overall features and approach of the firm may vary depending on the specific case and attorney involved. Potential clients should seek to understand the firm's client communication protocols, the experience and specialization of the attorney assigned to their case, and their overall approach to legal representation.

Promotional Information:

The provided information does not contain explicit promotional material from Shimanovsky & Moscardini, LLP. The details are primarily derived from a positive customer testimonial and a lengthy negative review detailing experiences within the LegalShield context. Therefore, there is no readily available information regarding specific marketing campaigns, special offers, or a comprehensive list of all practice areas directly from the firm itself within this data.

Local users interested in learning more about Shimanovsky & Moscardini, LLP are encouraged to contact the firm directly at the provided phone number or visit their office location. They may also wish to consult other online resources, such as legal directories and review platforms, to gather a broader range of perspectives on the firm's services and reputation. Conclusion:

Shimanovsky & Moscardini, LLP is a Chicago-based law firm with a physical office located at 205 W Randolph St Suite 1405. Based on the available customer reviews, experiences appear to vary. One client reported a positive outcome in an insurance dispute, highlighting the professionalism and support of their attorney. Conversely, another long-term LegalShield member expressed significant dissatisfaction with the firm's services in recent years, citing issues with customer service, communication, and ethical practices. This mixed feedback underscores the importance for potential clients to conduct their own due diligence, inquire about the firm's current practice areas and client service standards, and seek consultations to determine if Shimanovsky & Moscardini, LLP is the right fit for their legal needs in the Chicago area.
