  • Did not have a good experience. I hired Mick Sellergreen to take care of a speeding ticket. After talking to him over the phone he assured me that he has a good history fighting tickets in the county I received it from. He also said his process is to consistently visit a prosecutor until they offer a good deal. Mick failed to reduce the ticket by even one MPH and even plead guilty without consulting me. The way I found out was by receiving a summary in the mail days later from the traffic court, not from Mick himself. I received no communication about the decision or the result which is very unprofessional. When I confronted Mick about it he claimed he emailed me to “Discuss this matter” but that is not adequate, especially when he has my phone number. Mick had three business days after he plead me guilty to contact me but made no reasonable effort. I am unsure what exchanges were made between Mick and the prosecutor but when questioned about it he stated that he wanted to meet with this specific prosecutor “because this individual was someone he knew for a long time, that this individual asked Mick what it was like having his name because they were considering naming their child after him, etc…”. He went on like that for a long time, it was very strange. Mick also stated that he “Spent thirty minutes arguing with her which is six times longer than his other clients”. That implies that your payment only buys you five minutes of his time which goes against his statement of multiple visits for multiple prosecutors. All in all, it is simply a traffic ticket. I am more upset by the fact that he took my money and ran with it. Edit for response - The option to reopen the case was made available to me after I posted my initial review. The response to my original review stated that I never communicated back about the alternative options presented to me. This is simply not true. I was presented with the one option to have the case reopened and they will cover the $50 court fee. I thanked Mick for the option but declined to have the case reopened. Why beat a dead horse? He agreed on my decision and stated that "I think it’s impossible to change the outcome of this case".
  • I worked with Martha Thelen to defend a renter lawsuit against me. Martha was very straightforward with me and kept me advised at all times! She was always well prepared and proved our case extremely well to result in the outcome I had hoped for! I highly recommend her and would use her services again for any future legal needs.
  • After they no longer employed Martha Helen, my rating for this law firm goes from 5 stars to 1. Worst follow-up ever to my case by Pierre and Carol. I tried for 3 months to get a return phone call from them. This is the worst law firm I had a displeasure to work with.
  • Unbelievable. It's not that I was unhappy with the outcome, I just believe that there could have been a BETTER outcome - and that I paid a lot of money for the shocked and bewildered facial expressions my "attorney" exhibited at nearly every turn in the case.
  • If knowledge is power, Rizzo & Diersen is my electric company!!! Mick Sellergren and his team have done wonders for my personal and business needs.

Rizzo & Diersen, S.C. operates as a comprehensive "full-service law firm," and their Lake Geneva office likely mirrors the broad range of legal services offered across their practice. While the provided reviews highlight specific attorneys and their case types, the firm's overall profile suggests expertise in various areas. These typically include, but are not limited to, family law (divorce, child custody, child support), real estate law (transactions, property disputes), business and corporate law (formations, contracts, commercial litigation), and trusts and estates (wills, probate, elder law). The reviews specifically mention representation for a "speeding ticket" and a "renter lawsuit," indicating that the firm also handles traffic violations and civil litigation, including landlord-tenant disputes. This broad spectrum of services ensures that individuals, families, and businesses in Lake Geneva can find assistance for a multitude of legal issues under one firm. The firm's commitment to handling "No Case Too Big Or Too Small" further reinforces their versatility and readiness to assist with a wide range of legal complexities, from minor infractions to more significant disputes.

Key features of Rizzo & Diersen, S.C. - Lake Geneva, as highlighted by client experiences and the firm's general profile, include its comprehensive legal capabilities and a team of attorneys with diverse backgrounds. The firm's multi-office structure across Southeast Wisconsin allows for broader accessibility and shared resources, which can benefit clients. A significant feature is the varied experience within its legal team, enabling them to address a wide array of client needs effectively. However, it's crucial to acknowledge the distinct experiences shared by clients. One client, who worked with Martha Thelen for a "renter lawsuit," lauded her as "very straightforward," consistently keeping them "advised," and being "always well prepared." This client highly recommends Martha, emphasizing her ability to achieve the desired outcome, which speaks to features of strong communication, preparation, and effective advocacy. This positive feedback suggests that the firm provides diligent and successful representation in civil litigation matters when handled by Martha Thelen.

Conversely, another client's experience with Attorney Mick Sellergreen regarding a "speeding ticket" reveals concerning features. This client states that Mick "failed to reduce the ticket by even one MPH and even plead guilty without consulting me." The lack of communication, unprofessional conduct (receiving summary from court, not attorney), and Mick's explanations ("claimed he emailed me," "spent thirty minutes arguing," implying limited time per client) are critical features from this negative review. The client felt Mick "took my money and ran with it." This suggests a significant disparity in client experience, highlighting that while some attorneys within the firm may excel, others might fall short in areas like communication, client consent, and delivering promised results. The "Edit for response" further details the firm's offer to reopen the case, which the client declined, reinforcing the original outcome and the client's dissatisfaction. This mixed feedback underscores that while the firm offers a wide range of services, the individual attorney assigned and their approach can significantly impact client satisfaction.

Promotional information for Rizzo & Diersen, S.C. generally emphasizes their status as a full-service law firm, providing "quality, personalized representation" across various legal disciplines. They would likely promote their multiple office locations as a convenience for clients across Walworth, Kenosha, and Racine counties. The firm's long history, dating back to 1972, would also be a strong promotional point, conveying stability, experience, and a deep understanding of Wisconsin law. Their broad range of practice areas would be highlighted to attract diverse clients seeking assistance in family law, real estate, business matters, and litigation. While the firm's overall promotional message would aim for a positive and competent image, the specific experiences detailed in client reviews suggest that any promotional material should be viewed in conjunction with individual attorney performance. The positive review for Martha Thelen could be leveraged to promote her specific expertise in civil defense, while the negative experience with Mick Sellergreen would ideally prompt internal review and adjustments to maintain consistent service quality across all legal areas and attorneys. Ultimately, the firm's promotion would strive to convey reliability and comprehensive legal support for the Lake Geneva community, encouraging potential clients to seek consultations to understand how their team can address specific legal challenges.
