Lisa Kenny Law Office Introduce
This introduction provides an overview of the legal practice of Lisa Kenny Law Office, situated at 707 Broadway # 1800, San Diego, CA 92101, USA, as listed within our "Nearby Lawyers" platform category. For local users seeking legal representation, it is crucial to have a comprehensive understanding of potential legal service providers. This introduction aims to present an objective view of the practice based on the limited information available online, including recent customer feedback which presents a range of experiences.
Professional Environment and Accessibility:
Lisa Kenny Law Office operates from a suite located in a commercial building on Broadway in San Diego. The address suggests a central location within the downtown area, offering accessibility for clients from various parts of San Diego County seeking legal counsel. Being located in a professional building likely means the office provides a standard setting for legal consultations. However, one review raises a significant concern regarding the handling of sensitive client information within the shared public lobby of the building, which could impact the perceived security and professionalism of the environment.
Potential Scope of Legal Services:
One positive review mentions Lisa Kenny having a "great understanding of family law" and providing guidance in this area. Additionally, one negative review references the preparation of a "Marital Settlement Agreement (MSA)," which is a document typically associated with divorce or legal separation cases, also falling under family law. Based on this limited information, it is reasonable to infer that Lisa Kenny Law Office likely offers legal services in the area of family law. This could include divorce, child custody and support, spousal support, division of property, and the preparation of marital settlement agreements. However, without further information, the full scope of legal services offered by the practice remains unclear. Individuals with legal needs outside of family law should directly inquire with the office to determine if their specific requirements can be met.
Observed Features and Concerns Based on Reviews:
The available customer reviews present a mixed picture of the Lisa Kenny Law Office, with some significant concerns raised alongside a positive comment. The key observations from these reviews are:
- Negative Feedback on Client Service and Billing: One reviewer describes an experience of paying for a Marital Settlement Agreement and then encountering resistance when requesting corrections to factual errors, including a refusal to provide a hard copy. This raises concerns about attention to detail and client service post-payment.
- Serious Breach of Confidentiality Allegation: A particularly alarming review details an alleged incident where the attorney left the client's personal profile, including sensitive banking information, tax returns, and other confidential data, unsecured in a public lobby overnight. This, if accurate, represents a severe breach of client confidentiality and professional negligence.
- Questionable Billing Practices: Another reviewer recounts a situation involving billing for time claimed to have started before the scheduled appointment, without prior agreement or clear proof, and rounded up in a potentially unfavorable way for the client. This raises concerns about transparency and fairness in billing practices.
- Positive Feedback on Family Law Understanding and Professionalism: In contrast to the negative reviews, one reviewer describes Lisa Kenny as "awesome," professional, and having a great understanding of family law, recommending her for guidance in this area.
The stark contrast between the positive and negative feedback makes it challenging to form a definitive overall assessment. However, the serious nature of the allegations in the negative reviews, particularly regarding the handling of confidential information and billing practices, warrants significant consideration for potential clients.
Inferred Promotional Considerations vs. Client Experiences:
Typically, a law office would promote its expertise, client dedication, ethical standards, and positive client outcomes. The positive review aligns with these potential promotional aspects, highlighting professionalism and understanding of family law. However, the negative reviews directly contradict some of these fundamental expectations, particularly concerning client service, ethical handling of confidential information, and transparent billing practices.
Potential clients would typically seek assurances of:
- Competent Legal Service: Demonstrated knowledge and skill in the relevant area of law.
- Professional Conduct and Ethical Standards: Including the secure handling of sensitive client information and adherence to billing transparency.
- Respectful and Responsive Client Service: Including a willingness to address errors and provide necessary documents.
- Clear and Fair Billing Practices: Ensuring clients understand how they are being charged for legal services.
The negative reviews raise significant doubts about whether these assurances are consistently met by Lisa Kenny Law Office, despite the one positive review suggesting competence in family law.

Very mean. I paid her almost $1000.00 to do the MSA for me. She gave it to me in the soft copy to go over at home. After reviewing, I found 3 incorrect information. One was a typo, the other 2 she typed incorrect information. I sent her an email requested to correct them. She said, " I should have to correct them by myself." She even refused to print it out so I can have it in hard copy for my filing records. To be a lawyer, she acted like she was born yesterday by leaving my personal profile included banking information, tax return copies, personal confidential information in the public lobby of the building sharing by 16 different lawyers overnight so that anyone could access and steal my personal identity. She did not even put them in the seal envelope, or in a folder. I was totally shocked when I came in to pick up. What a smart lawyer! It is very tricky, my appointment was at 8:30am. I was there at 8:15am to be ready in the lobby. She came in after me about 5', and walked up stairs to open her office. About 5' later, she came down to walk me up to her office. After finishing to prepare my Marital Settlement Agreement at 11:00AM, she told me that she started working with me 6' before 8:30AM, and she charged by increment. Therefore, it was additionally rounded up by her way, which costed around $80.00 more for that additional time she claimed for without proof,(her fee is $300.00/hr.). Before sitting, she did not inform me that it was few minutes early. I got no proof what time it was started since she has no stopwatch on her desk. I made an appointment with her at 8:30AM. I was simply thought it was the time so she went down stairs to get me in her office. I was not asked to agree starting my appointment earlier at all, and informed it was not my scheduled time yet.
Lisa is awesome! She has provided guidance for myself and several friends! I always recommend her as she is very professional and has a great understanding of family law.
Lisa Kenny helped me very much during a very difficult custody case. My family, and I are very grateful.
