  • They switched attorney's at the middle of getting things started with no explanation nor courtesy email or call from current attorney. First attorney didn’t show up for the first court date which gave the other party time to do shady stuff. Weak attorneys that act strong but in court they back down and visibly turn red so no confidence. Then we sent emails and calls saying we can’t afford you for trial and they acknowledged the email. They still continued accumulating 10K in fees we that we already told them and they acknowledged in email for the trial we couldn’t afford. Now 12K in fees THEN OF COURSE THEY DONT COME TO TRIAL BECAUSE THEYRE NOT PAID! Now they want to send it to collections. This place is a money grab and we have emails to prove it. Left with less rights than we started. We will be reporting to the BAR and about the other party’s attorneys unethical practices that were ignored by our attorney.
  • I am extremely disappointed with Pacific Cascade Legal. I paid a $3,000 retainer for their services and received absolutely no assistance in return. My assigned attorney, Michael Trotter, did nothing at all. I initially had a consultation in the fall of 2024 with Luke Smith regarding my grandfather’s probate, and after the conversation, I was convinced that this firm could help me. However, due to some personal issues, I was unable to retain them until the winter of 2024. Despite the delay, Pacific Cascade Legal relentlessly called me over 10 times asking for my retainer payment. Once I finally paid, the communication stopped completely. I made numerous attempts to contact them via phone and email, but the only response I received was from the woman who answered the phone. She had a thick Hispanic accent and repeatedly told me to leave my name and number for a call back — which never happened. Now, I am out $3,000, with no service or support. I feel completely scammed and robbed by this firm. I trusted them, and they took my money without delivering anything. Please be cautious before doing business with them.
  • Not a good experience. My first issue was when I was "sold" by one lawyer to get me to pay my deposit and start the work. I told him my whole story, but then had to tell a different lawyer my story to get the paper work going. Which they charged me for. Then after I asked them to stop working on Jan. 8, I was told I needed to wait 30 days to get my my remaining deposit back. It's been over 40 days now and now check. Plus their admin team has yet to respond to me email 5 days ago asking why they haven't met their own goals for a refund. Now I'm waiting to see how much they charge me to give me my money back. Edit: I finally got my refund with no explanation for how much was given back. Then canned to understand. I would recommend using a different firm solely based on how I was treated during that phone call.
  • I have never met with such an amateur attorney. Initially they have some powerhouse attorney get on the phone and ease all of your nerves to earn your business. Then they assign you someone who is clearly working one of their first cases.. The paperwork that my attorney submitted was nothing short of embarrassing. This was about my children's safety and I couldn't have been more let down by pacific cascade legal. THE ENTIRE TEAM failed me and my kids. I ended up having to get involved personally with the other sides attorney, and the grandparents. This was a open and closed case. The kids were safe with me. Somehow Pacific Cascade Legal managed to take something that should have been finished in two weeks, and milk it for tens of thousands of dollars. I ended up forcing them to finish it up. They tried to get custody evaluators involved (thousands $$$) They tried to have me get attorneys for my children (thousands$$$) They billed for so many unnecessary hours that I would never recommend them to anyone. It was like I was working with a legal student. I CLOSED MY CASE. THEY DID NOTHING EXCEPT RECOMMEND GIVING THE OTHER SIDE MORE AND MORE. In the end, after I fired them, they attempted to keep working for 2 weeks and try to bill me for it. They constantly hound you about money even though the account is still in the agreed upon balance.. I could go on for days. I figured it would let it go, but they keep spamming me about estate planning or to write them good reviews?! Heck no! With the thousands of attorneys in Oregon/Washington, I would pick a much smaller firm that views you as a person and not a number. In the end they did nothing but provide stress for my family, and steal from our modest budget. Yes, I have my kids, but I feel like they actively tried to add stress to my children's lives for their own personal gain. Pretty Evil.
  • When I was looking for a lawyer, I knew I needed someone who could navigate a complex and challenging situation with intelligence, strategy, and confidence. Natalie at Pacific Cascade Legal, along with her paralegal Shanni, exceeded every expectation. Natalie has been described as a bulldog, and that reputation is well-earned—but what makes her exceptional is that she doesn’t just bulldoze. She’s incredibly smart, strategic, and thoughtful, knowing exactly when to push and when to hold back. She has the emotional intelligence to read the courtroom, the courage to stand firm, and the foresight to make decisions that not only strengthened my case in the moment but also set me up for long-term success. Over the course of an 18-month legal process that was often delayed by opposing tactics, Natalie and Shanni remained patient, supportive, and steadfast. Natalie anticipated challenges, adapted quickly to unexpected twists, and even used the opposition’s missteps to our advantage. At critical moments, her decisions made all the difference. Beyond their legal expertise, what truly set Natalie and Shanni apart was their willingness to collaborate and ensure I was informed and confident throughout the process. They took the time to explain my options, listen to my concerns, and incorporate my insights. Navigating the legal system can be overwhelming, but working with them was empowering. For anyone facing a complex legal battle, I can’t recommend Natalie and her team highly enough. Their combination of skill, strategy, and support made all the difference in my case.

