Olson Shaner Introduce
Welcome to Nearby Lawyers, your local online platform for exploring legal services in your community. In this category, we are providing information about Olson Shaner, a law office located at 2200 S. 1600 W. #100, West Valley City, UT 84119, USA. For residents of West Valley City and the surrounding areas in Utah who are seeking legal assistance, it is important to consider all available information, including feedback from previous clients, to make an informed decision.
The office of Olson Shaner is situated in a commercial building on South 1600 West in West Valley City. While specific details about the office environment, such as its interior design or amenities, are not available online, its location suggests a standard professional setting for conducting legal consultations and business. Accessibility for local residents in the West Valley City area is likely a key feature of its location.
The provided information includes two customer reviews that offer direct insights into their experiences with Olson Shaner. It is crucial to consider these perspectives when evaluating this legal practice. One reviewer states that they contacted the office regarding issues with their spouse's Army pay and requested flexibility with a payment. According to this review, the individual they spoke with was "disgustingly rude and unwilling to be helpful or understanding" of their situation, potentially leading to a breach of contract and increased debt. This feedback raises concerns about the firm's approach to customer service and their willingness to accommodate clients facing unforeseen financial difficulties, even those related to military service.
The second review details a longer-term experience with Olson Shaner regarding debt repayment. This reviewer claims to have consistently made payments and was even ahead on their payment plan. However, after experiencing a house fire that led to a single late payment, the reviewer alleges that Olson Shaner canceled their entire payment plan and attempted to summon them to court. The reviewer further states that the firm showed no understanding or willingness to work with them despite the difficult circumstances. Additionally, this reviewer expresses strong dissatisfaction with the payment process, noting the lack of payment updates via email and the need to call in every few months to ascertain the remaining balance. They strongly recommend keeping meticulous records of all payments due to these issues and express a preference for dealing directly with the courts rather than with Olson Shaner's customer service.
Based on the limited information and the nature of the negative reviews, it appears that Olson Shaner may primarily focus on debt collection services. While this is not explicitly stated as their sole area of practice, the context of the customer feedback strongly suggests this specialization. Therefore, potential legal services offered by Olson Shaner might include:
- Debt Collection: Representing creditors in the process of recovering outstanding debts from individuals or businesses. This appears to be the primary area reflected in the customer reviews.
- Enforcement of Judgments: Taking legal action to ensure that court judgments related to debt are satisfied. The mention of a potential court summons in one review aligns with this possibility.
- Negotiation of Payment Plans: While the customer reviews indicate negative experiences in this area, debt collection firms sometimes engage in negotiating payment arrangements with debtors.
- Legal Action for Debt Recovery: Initiating lawsuits to recover unpaid debts. The threat of court action mentioned in one review suggests this is a tool they utilize.
It is important to note that the absence of positive reviews and the specific negative feedback regarding customer service and inflexibility in handling payment issues should be carefully considered by potential clients. While every legal practice may encounter some negative feedback, the themes present in these reviews raise concerns about the client experience, particularly for individuals facing financial hardship or unforeseen circumstances.
Given the nature of the available feedback, there is no indication of any promotional information or special offers associated with Olson Shaner. The focus of the reviews is on the challenges clients have faced in their interactions with the firm, rather than any positive attributes or incentives.
For local users in the Nearby Lawyers platform category, the information available about Olson Shaner, particularly the direct feedback from previous clients, presents a cautionary perspective. While the firm is located in West Valley City and provides legal services, the reported issues with customer service, lack of understanding towards clients facing hardship, and potentially rigid approach to payment plans should be carefully weighed. Individuals seeking legal assistance, especially those dealing with debt-related matters, may want to consider these experiences when making their decision.
To gain a more comprehensive understanding of Olson Shaner's practices and to hear their perspective, potential clients may wish to contact their office directly at (801) 363-9966 or +1 801-363-9966. However, it would be prudent to approach such contact with the experiences of previous clients in mind and to ask specific questions about their policies regarding payment plans, handling of late payments due to extenuating circumstances, and customer service protocols. It is also advisable to seek information from multiple sources and potentially consider other legal options in the West Valley City area to ensure a positive and supportive legal experience.
In conclusion, Olson Shaner, located at 2200 S. 1600 W. #100 in West Valley City, UT, appears to be a law firm that may focus on debt collection. The available customer reviews highlight significant concerns regarding the firm's customer service, lack of understanding or flexibility towards clients facing financial difficulties (including those related to military service and personal emergencies), and potentially rigid payment plan management. Potential clients should carefully consider this feedback and conduct thorough due diligence before engaging their services. While direct contact with the firm may provide additional information, the experiences shared by previous clients warrant a cautious approach and consideration of alternative legal representation in the West Valley City area.

My husband just got sent on active duty for the Army and we are experiencing issues with his pay. I called to see if they would be willing to skip this month’s payment or wait until we can make a payment and the lady that I spoke to was just disgustingly rude and unwilling to be helpful or understanding of our situation. And unfortunately for us, this will most likely break our contract and put us into more debt and strain. We have always made our monthly payments. These people don’t care about anyone, including people who fight for their freedom and safety in this country.
Not the biggest fan of Olson Shaner. I have been paying off a debt with them for over 2 years now. I was never late or missed a payment. I actually have been ahead on my payment plan with them. My family and i experienced our house catching on fire which lead me late to 1 payment and they canceled my whole payment plan and was trying to summons me to court again for breaking their payment plan. I had to call and even tell them I was willing to go fight this in court due to the situation my family was in. They did not give any understandings or even gave a single bit of lead way to being able to work with me. I also absolutely HATE the way they have you pay. They don’t sent you a email to update date you on any of your payments. I have to call in and see how much i still owe them every few months. I highly recommend to screenshot every receipt you get from your payment so you have the date, time and proof in every way you have made your payment. I would rather deal with the actual courts and go that route rather than dealing with this company and their customer service you get to talk to.
These guys do not want to work with you. I offered to make payments and to pay in full multiple times. But I was working with Freedom Debt Relief. So they would not let me pay them and told me I had to work with Freedom Debt Relief to resolve the issue. It took a while to get everything resolved. And they ended up charging me an additional 1,500 dollars in a matter of a month and a half. Freedom Debt Relief tried to work and communicate with them, but they just took advantage of the fact that they are a company and charged late fees up the wazzoo. I called and did due diligence, but they refused to understand my situation or try to work with me. What a horrible company, business model, and people. Try to stay out of collections, and try to stay away from these guys!
horrible customer service. They truly don't care about the people they work with at all. Somehow these people are even more scummy than regular lawyers. Not to mention they make paying bills as painful as possible in the hope that you either accidentally don't pay, or don't pay in full. that way they can tack on some more fees at the end. Any company looking to work with these people should seriously consider going with someone more ethical.
Yep! I owed money that I didn't pay. Yep I deserved to go to collections. Yep I set up arrangements. Yep I underpaid them by 14 dollars. When I noticed it and made up the difference they took me off the payment plan and told me they wouldn't budge even though she could see that it was a mistake. They tacked on legal fees, I get it. What I don't get is that I called and talked to someone, made a payment for 400 and the person I talked to told me that I had 300 left. As long as I was paying I should be fine and they have to notify me if they are going to garnish my wages. So I paid more the next month. Oh wow! I was garnished another 320 not even a month later with no notice. So yes, my bad, however, I think they are shady and unethical. I get legal fees but when you're paying 125 every month (400 one month) and making effort I think it's a bit much to tack on another 100 and then garnish you without notice. Moral of the story if you owe 68 bucks, borrow it if you have to. If it ends up here you will pay 1095. in spite of your best efforts.
