- Estate Planning: This encompasses a wide array of services aimed at helping individuals plan for the distribution of their assets after their passing, as well as planning for potential incapacity during their lifetime. This includes drafting wills, revocable and irrevocable trusts, powers of attorney (both financial and healthcare), and advance healthcare directives. Their goal is to help clients create comprehensive estate plans that reflect their wishes, minimize taxes, and avoid probate where possible.
- Trust Administration: Assisting trustees in managing and distributing assets held in trust. This involves understanding the terms of the trust document, fulfilling fiduciary duties, and navigating the legal and financial aspects of trust administration.
- Probate: Representing executors and administrators in the legal process of administering a deceased person's estate when there is no trust or when probate is otherwise necessary. This includes validating the will (if one exists), identifying and valuing assets, paying debts and taxes, and distributing the remaining assets to beneficiaries.
- Conservatorship: Assisting individuals and families in establishing legal conservatorships for adults who are no longer able to manage their own financial affairs or personal care due to incapacity. This involves navigating the court process to appoint a responsible party to make decisions on behalf of the incapacitated person.
- Special Needs Planning: Helping families plan for the long-term care and financial security of individuals with disabilities. This often involves creating special needs trusts that can provide for the beneficiary without jeopardizing their eligibility for government benefits such as Medi-Cal and SSI.
- Medi-Cal Planning (Long-Term Care Planning): Providing guidance to individuals and families on strategies to qualify for Medi-Cal benefits to help pay for long-term care expenses, such as nursing home care, while preserving assets to the greatest extent possible under the law. This area often involves complex rules and regulations.

Honestly couldn’t believe our luck when we connected with Fernando and his team at O.C. Estate & Elder Law to help us navigate and settle my aunt’s probate estate. Instead of being overwhelmed, Fernando Orrego made the process feel manageable and human. Very patient and efficient. Taking pause to explain legal matters when needed in a manner that made the process far less intimidating was always appreciated. You can tell he has a big heart. Once we wrapped up our aunt’s affairs, Fernando and his team helped us organize and establish my brother’s paperwork, so we won’t have to go through the probate process again. Immensely grateful to have the peace of mind. I live outside the state of Florida, otherwise I would have also used O.C. Estate & Elder Law to assist with my own estate planning. Highly recommend!
It was a pleasure working with Attorney Fernando, Marfy and staff at OC Estate & Elder Law. They made the process easy, were responsive, patient and are extremely professional and knowledgeable. I already sent family and friends to them. I highly recommend OC Estate & Elder Law! Thank you for all your help, Fernando.
My mother and father are currently in the process of moving out to New Mexico to retire. We went in to OC Estate & Elder Law with the the intentions of figuring out their estate and will before they make the move. I wanted to make sure all of our ducks are in a row before the move and make sure our family is all taken care of. We immediately felt at home and confident we were in good hands when we met with Natasha. She made sure that all of our bases were covered and she went into detail and was very thorough in explaining all the steps in the process and what we can expect. More importantly, my parents both felt very comfortable and taken care of. For anyone trying to navigate the processes and hardships of wills, trusts, elder law, or anything in between, I HIGHLY recommend visiting the good folks at OC Estate & Elder Law. Natasha and Fernando are not only consummate professionals but just really good people who care about you and your family.
