Online reviews can offer valuable insights into a lawyer's professionalism, effectiveness, and client care. Examining the available feedback provides a balanced perspective for potential clients seeking legal representation.
One review from a client named Nicole paints a highly positive picture of Robert Scherzer. Nicole describes him as "THE best! Kind, attentive, and fights hard!" Her testimonial highlights his dedication and empathy during a challenging divorce case, which she noted was exceptionally complex. She emphasizes his supportive nature, stating that his "advice and compassion and empathy got me through it." Furthermore, Nicole indicates that the final outcome of her case exceeded expectations due to Robert Scherzer's hard work and dedication. Her high regard for him extends beyond a professional relationship, as she mentions, "If he were not my attorney, he would be my friend." Nicole also commends his legal assistant, Kelli, referring to them collectively as "Team Scherzer," suggesting a well-coordinated and supportive office environment.
Conversely, another review from a client named Richard Corbett presents a starkly different experience. Richard describes Robert Scherzer as the "worst employee ever" and the "most horrible person I can imagine hiring" for legal representation. His critique focuses on several aspects of his experience, including allegations of Robert Scherzer not being attentive in court ("he sleeps all day in court") and failing to follow his client's directions regarding questioning during a custody hearing. Richard also recounts that despite an initial optimistic assessment of his chances of success (75 to 85%), he ultimately lost his case. He further expresses concerns about potential exposure to the opposing party's attorney fees and states that he ultimately terminated Robert Scherzer's services and represented himself in a subsequent hearing regarding these fees. Richard believes he was "infinitely more convincing" in his self-representation. He shares a particularly poignant anecdote where his 90-year-old mother described Robert Scherzer's performance with the single word "PANIC," a sentiment with which Richard strongly agrees. Finally, Richard accuses Robert Scherzer of "excessive billing" for what he perceived as "ridiculously poor services," concluding with a "No stars!" rating.
These contrasting reviews highlight the subjective nature of client experiences and the importance of considering multiple perspectives when choosing a legal representative. While Nicole's experience underscores Robert Scherzer's dedication, empathy, and effectiveness in at least one complex case, Richard's account raises serious concerns about his attentiveness, adherence to client direction, and overall performance in another legal matter.
Potential clients should consider these reviews as part of their due diligence process. It is advisable to perhaps seek further information or clarification based on the specific legal needs and the nature of the case. The environment of Scherzer Strom's office, located in the downtown area at 1300 SW 6th Ave #300, likely offers a professional setting conducive to legal consultations and work. Being situated in a central business district suggests accessibility and proximity to courts and other legal resources in Portland.
While the provided information does not explicitly detail the specific services offered by Scherzer Strom, the positive review from Nicole indicates experience in divorce and potentially complex family law cases, including custody matters. The negative review also pertains to a custody hearing, suggesting that family law may be one area of their practice. To gain a clearer understanding of the full scope of Scherzer Strom's legal services, including other potential areas of expertise such as business law, estate planning, or other legal domains, interested individuals are encouraged to contact their office directly.
Features that might be associated with Scherzer Strom, based on the positive review, include a client-focused approach, attentiveness to detail, strong advocacy ("fights hard"), and empathetic support. The mention of "Team Scherzer" suggests a collaborative and organized office environment where the legal assistant plays a supportive role in client service. However, the negative review raises concerns about communication, attentiveness in court, and the quality of representation in at least one instance.
Regarding promotional information, none is explicitly provided in the given text. However, the positive testimonial from Nicole serves as an unsolicited endorsement, highlighting the positive impact Robert Scherzer had on her difficult situation. Potential clients might find this firsthand account compelling. Conversely, the negative review serves as a cautionary tale, emphasizing the importance of thorough research and alignment between a client's needs and a lawyer's capabilities.
In conclusion, Scherzer Strom, located in Portland, Oregon, offers legal services to the local community. Reviews from past clients present a mixed picture. One client praises Robert Scherzer for his dedication, empathy, and positive results in a complex divorce case, while another expresses significant dissatisfaction with his attentiveness, representation, and billing practices in a custody matter. Prospective clients in the 'Nearby Lawyers' category are encouraged to consider these varying experiences, further investigate Scherzer Strom's specific areas of expertise, and directly communicate their legal needs to determine if their services align with their individual requirements. Robert is THE best! Kind, attentive, and fights hard! I would never wish divorce upon anyone, but if you find yourself in that awful situation, Robert Scherzer is who you want in your corner! I could go into great detail about my complicated case, which there was only one other case that was parallel to it in the entire country. His advice and compassion and empathy got me through it . And the end result was better than expected because of his hard work and dedication. If he were not my attorney, he would be my friend. Robert has no idea that I am writing this review. I just decided to get on the website and saw that I could write a review. If you don’t have to get a divorce, don’t. But if you are, hire Robert. And by the way, his legal assistant, Kelli is a doll. “Team Scherzer.” Nicole
I am a retired businessman. Robert Scherzer is the worst employee ever. Robert Scherzer heads my list, as the most horrible person I can imagine hiring, to represent me in a legal matter. Early on, in my custody hearing, Robert complained that he doesn't sleep well at night. I figured out his problem. He doesn't sleep well at night because he sleeps all day in court. I also asked him if he would take my direction and ask the questions that I wanted him to ask. He agreed, but failed miserably. Despite his encouragement, that I had a 75 to 85% chance of victory, he lost. Then, he informed me that WE may have left ourselves open to some opposition attorney fees. I am thankful that I fired him and represented myself, in the attorney fee hearing. I think I was infinitely more convincing than he would have been and was able to limit my losses. After this debacle, I asked my 90 year old mother to describe Robert Scherzer's performance. Her one word response was "PANIC". I completely agree. I also sincerely accuse him of excessive billing, for his ridiculously poor services. No stars! Richard Corbett
