I realized this morning that victims have no rights in this city. Prosecutors are rude when you’re trying to explain what you’ve been through. They behave as if you are the bad person in the situation. Almost like they are laughing at you after they read your charges you are bringing against the guilty party. I can almost guarantee that the Jefferson county jail is filled with victims who attempted to file charges but recieved no help and had to protect themselves the best way they could. Victims are silenced. Our voices stripped from us. I truly believe that the only time Jefferson county prosecutors care about the victims is when they are prosecuting the victims for protecting themselves. And I don’t mean that in a good way. It seems as if victims are wanted to commit a crime to protect themselves so that the prosecutors can have a bigger case prosecuting the victims. I would love to know what the percentage is when it comes to exactly how many victims are being prosecuted for protecting themselves against their aggressors. Thank God I can retire soon and get out of a toxic city with prosecutors and a system that cares nothing for victims.

One prosecutor was very kind and friendly, but signed me up for traffic school, not realizing I couldn't do it; so a month and 2 days off work wasted there. Then on my second visit, had a woman pretty much try to intimidate me into admitting guilt in court the day they explained I wasn't eligible for traffic school, I assume because she didn't want to do any extra work. Really sad. Same woman got frustrated and refused to answer questions I had, as this is the first ticket I've ever received. First interaction was positive, although misguided. Second interaction was absolutely deplorable.

They're criminal how they pick up cases for the ones that falsify criminal reports and believe those people that are the true villains know how to pretend and make untrue stories and manipulate the system and the real victim pays the price.
