Understanding the environment, services, features, and promotional aspects of this firm, as reflected in available online information, is crucial for local users seeking legal assistance.

The physical environment of Merkel & Conner is located within a recognizable landmark, the previously Chase Bank Building on SW 4th Avenue in Portland. The fact that it was previously a bank building might also imply a sense of established presence and accessibility.

Based on the firm's name and the limited customer reviews available, the services offered by Merkel & Conner appear to primarily focus on:

  • Personal Injury Law: Representing individuals who have suffered injuries due to the negligence or wrongdoing of others. This can encompass a wide range of incidents, including slip and falls, workplace accidents, and other injury-causing events.
  • Estate Planning: Assisting clients with the creation of wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and other legal documents necessary for planning the distribution of their assets and ensuring their wishes are carried out.
  • Car Accident Law: Specifically representing individuals who have been injured in motor vehicle accidents, helping them navigate insurance claims, and pursuing compensation for damages, medical expenses, and other losses.

The features of Merkel & Conner, as perceived through the lens of the limited and contrasting customer reviews, present a mixed picture. One client described their experience as "great," highlighting a "very smooth" process and clear explanations, leading to a willingness to recommend the firm. This suggests potential strengths in client communication and process efficiency for some individuals. However, another review paints a starkly negative picture, alleging incompetence of a former attorney, loss of communication, and dissatisfaction with the handling of a case, including a last-minute decision not to go to trial. This review raises concerns about the consistency of legal representation and case management within the firm. The mention of a specific former attorney, Catherine Goodwin, and the overall negative assessment of the firm's competence and professionalism are significant points of consideration.

For local users in Portland, Oregon, considering Merkel & Conner for their legal needs in personal injury, estate planning, or car accidents, the available information presents a need for careful consideration. While one client reported a positive and smooth experience, the other provided a highly critical account, citing serious issues with attorney competence and case handling. To gain a more comprehensive understanding of the firm's current practices, expertise, and client satisfaction levels, it would be advisable for potential clients to conduct further research, seek additional reviews if available, and potentially schedule a consultation to discuss their specific legal needs and assess the firm's suitability.

When choosing a nearby lawyer, it is essential to consider not only their stated areas of expertise but also their reputation and the experiences of past clients. The limited and conflicting reviews for Merkel & Conner suggest a degree of variability in client satisfaction. Therefore, local users should weigh the positive feedback against the serious allegations made in the negative review. Further investigation into the firm's current team of attorneys, their qualifications, and their track record in handling cases similar to the prospective client's needs would be a prudent step.

In conclusion, Merkel & Conner | Personal Injury and Estate Planning | Portland Car Accident Lawyers, located in Portland, Oregon, indicates a focus on providing legal services in personal injury, estate planning, and car accident cases. While one client reported a positive experience characterized by a smooth process and clear communication, another client expressed extreme dissatisfaction, alleging attorney incompetence and poor case handling. Contacting them at (503) 222-0056 may provide further clarity, but the existing online feedback suggests a cautious approach is warranted.

Worst Lawfirm I have ever used Period! They had a attorney in there Law firm that was so incompetent I had to release her and she lost my emails after a year waiting. Then my case was handled by another one of there attorneys and he told me we had a pretty good case until he said at the last minute they didn't want to go to trial but before he probably had a good case, the man didn't even own a car. Total rookie. Thinking about suing them for malpractice that other lady Catherine Goodwin who was a total riff Raff bulshit run around lawyer The firm sucks

I was referred to Merkel and Conner from a friend who they had helped with a car accident suit and he said they took care of everything. Onboarding was very simple and their follow up process was extremely throughout and consistent. I’m very thankful to Aryeh and his team being in my corner and helping me get this resolved far better than I would’ve been able to on my own. Got great advice and ideas of how to move forward and am thankful for their wisdom and guidance. I hope I never have to see then again (cause that would mean something else happens) but if I do, they’ll be the first I call. Thanks ya’ll! :)

Katherine is amazing! She has answered every question, no matter how silly it seems very thoroughly. She’s very knowledgeable and made this entire experience pretty smooth. I would recommend her to anyone who needs representation. We appreciate all the kindness and appreciate the hard work that Katherine and the entire front office staff has shown us throughout the entire process. -Carlos