It is essential to address the significant negative feedback present in the provided customer reviews. These reviews raise serious concerns about the firm's service quality, communication practices, and billing. One review details a deeply troubling experience involving alleged attorney switching without explanation, an attorney's absence from a court date, a perceived lack of advocacy in court, continued billing after being informed of an inability to pay for trial, and a failure to appear at trial due to non-payment, followed by a threat of sending the account to collections. The client explicitly labels the firm as a "money grab" and states they were "left with less rights than we started," indicating a profound level of dissatisfaction and alleging unethical practices.

Another review echoes extreme disappointment, reporting that a $3,000 retainer was paid with "absolutely no assistance in return." The client recounts an initial positive consultation regarding probate matters but states that after paying the retainer, communication ceased. Numerous attempts to contact the firm were allegedly met with no response from the assigned attorney, Michael Trotter, with the only contact being a receptionist who repeatedly promised callbacks that never occurred. This client explicitly states feeling "completely scammed and robbed" and advises caution to others considering doing business with Pacific Cascade Legal.

These critical reviews highlight potential issues with communication, attorney availability, billing practices, and the overall delivery of legal services at Pacific Cascade Legal. Potential clients must carefully consider this feedback as it provides firsthand accounts of recent customer experiences. While every business can have isolated negative reviews, the severity and nature of these accounts warrant thorough consideration and due diligence.

Given the serious nature of the complaints detailed in the customer reviews, it is impossible to present any positive "features" or "promotional information" based solely on the provided data. Instead, the most responsible approach is to highlight the concerns raised by past clients. These concerns include:

  • Poor Communication: Allegations of a complete cessation of communication after retainer payment and failure to return phone calls and emails.
  • Lack of Attorney Availability: Reports of assigned attorneys being unresponsive and, in one instance, failing to appear for a court date.
  • Questionable Billing Practices: Claims of accumulating substantial fees even after being informed of an inability to pay and for services allegedly not rendered.
  • Lack of Effective Representation: A client described their attorneys as "weak" in court and felt they received no assistance despite paying a retainer.
  • Unprofessional Conduct: Allegations of unethical practices and a lack of courtesy in handling client matters.

Potential clients in Portland, Oregon, seeking legal representation should be aware of these serious allegations and conduct thorough due diligence before engaging the services of Pacific Cascade Legal. This due diligence might include seeking additional reviews from other sources, checking the firm's standing with the Oregon State Bar, and carefully discussing all aspects of representation, including communication protocols, attorney assignments, and billing practices, before any financial commitment is made.

In conclusion, Pacific Cascade Legal is located in Portland, Oregon, at 9320 SW Barbur Blvd # 160, and is listed as a "Nearby Lawyer." However, recent customer reviews raise significant concerns regarding their service quality, communication, and billing practices. Potential clients are strongly advised to carefully review this feedback and conduct thorough research before considering engaging this firm for their legal needs. Contacting the firm directly at (503) 573-5566 to discuss these concerns and their approach to client service is highly recommended as part of the due diligence process.
