Today, we provide an introduction to Peterson Nykamp Law, LLC, located at 5383 S 900 E #206, Salt Lake City, UT 84117, USA. Based on available online reviews, Peterson Nykamp Law, LLC appears to primarily operate in the realm of debt collection, representing creditors such as Wells Fargo.
Information regarding the specific environment of Peterson Nykamp Law, LLC's office is not detailed in the provided reviews. However, law firms involved in debt collection typically maintain professional office settings for their administrative and legal operations. Clients who are contacted by Peterson Nykamp Law, LLC are likely to interact with their representatives primarily through phone, mail, or potentially in court settings, rather than visiting the physical office for consultations, unless legal action necessitates such meetings.
Based on the two available customer reviews, the primary service offered by Peterson Nykamp Law, LLC is debt collection on behalf of creditors. Specifically, the reviews mention their representation of Wells Fargo in collecting outstanding debts. This suggests that their services include:
- Debt Collection: Contacting individuals with outstanding debts to facilitate repayment on behalf of their clients (creditors). This may involve communication through various means, negotiation of payment plans, and potentially legal action to recover the debt.
- Debt Settlement: As indicated in one review, Peterson Nykamp Law, LLC may work with debtors to reach a settlement agreement for a debt, potentially involving a reduced repayment amount.
- Legal Representation for Creditors: Representing creditors like Wells Fargo in legal proceedings related to debt recovery.
It is important to understand that Peterson Nykamp Law, LLC's role, based on this information, is to act on behalf of the creditor to recover funds owed. Individuals who find themselves contacted by this law firm are typically debtors who have an outstanding obligation to the creditor they represent.
The two customer reviews offer contrasting perspectives on their interactions with Peterson Nykamp Law, LLC, highlighting different features of their approach:
- Potential Strength - Facilitating Debt Settlement: One reviewer who had fallen behind on bills due to a loss of income described their experience with Peterson Nykamp Law, LLC as "great to work with" in getting their debt settled after a negative experience with the original creditor (Wells Fargo). This suggests that Peterson Nykamp Law, LLC may be willing to work with debtors to find mutually agreeable solutions for debt repayment.
- Potential Strength - Perceived as More Pleasant Than the Original Creditor: The same reviewer humorously noted that being sent to collections by Peterson Nykamp Law, LLC was a more "pleasant experience" than dealing directly with Wells Fargo. This could indicate a more communicative or understanding approach in their debt collection process, at least in some cases.
- Potential Weakness - Alleged Attempt to Collect Non-Existent or Time-Barred Debt: The second review presents a serious allegation of Peterson Nykamp Law, LLC attempting to collect a debt that the reviewer claims is not theirs and is beyond the statute of limitations in Utah (6 years). The reviewer also mentions filing a complaint with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB). This raises concerns about their debt collection practices, specifically regarding the accuracy of the debt being pursued and adherence to legal limitations.
- Potential Weakness - "Threatening" Communication: The second reviewer described receiving a "letter threatening me for no payment," which, if the debt is indeed not valid or time-barred, would be a significant concern regarding their communication tactics.
Given these contrasting experiences, it is challenging to offer straightforward promotional information. The positive review suggests that Peterson Nykamp Law, LLC can be effective and even perceived as helpful in facilitating debt settlement for individuals with legitimate debts. For those who owe money to their clients, engaging with Peterson Nykamp Law, LLC might lead to a resolution that is viewed as more favorable than dealing directly with the original creditor.
However, the negative review presents serious allegations that potential debtors should be aware of. If you are contacted by Peterson Nykamp Law, LLC regarding a debt you believe is not yours, is beyond the statute of limitations, or is inaccurate in any way, it is crucial to:
- Do not ignore the communication.
- Request written verification of the debt. This should include the name of the original creditor, the amount owed, and an explanation of the debt.
- Know your rights under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA). This federal law protects consumers from abusive, unfair, or deceptive debt collection practices.
- If you believe the debt is not yours or is time-barred, respond in writing with a clear explanation and any supporting documentation.
- Consider seeking legal advice from an attorney specializing in debt defense to understand your rights and options.
For local users in Salt Lake City who find themselves contacted by Peterson Nykamp Law, LLC, it is essential to carefully assess the validity and accuracy of the debt in question. While one individual reported a positive experience in settling a debt, the other review raises serious concerns about their collection practices. It underscores the importance of due diligence and understanding your rights when dealing with debt collectors.
If you are contacted by Peterson Nykamp Law, LLC, you can reach them at (801) 261-2220 or +1 801-261-2220 to discuss the debt they are attempting to collect. However, it is advisable to document all communications and, if you have any doubts about the validity of the debt, to seek independent legal counsel.
In conclusion, Peterson Nykamp Law, LLC in Salt Lake City appears to operate as a debt collection law firm, primarily representing creditors like Wells Fargo. While one customer reported a positive experience with debt settlement, another raised serious allegations regarding the collection of a potentially invalid or time-barred debt. Local users who are contacted by Peterson Nykamp Law, LLC should proceed cautiously, verify the legitimacy of the debt, understand their rights under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, and consider seeking legal advice if they have any concerns about the debt or the collection methods being used.

These guys are debt collectors for Wells Fargo. I never knew being sent to collections could be such a pleasant experience. I got behind on bills when I lost a contract that was about half my income. Wells Fargo was terrible to work with and wouldn't consider adjusting their terms. I owed everyone money and most everyone else were understanding and made adjustments so I could get them paid. I just quit paying Wells Fargo because they didn't seem satisfied with anything. Eventually I was turned over to Peterson Nykamp and they were great to work with getting my debt settled. If I'd have known how great they'd be I would have quit paying Wells Fargo sooner! 😆
debt collector attempting to collect a debt that is not mine from 2014. sent me a letter threatening me for no payment!?. again the debt is not mine and the statue of limitations on a debt in utah is 6 years this debt is not on my credit report. i have filed a complaint with the cfpb.
I'm pretty sure garnishment of a bank account in my state of someone whose sole income is SSI is illegal, correct me if I'm wrong. See you in court.
Great Attorney's! Smart, honest, and on top of things!
Very kick in taking care of your business.
