Let me preface this with the fact that I know the law and know my case. I just do not have the connections that "legal professional" in the field has to facilitate the timely delivery of discovery. These guys send in whatever first year law student they can scrape off of the bottom of the University of Phoenix Online roster to consult with you about your case and gather information. He will then pass it onto the attorneys in another room. Don't be alarmed by the terrible job he did shaving his neck, it's his first beard, also obviously his first suit from the Men's Warehouse clearance rack. The only thing that this could possibly remind you of is buying a car with bad credit. The errand boy leaves and comes back over and over essentially insulting your case (insulting your credit) and saying that it's going to take thousands of dollars (more money down). He won't even give you a tangible price structure, just ask if you would like to sign on for the retainer. Practically handed them a case to make a killing on, but they only want people that are going to pay ~$5000 for a shoddy defense to a slightly lesser plea. That being said they clearly lack the competence to do any complex litigation to achieve a decent win. Do yourself a favor and don't even waste your time, this is a plea factory with legal system grifters exploiting their clients' misfortune for a quick buck. All for people out to make money, but at least make an attempt at being honest with your clients. DEFINITELY go with a public defender if you can't afford anyone better than this discount hack shop.
