I found my mediation session with Ms. Charla Moore to be unproductive and unhelpful. From the outset, Ms. Moore appeared disinterested in the details of our case and displayed unprofessional conduct and apparent bias. She dismissed information with dismissive remarks such as, "I've seen it all before," and "I know your type." During the session, Ms. Moore raised her voice, made unfair judgments, and refused to consider pertinent information. Her strong bias against me was particularly concerning, especially given that I had received a primary custody recommendation from family services. This conduct, coupled with her lack of interest in understanding the situation, significantly hindered any productive discussion. I felt unheard and disrespected, exacerbating an already difficult situation and preventing any meaningful progress. In contested cases, emotions naturally run high, and Ms. Moore's behavior only intensified the conflict rather than fostering dialogue, reviewing the facts, and prioritizing the child's best interests. Ms. Moore appeared to be inflexible and preoccupied with her own perspective and biases. My personal opinion is I would not recommend her for custody mediation services.
A little pricy, but just like everything else, you get what you pay for. Charla Moore is very good at what she does. She was a judge for quite a few years. She's got a great sense of humor too!
Charla started the prepaid mediation session an hour late and did not reimburse me the money or my time. Charla did not take any time to ask me questions or to inquire about my concerns or desired outcome from the mediation. Charla really likes talking about herself so much so that it is a major distraction from her doing her job; my lawyer had to redirect her several times. I would not recommend her ever.
