Based on the available customer reviews, there are differing perspectives on the services provided by R. Rich Myers. One client expressed significant dissatisfaction with the cost of a step-parent adoption case. They reported being initially quoted approximately $3,000 per child, totaling around $6,000 for their two children. However, they stated that the actual expenses amounted to $22,000 over the course of a year in court processes. This client mentioned overhearing other family lawyers suggesting that fees exceeding $10,000 for a family law case could be considered exploitative. Consequently, they felt taken advantage of, noting that they spent a substantial portion of their income on what they perceived as primarily "pushing papers." Ultimately, they decided to discontinue Mr. Myers' services before the completion of their cases due to the escalating costs. Their advice to others is to thoroughly research and compare lawyers before making a commitment.

In contrast, another client offered a brief but positive review, describing the service as "great and friendly." They also extended their thanks to Mr. Myers and his office staff. This feedback suggests that some clients have had positive experiences with the firm's service and the demeanor of the staff.

Considering these two reviews, it is important for potential clients to weigh both perspectives. The positive feedback highlights a friendly and helpful service, which can be a crucial aspect of client experience. However, the detailed negative review raises concerns about the transparency and overall cost of services, particularly in family law cases such as adoption. The discrepancy between the initial estimate and the final charges reported by one client is a significant point to consider.

The services offered by R. Rich Myers appear to include family law, with specific experience in step-parent adoptions. Given the nature of the reviews, it is advisable for prospective clients with family law needs, including adoption, to engage in a thorough discussion about fees, potential costs, and the scope of work involved before retaining his services. Understanding the billing structure, hourly rates (if applicable), and potential for additional expenses is crucial to avoid unexpected financial burdens.

While the information does not provide specific details about other areas of family law handled by R. Rich Myers, such as divorce, child custody, or support matters, his presence in the "Nearby Lawyers" category suggests he caters to a range of family law needs within the Fresno community. It is essential to have a clear understanding of the financial implications before committing to any legal service provider.

Did he get stuff done? Yes he did. BUT...we were told it would cost around $3000 per kid for a step-parent adoption (so about $6000 for us). We were in court processes for a year and we spect $22,000! While in our last court appearance, we overheard other family lawyers talking and they said, "if anyone charges over $10,000 for a family law case, they are taking advantage of people." I feel like we were taken advantage of. We spent a minimum wage salary, for him to push papers. We even let him go before the cases were done because we knew we were spending way too much! If you want to spend an arm and a leg, Rich is your guy! My advice, shop around, ask questions, do your research before committing to any lawyer.
