  • Richard Hyatt represented me in a difficult divorce case. Richard was knowledgeable and well prepared. Early on he told me what he thought the outcome would be and even after an extended trial, the outcome was basically what he predicted. Richard worked to find solutions. When it was clear settlement wasn’t an option, Richard represented me effectively in court. He was honest, calm, considerate of what I was going through and reassuring when I felt discouraged. I would highly recommend Richard as a family law attorney.
  • 5.0 stars Posted by Kent Richard was recommended to me by a good friend that just happened to be a retired Judge. I was ending a five year marriage and jointly we owned two valuable real estate assets. Richard was recommended due to his stellar past performance as a very knowledgable and ethical family law professional. I have found Richard to not only be an excellent family law attorney but a person that is both empathetic and pragmatic when dealing with a most difficult X wife. The initial plan...back in 2009...was to end this rather short marriage... one with premarital separate property trusts in place with a settlement conference scheduled to divide the two real estate assets. My X wife failed to show up for the settlement conference... replaced her attorney with one of the largest (and most expensive) law firms in San Diego. Richard continued our request for settlement, agreed to mediation with a hired retired family law Judge. While Richard recommend to me to accept the Judge's settlement outline, my X wife again walked out. The only option was to enter into what would result into a seven day trial carried out over some 6 months. We prevailed 100% when the presiding Judge rendered his decision. After the trial we were encouraged that the remaining issues could quickly be resolved... wrong again... my X wife has to date engaged no less than 6 different legal teams. Richard has maintained his professional approach and has earned a positive result in each and every follow on hearing to include a court order for my X wife to pay my attorney fees and costs. Even though the lengthy litigation caused by my X wife has lasted as long as the marriage did... Richard stood by me and I can now see the light at the end of the tunnel. I highly recommend Richard and his skilled team to anyone requiring a highly skilled and ethical family law attorney. Kent... BA, MA, Ed.D...Boulder C Less

  • I hope I can stop someone else from making the terrible mistake I made in retaining Richard Hyatt's office. The only other Attorney who was worse was Pam Bradford, whom Richard Hyatt's office recommended to be the Attorney for my children. An Attorney should act in the best interest of their client but Richard Hyatt's office did not listen to me or act in my best interest at all. Their handling of my case caused my case to spiral down in a giant snowball which resulted in me losing everything ,including my children. I told them not to get a separate Attorney for my children, that my children who were being very manipulated by their Dad and his parents were already being herd loud and clear but they did it anyway. They recommended Pam Bradford whom I quickly learned from my own terrible experience with her as well as from others. including other Attorneys, has a terrible reputation. Richard Hyatt's office double charged for everything. between he and Paula Goforth. In the time they worked for me my ex husband's Attorney charged him approx. $8000 where Richard Hyatt's office charged me $42,0000! In the end I had to pay them $33,000! They accomplished nothing for my good and ruined my case! All they cared about was money. At one point during the case, my very dishonest ex- husband who stole from me in everyway he could, was caught spending lots of money on our HELOC which was supposed to be frozen. Richard Hyatt let all of it go except for when he found out my ex husband was paying his own Attorney and the Children's Attorney from it and not him. Then he came unglued at court demanding that he be paid from it too, ignoring what he was supposed to be doing for me in court. When my ex husband wrote him a bad check, his office charged ME for the time they spent on dealing with my ex husband's bounced check from our line of credit he had been stealing from! There is much more, but I hope this is enough to save someone else from making the same mistake I did.
  • My ex-wife hired Mr. Hyatt in a family court custody case and I represented myself. He lost every motion, every motion and he racked up a huge bill for my ex-wife. Thank you Mr. Hyatt for the horrible job you did ...you are why Shakespeare wrote about lawyers!

  • I believe very much that I received the worst advice from Mr. Hyatt. Poor advice when he reviewed my mediation agreement and worse representation when I hired him. That was a mistake. I ended up paying over 40K in 2014 for nothing good and am still paying off lawyer loans. Please beware
