Retired Introduce
When searching for "Nearby Lawyers" in Brooklyn, it's essential to consider all available information to make an informed decision. This page addresses a legal professional who was reportedly located at 16 Court St, 35th floor, Brooklyn, NY 11241, USA. It is crucial to note that the lawyer's listed name is "Retired," which immediately suggests that this individual is no longer actively practicing law. Therefore, local users seeking immediate legal assistance should be aware that the services of a retired lawyer are not currently available.
While the lawyer is listed as "Retired," there are conflicting reviews associated with this address. One review paints a highly negative picture, describing the individual as a "horrific human being" who is allegedly unethical, ineffective, and rude. The reviewer accuses this person of taking money without putting in effort, prioritizing personal gain over client needs, and exhibiting disrespectful behavior towards service workers. This review strongly advises potential clients to seek representation elsewhere, specifically recommending lawyers with higher ratings.
Conversely, another review offers a starkly different and overwhelmingly positive account of a lawyer named Susan Groberg, who was apparently recommended and utilized by the reviewer for multiple real estate transactions and is now being considered for estate planning and will preparation. This reviewer highlights several positive aspects of their experience with Susan Groberg:
- Excellent Prior Experiences: The reviewer's daughter had positive prior experiences with Susan Groberg, leading to a high recommendation. This suggests a history of satisfactory service for at least one other client.
- Successful Real Estate Transactions: The reviewer personally used Susan Groberg to buy and sell a condominium and subsequently purchase a house. These multiple transactions indicate a level of trust and satisfaction with her real estate legal services.
- Effective Remote Assistance: Notably, the reviewer used Susan Groberg for a real estate purchase while being out of the country, highlighting her ability to guide clients through the process remotely and effectively.
- Strong Knowledge of New York Real Estate: Susan Groberg is described as having solid knowledge and perspective on the New York real estate market, which is crucial for navigating its complexities.
- Responsiveness and Protection of Client Interests: The reviewer emphasizes Susan Groberg's responsiveness and her proactive approach in protecting her clients from harmful mistakes and potential exploitation during real estate transactions.
- Clear and Direct Communication: Her communication style is described as direct and clear, ensuring that clients understand the legal processes involved.
- Accommodation When Needed: Susan Groberg is also noted for being accommodating to her clients' needs.
- Positive Experience with Assistant: The reviewer specifically mentions a positive experience with Susan Groberg's assistant, Sara Opoczynski, indicating a well-functioning and supportive team.
- Expansion to Estate Planning: The reviewer's intention to now use Susan Groberg for estate issues and creating a will signifies a high level of trust and satisfaction with her legal capabilities beyond real estate.
Considering these two contrasting reviews associated with the 16 Court St address, it is essential for local users to exercise caution and seek further clarification. The listing of "Retired" as the lawyer's name suggests that the individual mentioned in the negative review is no longer practicing. The positive review, however, specifically names Susan Groberg, indicating that she was a practicing attorney at this location and provided services in real estate law and, potentially, estate planning.
Given the information available, it is impossible to definitively ascertain the current status and practice of Susan Groberg based solely on the "Retired" listing. The positive review is substantial and detailed, highlighting her expertise in New York real estate, her client-focused approach, and her effectiveness in handling transactions. The negative review, while concerning, does not explicitly name Susan Groberg and may refer to a different individual who was also associated with this address at some point.
For local users in Brooklyn seeking legal assistance in real estate or estate planning, the positive review of Susan Groberg suggests that she may be a valuable resource. However, the "Retired" status associated with the listing necessitates further investigation to determine her current professional status and contact information. It is possible that Susan Groberg has moved her practice or is indeed retired. Potential clients should independently verify her current status and practice location before attempting to engage her services.
The environment of the 35th floor at 16 Court St is not described in detail in the reviews. However, being located in a commercial building in downtown Brooklyn suggests a professional office setting. The positive review's focus is on Susan Groberg's skills and client service rather than the ambiance of the office itself.
In terms of services, based on the positive review, Susan Groberg offered comprehensive legal assistance in residential real estate transactions, including both buying and selling properties. Her services extended to guiding clients through the process even when they were not physically present. The reviewer's intention to engage her for estate issues and will preparation indicates that Susan Groberg likely also practices in the area of estate planning. The negative review does not provide any specific details about the services offered by the individual it criticizes.
The features highlighted in the positive review of Susan Groberg include her in-depth knowledge of New York real estate, her responsiveness, her proactive protection of client interests, her clear communication, her accommodation of client needs, and the helpfulness of her assistant. These features suggest a client-centric and effective legal practice.
There is no explicit promotional information available. However, the detailed and positive testimonial from a satisfied client serves as a strong implicit endorsement of Susan Groberg's real estate and potentially estate planning legal services.
In conclusion, for local users in Brooklyn searching for "Nearby Lawyers" for real estate or estate planning needs, the listing with the name "Retired" at 16 Court St presents a mixed picture. While a highly negative review exists, a separate and detailed positive review specifically praises the services of Susan Groberg for real estate matters and suggests her involvement in estate planning. The "Retired" status necessitates caution and further verification of Susan Groberg's current professional status and contact information. Potential clients should conduct their own due diligence to ascertain if Susan Groberg is currently practicing and where she can be reached to discuss their legal needs in real estate or estate planning. The positive testimonial suggests that if she is still practicing, her knowledge, client focus, and effectiveness could make her a valuable legal resource in the Brooklyn area.

Wow, what a horrific human being this woman is. She is a wicked person who will take your money and run without even putting in effort to your case. All she cares about is her money and doing literally the absolute bare minimum. This woman is wicked and is incredibly rude to service workers. This woman has completely embarrassed me in front of the people I work with in my life. She has been extremely rude and cursing out service workers. Truly a menace. Look for someone with 5 stars. Not this demon with less than 3.5 review
I am very thankful that my daughter had already had excellent experiences with Susan Groberg and therefore recommended her highly when I recently moved to New York. I have now used Susan to buy a condominium and sell it, as well as buy the house I now live in. The first time I used her, I wasn't even in the country but Susan stepped me through the process. She has always been solid with her knowledge of, and perspective on, New York real estate. She has also been very responsive and protective, making sure I didn't allow harmful mistakes in the process or let myself be taken advantage of. Her communication is direct and clear, and she's accommodating when needed. Her assistant, Sara Opoczynski, has also been wonderful. I have been so pleased that I am now going to use Susan for estate issues and making a will.
HORRIBLE ATTORNEY, she is the rudest attorney ever and doesn’t truly care for her clients. She is extremely rude to service workers and curses at them for doing their job. She doesn’t have 5 stars for a reason. Save yourself your money and find a better attorney who actually cares about your case and is not a literal devil at the core of their soul
Susan Groberg is a truly excellent real estate attorney. And she has great people working with her; Sara Opoczynski is fantastic at her job and went above and beyond for us. Have worked with Susan on multiple occasions and would never go anywhere else. Cannot recommend her highly enough.
ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE ATTORNEY, do not use this attorney! She will call companies you work with and curse at them and act like a horrible person to service workers. Very entitled who only cares about money and is a rotten person, truly. Do not hire her or she will make you look bad
