Kendra hook was my lawyer, on this case, she did an amazing job, was there for every step of the way, answered every single phone call and every single question I had. She made everything very easy to understand. She’s great at what she does and she does it best with her assistant Lucy, who is always amazing with follow ups and she’s on top of every update. She always makes sure to call back and send reminders. Appreciate the both of them for such great work that they do. Most definitely recommend Mauricio, Longo, and Associates as your personal injury, lawyers.

I would strongly caution anyone considering Morici-Longo and Associates for a personal injury case. While going through the deposition process and building the case they were very friendly and engaging that led to believe the whole process would be that way, but I was incorrect. Throughout my experience once the case was built, it became evident to me that their approach prioritized convenience and quick resolution over securing the best possible outcome for me as a client. My case wasn't simple, however they were aware of the complicated details before taking it. Settlement Negotiation Failures – My attorney initially recommended settling for a significantly lower amount than what I ultimately secured by pushing back. In fact, by taking a more proactive role in negotiations, we were able to achieve 2.1x more than their initial recommendation in one area—a glaring indication that they were willing to leave money on the table rather than fight for the client’s rightful compensation. Lack of Diligence on Liens – Rather than challenging inflated medical liens, they appeared content to pay excessive amounts without much scrutiny. By taking matters into my own hands, I was able to reduce one lien payment by a staggering 6x—something I believe my legal team should have done as part of their fiduciary duty. This demonstrated to me either incompetence or a complete lack of concern for maximizing client recovery. Apathy Toward Client Interests – At every stage after depositions, they seemed more interested in wrapping things up quickly rather than advocating aggressively for my best interests. Whether it was rushing negotiations or failing to push back on lien reductions, their approach consistently leaned towards what was easiest for them rather than what was most beneficial for me. While they may have handled the basic legal process, their performance fell far short of what I believe anyone should expect from a competent personal injury attorney. If you want someone who will truly fight for you and maximize your settlement, I strongly suggest looking elsewhere.

This address suggests a professional and established urban office environment, typical of law firms in a major metropolitan area. The location in the West Loop, a vibrant and accessible part of Chicago, likely offers convenience for clients traveling from various parts of the city and surrounding suburbs. While no specific details about the interior design are available, law offices specializing in personal injury typically aim to create a welcoming yet professional atmosphere where clients can feel comfortable discussing sensitive matters related to their injuries and legal claims. The firm's presence within a multi-story commercial building on an upper floor implies a dedicated and private space for client consultations and legal work.
Morici, Longo & Associates specializes in personal injury law, representing individuals who have suffered harm due to the negligence or wrongdoing of others. Their scope of services, typical for a personal injury firm, would generally include:

The firm's approach, as gleaned from client feedback, involves assisting clients through the legal process, from initial consultations and evidence gathering to negotiation and, if necessary, litigation. They aim to secure compensation for medical expenses, lost wages, pain and suffering, and other damages incurred by their clients.
Morici, Longo & Associates possesses several features that shape its practice and client interactions. One prominent feature highlighted in a positive review is the accessibility and communication provided by specific members of their team. Kendra Hook, a lawyer, is lauded for being "there for every step of the way," answering "every single phone call and every single question," and making "everything very easy to understand." Her assistant, Lucy, is also commended for her "amazing with follow ups" and being "on top of every update," ensuring regular communication and reminders. This indicates a strong emphasis on client support, clear communication, and consistent updates throughout the legal process, which can be invaluable for clients navigating complex and often stressful personal injury claims. Such dedication to responsiveness and clarity aims to alleviate client anxiety and foster a sense of being well-informed and supported.
However, another review raises significant concerns regarding other aspects of the firm's features and approach. This client asserts that after the initial friendly engagement during the deposition process, the firm's approach shifted, prioritizing "convenience and quick resolution over securing the best possible outcome." Specific issues raised include:
- Settlement Negotiation: The client claims the attorney initially recommended a significantly lower settlement amount, and by taking a more proactive role in negotiations, the client was able to secure 2.1 times more than the firm's initial recommendation in one area. This suggests a potential lack of aggressive advocacy or a tendency to settle for less than optimal compensation.
- Lack of Diligence on Liens: The client alleges the firm appeared "content to pay excessive amounts without much scrutiny" on medical liens. The client personally intervened and reduced one lien payment by six times, indicating a perceived lack of fiduciary duty or competence in minimizing client recovery by challenging inflated costs.
- Apathy Toward Client Interests: The client felt that the firm was "more interested in wrapping things up quickly rather than advocating aggressively" for their best interests, citing a pattern of rushing negotiations and failing to push back on lien reductions.
These contrasting accounts highlight that while some clients experience exceptional communication and support, others perceive a potential deficiency in aggressive negotiation and diligence, particularly in maximizing client recovery. This indicates that the firm's performance and client satisfaction may vary depending on the specific attorney assigned to a case and the perceived complexity or value of the claim.
The promotional message for Morici, Longo & Associates, as derived from the provided information, is multifaceted. The positive testimonial serves as a strong endorsement, positioning the firm, particularly through the efforts of Kendra Hook and Lucy, as highly communicative, supportive, and effective personal injury lawyers. The direct recommendation to "Most definitely recommend Mauricio, Longo, and Associates as your personal injury, lawyers" acts as a powerful call to action, suggesting a high level of client satisfaction and trust in their services. This feedback would be prominently featured in promotional materials, emphasizing their client-centric communication and thorough follow-ups.
However, an objective introduction must also incorporate the significantly critical review. This negative feedback, while representing one client's experience, introduces a cautionary note. It suggests that while the firm may handle the "basic legal process," there might be inconsistencies in their commitment to maximizing client settlements and challenging all financial aspects of a claim. The detailed allegations of "Settlement Negotiation Failures," "Lack of Diligence on Liens," and "Apathy Toward Client Interests" could deter potential clients who prioritize aggressive advocacy and meticulous financial recovery. The strong concluding advice from this client, "If you want someone who will truly fight for you and maximize your settlement, I strongly suggest looking elsewhere," directly counteracts the positive promotional message.
Therefore, for local users searching under "Nearby Lawyers" for personal injury representation, Morici, Longo & Associates presents a mixed public perception. While some clients have experienced highly supportive and communicative service, others have raised serious concerns about the firm's advocacy in financial negotiations and lien management. Prospective clients would need to consider these varying experiences carefully, perhaps conducting further due diligence, such as discussing their specific expectations regarding negotiation aggressiveness and lien scrutiny during initial consultations, to determine if the firm's approach aligns with their individual needs and priorities for their personal injury claim.
