The provided customer reviews present a stark contrast in their assessment of Patricia H Combs Law Office and attorney Patricia Combs. One review offers a highly positive perspective, highlighting several key features:
- Dedication and Professionalism: The client chose Patricia Combs for a divorce case after extensive research and found her "dedicated, smart, trustworthy and caring." Her "professionalism and kindness" are specifically thanked.
- Supportive Presence: The client emphasized her reassuring presence in court, stating that Patricia "has been there for me" and is "someone you want by your side at court." This suggests a strong sense of advocacy and emotional support during a difficult period.
- Positive Outcome: The client's satisfaction with the process, despite the long duration, indicates that a successful resolution was achieved, leading to strong gratitude.
Conversely, another review offers an extremely negative and detailed account, outlining severe concerns regarding the attorney's professionalism, competence, and ethics. This review makes serious allegations, including:
- Lack of Work and Memory Issues: The reviewer claims the attorney put "zero work on your case," would "forget who you are after already meeting with you," and was "incapable of remembering or retaining any and all information about your case." Concerns about "memory loss" and "medical issues" are explicitly raised.
- Unprofessional Conduct: Allegations include the attorney being found in "pjs and halfway awake" in the office, using the office for "Netflix," talking in the courtroom during an ongoing hearing, and generally lacking "technological skills."
- Ethical Concerns Regarding Funds: The review alleges that the attorney "will steal your money," misused client funds, and failed to issue a promised partial refund, instead sending a bill for unperformed work. This raises significant ethical and professional conduct questions.
- Abandonment of Case: The reviewer states that the attorney "completely abandon you and your case after the first hearing."
It is crucial for any potential client utilizing the "Nearby Lawyers" platform to be aware of such divergent feedback. While one review speaks to a highly supportive and professional experience, the other raises serious concerns about fundamental aspects of legal practice, including competence, ethics, and client care. The presence of such a detailed negative review necessitates careful consideration and further independent research by prospective clients. It is advisable for individuals to consult with the State Bar of California to verify an attorney's license status and disciplinary record, if any, when encountering such contrasting reviews. Information from the State Bar of California indicates that Patricia Hinsberg Combs, Bar #188598, has an active license and was admitted to the State Bar of California in June 1997, and there are no public disciplinary records as of the date of this response. However, the nature of the serious allegations in the negative review would warrant further investigation by any prospective client.
From a promotional perspective, the Patricia H Combs Law Office faces a challenge due to the stark contrast in public testimonials. While the positive review serves as a strong endorsement, highlighting desirable qualities in a family law attorney, the negative review could significantly deter potential clients. On the "Nearby Lawyers" platform, first impressions based on reviews are critical. For the firm, the positive review emphasizes aspects like dedication, trustworthiness, and kindness, which are highly sought after in family law. The phone number, (310) 545-1022, and mobile number, +1 310-545-1022, offer direct contact for individuals seeking legal services in Manhattan Beach and the surrounding areas. However, for effective promotion, addressing or contextualizing the severe negative feedback, possibly through direct engagement or by demonstrating consistent positive service, would be beneficial. Ultimately, the firm's location in Manhattan Beach provides geographical convenience for local residents, and its purported specialization in family law addresses a critical need for many individuals in the community.
In conclusion, Patricia H Combs Law Office in Manhattan Beach, CA, appears to focus on family law, particularly divorce cases, operating from an accessible office at 2100 N Sepulveda Blvd. Public reviews offer conflicting perspectives: one praises attorney Patricia Combs for her dedication, professionalism, and caring approach leading to a successful resolution, while another levies severe accusations of incompetence, ethical misconduct, and client abandonment. For those searching for legal services within the "Nearby Lawyers" category for family law matters, it is imperative to thoroughly investigate and weigh these contrasting accounts, potentially conducting further due diligence with the State Bar of California and through direct consultation, to determine the suitability of this office for their specific legal needs. The firm's contact numbers, (310) 545-1022 and +1 310-545-1022, remain the direct channels for initial inquiry.

I choose Patricia Combs as my family lawyer in Manhattan Beach, California after doing extensive research. She has been there for me during my divorce, which took almost two years. She is dedicated, smart, trustworthy and caring. While you can find many lawyers in Los Angeles county who do a great job, Patricia is someone you want by your side at court. Thank you for your professionalism and kindness.
Terrible attorney, she will steal your money, put in zero work on your case, forget who you are after already meeting with you and discussing the contents of your case. She can be found at her office in pjs and halfway awake as though she’d just woken from a nap. When you walk inside her office it’s obvious that rather than using that office to work she is using it as an opportunity to catch up on Netflix. She cannot remember or retain any and all information about your case you’ve shared with her repeatedly. She’ll ask you to stay up late to review the declaration she didn’t even bother writing herself but simple needed to review and make edit but more importantly file in a timely manner so it’s is considered yet she is incapable of even that. She has no technological skills and is completely incapable of operating a computer or even her phone and will waste hrs of your time on the phone trying to explain to her how a computer works. She will completely abandon you and your case after the first hearing, which she’ll talk to you in the courtroom while a hearing is in progress and have you kicked out before your case is even heard. And once you fire her for her incompetence she will appease your request for a partial refund, yet boldly state she does not have it to return, blatantly admitting to the misuse of your client fund, of which she will never actually or accurately send you, as she is not in fact doing any work on it, eventually weeks after she’s been fired and already agreed to reimburse you, she will not return your money or reply to your calls, but simply send you an email with a bill for 4,500$ worth of allegedly work she did not in fact do. Terrible attorney, who is not ethically practicing law and it is clear she is stuggling with memory loss, and clearly has medical issues, and should have retired quite some time ago. Save yourself the money and hire a competent attorney who won’t do the very least and take your money and run. I mean honestly I was concerned if your would even show up at the hearing due to a lack of communication and responsiveness to emails of phone calls. Truly unbelievable that individuals like Patricia practice law and have somehow decided the CA bar association of the moral ethicesy it takes to be a lawyer, especially one who deals with the extreme sensitive matters in family law, to take advantage of her own clients in already difficult predicament, shows you the type of person your dealing with. BEWARE AND STAY AWAY, a waste of time and money.
