The provided contact numbers are (973) 242-7110 and +1 973-242-7110, offering accessible means for individuals in Newark and the surrounding areas to reach out for legal inquiries. Situated in a building on Academy Street, the office is likely part of a professional complex, providing a setting for client consultations and legal work. The specific details regarding the office environment, such as its size or amenities, are not described in the provided information.

The exact scope of legal services offered by Ross Philip A is not explicitly detailed. However, the two contrasting client reviews offer some insight into his practice and client interactions. One positive review describes him as an "attorney with experience, a great work ethic," and "very passionate about his cases." This suggests a lawyer who is dedicated to his work and committed to helping his clients. The reviewer also mentions that Mr. Ross understood their financial situation and provided a "small discount," indicating a degree of empathy and willingness to work with clients on fees. Overall, this review portrays a professional who strives to assist clients to the best of his ability and achieves positive outcomes.

In stark contrast, the negative review presents a very different experience. This reviewer expresses extreme dissatisfaction, stating they would not hire Mr. Ross and labeling him a "waste of time & money." The grievance stems from a paid consultation ($25 fee) during which the reviewer felt they received no helpful direction. The reviewer states that Mr. Ross initially agreed to look over paperwork but then declined, citing concerns about providing legal advice without being formally hired, which could lead to being sued. He allegedly deemed the case complicated and quoted a $10,000 fee, implying that he would only offer guidance upon formal engagement. The reviewer found this unhelpful, as they primarily sought direction on paperwork they had already filled out. They contrasted this experience with prepaid legal services, which they found more helpful, although with a longer turnaround time than their immediate need.

Considering these two divergent accounts, the features of working with Ross Philip A present a mixed picture:

  • Experienced and Passionate (according to one review): One client describes Mr. Ross as experienced and passionate, with a strong work ethic. This suggests a potential for dedicated and knowledgeable representation.
  • Potential for Fee Flexibility (according to one review): The mention of a small discount indicates a possible willingness to consider clients' financial situations.
  • Concerns Regarding Helpfulness in Consultations (according to one review): The negative review raises serious concerns about the value received during a paid consultation, suggesting a reluctance to provide guidance without a significant financial commitment.
  • High Fee Estimates for Complex Cases (according to one review): A $10,000 quote for a case deemed complicated might be standard, but it was perceived as a barrier to even receiving initial direction by one potential client.
  • Apparent Reluctance to Provide Informal Advice (according to one review): The refusal to review paperwork and offer direction without a formal retainer, citing liability concerns, may be off-putting to some clients seeking initial guidance.

There is no explicit promotional information available for Ross Philip A in the provided data. The positive review, with its mention of a discount, could be seen as an implicit indication of potential flexibility in fees depending on individual circumstances. However, the strong negative review might overshadow any such perceived benefit for potential clients.

For local users in Newark seeking "Nearby Lawyers," Ross Philip A at 17 Academy St #415 is an option to consider. However, the sharply contrasting client experiences necessitate a cautious approach. Potential clients should carefully weigh the positive feedback regarding experience and work ethic against the serious concerns raised about the lack of helpfulness during a paid consultation and the high fee estimate coupled with a reluctance to offer preliminary guidance.

The decision to engage Ross Philip A's services should likely involve further due diligence by potential clients. This could include seeking additional reviews from other sources, if available, or scheduling an initial consultation to discuss their specific legal needs and assess the attorney's approach and fee structure firsthand. Given the strong negative experience reported by one individual, it would be prudent to have a clear understanding of the consultation process and the attorney's willingness to provide initial guidance before committing to a paid consultation or further services.

In conclusion, Ross Philip A, located at 17 Academy St #415 in Newark, NJ, is a nearby lawyer with mixed client feedback. While one review praises his experience, work ethic, and potential for fee flexibility, another expresses significant dissatisfaction with a paid consultation that was perceived as unhelpful and a high fee estimate for a complex case. Local users seeking legal representation in Newark should consider these contrasting experiences and conduct thorough due diligence to determine if Mr. Ross's services align with their needs and expectations. Contacting his office at (973) 242-7110 or +1 973-242-7110 for an initial discussion might provide further clarity, but it is essential to approach this with an awareness of the divergent client experiences reported online.

He helped me so much in my case. He is an attorney with experience, a great work ethic and he is very passionate about his cases and overall is a professional who will help you to the best of his ability. He understood my financial situation and gave me a small discount for his services. I am very happy with how much he helped me with my case. Hiring him was a decision that I definitely do not regret.

I would give him no stars, but you have to choose one. Please do not waste your time seeing this lawyer. I wouldn’t even hire him! I got his name and phone number from the Essex County Bar. I paid $25.00 fee for a consult. He was not helpful at all and he stated that he would look over my paperwork. He then stated that he couldn’t look over my paperwork, because if he gave me any legal advice he could be sued. He stated that my case was complicated and it would be $10,000. If you’re not going to hire him then he really can’t direct you. All I wanted was direction and my paperwork was filled out. I called prepaid legal services and they were very helpful. The only thing is that they take one week to look over paperwork and I don’t have one week. In advance don’t HIRE HIM HE IS WASTE OF TIME & MONEY /SAVE YOURSELF.

I went to him for a consultation and I instantly got a bad vibe. The floor was dingy and the office was smelly and a mess! He was recommended through the bar association. After giving him the consultation fee, he played hard to get and started asking for 10K up front, stating that it was a hard case. It got the feeling that the bar association was used to get lunch money out of me while deterring me from actually hiring him by asking for large sums up front!
