I was referred to Brittanie by a trusted friend in the legal field, and I will always be grateful for that connection. I reached out to Brittanie the evening I learned I was getting a divorce. Despite being busy with another matter, she took the time to inform me about the next steps and what I needed to be aware of. Although there was a brief wait before we could officially begin working together, I knew from the start that choosing Brittanie was the best decision I could make. I wanted her by my side as I navigated one of the most difficult experiences of my life. Divorce is incredibly challenging, but Brittanie made the process more manageable. There were several unusual challenges thrown our way as well as several other specialty attorneys that had to be brought on and she handled it all with great confidence. Throughout my lengthy case—lasting nearly three years and involving several attorney changes from the other side—Brittanie’s dedication and focus never wavered. I never once felt that my case was anything less than a priority to her. She was always so quick to get back to me. The patience and professionalism she demonstrated were truly impressive. If you are facing a divorce, I cannot recommend Brittanie highly enough. Her work ethic, responsiveness, legal expertise, communication skills, and genuine compassion are exactly what you want in your corner during such a difficult time.

As I sit here today looking around at the love surrounding the second life and home I have created, with my 3 healthy & happy children by my side, I often think of the immense gratitude I have for Brittanie Matteson. When I first met Brittanie, I had spent years in an unhappy home that rarely felt safe & was void of love. I threw myself into work & my children, working way too many hours & endlessly volunteering for any position at their school that would keep me close to them & keep us away from home. I was a shell of my prior self, one I no longer even recognized, & I was terrified that the endless family funds afforded to my ex would make it nearly impossible to get myself the proper representation that could stand up to the opposing party. When I sat down with Brittanie at our introduction meeting, the first thing I noticed was that she is no nonsense. She had no desire to waste my time or bill me for minutes that were spent chit chatting about the weather. She wanted to get down to the brass tacks & give me a realistic summary of my situation & next steps. At the time, there was another attorney involved that had a very different approach (this was just before moving to this office with Ross - just to be clear that the other attorney is no one in her current office) & I immediately knew who I wanted to work with as my main attorney. I watched as Brittanie (who stands maybe 5' 6" tall on a good day!!) stand up to the first attorney the opposing party hired. Then the second. Then the third. Every time they felt the scales tip in my direction, the opposing party would hire a fancier & more expensive legal team. This woman believed that my children & I deserved a second chance at happiness so strongly, that she stood tall to FOUR TEAMS of lawyers, by herself, at every hearing. Watching her unwavering bravery ultimately gave me the strength to carry on & believe in myself as well. Divorce & custody fights are the most draining & painful thing to go through. It's agonizing & you spend a lot of time questioning what the best next step is. Brittanie stayed by my side the entire time, she always took my calls, answered my emails, listened to my fears & never let me take my foot off the gas pedal (even when I made it really difficult for her - trust me.) I really feel like anyone else would have given up hope & no one would have stayed in the trenches with me for as long as Brittanie did. At our first meeting, Brittanie said to me "I know this feels really scary & you are worried that it will ruin your family forever, I get that, but I'm telling you that when this is all over we will sit down together, not as attorney/client but as friends, and you will be able to tell me how much happier all of you are BECAUSE of what you are choosing to do today. Your family will all be better for it." I've never been able to forget that sentence because it was true. We are all, my ex included & especially our children, a happier co-parenting family than we ever were before as a traditional one. If you are looking for someone to help you see through all the legal babble, be more than fair with your billed time, and to suit up to jump in the trenches with you, call Brittanie Matteson. You won't regret it.

My son is about to turn 17 and his father and I have had an extremely tumultuous relationship since our son was just under one. I met Ross at again a very hard time, but what parent can not say that when their child(ren) are involved. I have been in and out of court at least every other year until just recently and Ross was the major help that I needed. I won't bother with my "sob" story, but you do need to understand one thing about me to understand why Ross is someone that I wish I would had met years earlier. If I had, I truly feel me, our son, his father, and our family and friends would have been spared years of sadness and stress. When it comes to my son, I get scared; whether it is rational or not. With all my past lawyers, from the beginning, I express exactly what I want and to not let me change my mind just because I am scared. Every lawyer I have ever had, sans Ross, starts off fighting for me and my son, but at my first sign of hesitation because I was scared of the judge, he or she would stop fighting for my case and look for the easy way out. I always left feeling like I could have gotten what we gave in to if we lost my case, but at least my side would been heard. Instead, I always wondered "what if?". I told Ross what I wanted and throughout everything, he ALWAYS offered his opinion as a lawyer and tried to guide me to the decision that was in my SONS best interest. He always guided me, never forced me to take his opinion. He fought to the best of his ability in what I wanted for my family and reassured me that being scared was normal, but to always remember why I came to him in the first place. Reminded me to keep Owen in my thoughts and not let my being afraid lose sight of my end goal. He, of course, did what we had to do according to law, but he is the ONLY lawyer that I felt when leaving the courtroom, we did all we could and I had no regrets. Every time I emailed or called, he responded in a very timely. He did this also when he emailed my son's dad. I have also never seen someone right an email to my son's father like he did. He was forceful, but polite and respectful, and always made me feel better after reading them. I felt at ease. All in all, Ross makes Family Law as easy as it can be. He lessens the load on you so you can focus on your family while he does what he needs to do as the lawyer. I recommend his office, Ross in particular, to handle anything you may need regarding your family. He's always there for your child or children first and foremost, but is always fighting for you as well Nicole W.

Describing the anguish of a custody battle is beyond words, but I survived it thanks to Ross’s expert advice and support. I have never had to seek legal council before and feel so lucky to have come across a FB Mom’s group that recommended Ross. He guided me through the long process and I never felt out of the loop. He demonstrated a high level moral integrity at all times and we worked out an agreement that maintained fairness for all parties. Ross worked really hard for someone he never met (due to Covid it was all virtual) and he definitely won my respect. I highly recommend his services!
