Liars and scammers. Do your due diligence if you receive a call or letter stating you owe a government entity money.

Had a great experience in my dealings with this firm, especially Charles Brady. He was knowledgeable, communicative, and helped solve a problem quickly and effectively. As a CEO who doesn’t have time to waste chasing down answers, I have a special appreciation for his professionalism. I strongly recommend this firm.

They are very resourceful you have 1 or 2 that take their job too serious and not try and relate with you as a person but if you get Mrs Collen she a 5star status in helping. You will hang up very satisfied. I only rated them 4 stars for the 2 bad apples i encountered.

About Linebarger Goggan Blair
For individuals and businesses across Texas, encountering communications from a law firm regarding outstanding government obligations can be a source of confusion and concern. In Fort Worth, Linebarger Goggan Blair & Sampson LLP is a prominent legal firm that plays a critical role in the financial health of public sector entities throughout the state and nationally. Since its founding in 1976 as a small tax collection firm, Linebarger Goggan Blair & Sampson, LLP (often referred to simply as Linebarger or LGBS) has grown to become one of the largest government-debt collectors in the country. Their unique specialization lies in assisting state and local government agencies with the collection of delinquent accounts receivable, including unpaid taxes, fines, fees, parking tickets, traffic citations, and toll violations.
While the nature of their work often places them in direct contact with citizens regarding outstanding debts, their overarching mission is to help government clients recover essential funds. By doing so, they enable these entities to provide vital public services without resorting to unnecessary tax increases or cuts. Linebarger employs various strategies, from demand letters and outbound calls to skip tracing and, when necessary, litigation, to resolve these delinquencies. For Texans who receive communication from Linebarger, understanding their role and process is the first step toward resolving any outstanding governmental obligations.
Linebarger Goggan Blair & Sampson LLP has a significant presence in Fort Worth, Texas, with their main office located at 100 Throckmorton St # 1700, Fort Worth, TX 76102, USA. This prominent downtown Fort Worth address places them in a highly accessible area for individuals and businesses across the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex and the broader North Texas region.
The firm's strategic location in the urban core means it is easily reachable via various modes of transportation. Whether you are driving from nearby cities, utilizing Fort Worth's public transport system, or arriving from local airports, accessing their office is generally straightforward. The central position also means proximity to city and county government buildings, which can be convenient for certain administrative or legal processes. While parking in a downtown area can sometimes require planning, there are typically commercial parking garages or lots available in the vicinity. This accessibility is key to allowing citizens to address their governmental debt matters efficiently.
Linebarger Goggan Blair & Sampson LLP specializes exclusively in the collection of delinquent accounts receivable for public sector clientele. Their services are designed to help government entities recover outstanding funds, thereby enabling them to maintain and improve public services. Their core services include:
- Government Debt Collection: This is the primary service, focusing on collecting various types of overdue payments owed to governmental bodies at the city, county, and state levels. This includes:
- Delinquent Property Taxes: Pursuing the collection of unpaid property taxes on behalf of local tax assessor/collectors' offices. This can involve sending demand letters, engaging in outbound call campaigns, and, if necessary, assisting with foreclosure proceedings.
- Unpaid Fines and Fees: Collecting outstanding municipal fines, court fees, and other governmental charges.
- Parking Tickets and Traffic Citations: Recovering payments for overdue parking violations and traffic tickets.
- Toll Violations: Addressing unpaid tolls and associated administrative fees.
- Unpaid Utility Bills: For public utility providers, collecting delinquent utility accounts.
- Skip Tracing: Utilizing methods to locate debtors who have not responded to initial collection attempts, ensuring that communications reach the intended parties.
- Demand Letters and Outbound Call Campaigns: Implementing structured communication strategies to remind debtors of their obligations and facilitate repayment plans.
- Litigation: When other collection efforts fail, the firm assists government entities in initiating legal action to establish or collect on delinquent debts through judicial processes. This can involve:
- Pre-judgment Remedies: Securing or seizing a debtor's assets before a court judgment is finalized, particularly when there's a risk the debtor may not have funds later.
- Post-judgment Remedies: Pursuing enforcement of judgments, which can include garnishments, liens, or other measures to satisfy the debt.
- Customized Collection Programs: Developing tailored collection strategies for specific government clients based on their unique needs and the types of debts they are trying to recover.
It is important for Texans to understand that Linebarger Goggan Blair & Sampson LLP acts on behalf of government entities and their role is to facilitate the collection of legitimate outstanding debts.
Linebarger Goggan Blair & Sampson LLP possesses several features and highlights that define its operations and position within the legal landscape, particularly concerning its specialization in government collections:
- National Leader in Government Collections: The firm has grown to become one of the largest and most prominent law firms in the U.S. exclusively dedicated to collecting delinquent accounts receivable for public sector clients. This specialization is a major highlight, indicating deep expertise in this niche area.
- Decades of Experience: With over 40 years of experience (founded in 1976), Linebarger has developed extensive institutional knowledge and refined collection strategies tailored specifically for governmental entities.
- Diverse Public Sector Clientele: They serve a vast array of public sector clients, including cities, counties, school districts, public hospitals, toll road authorities, and other government agencies across 22 states. This wide client base speaks to their significant reach and established reputation within the public sector.
- Focus on Supporting Public Services: A core aspect of their mission is to help government clients recover funds that are crucial for providing essential public services, such as education, infrastructure, and public safety, thereby potentially preventing tax increases or service cuts for constituents.
- Comprehensive Collection Strategies: The firm utilizes a multifaceted approach to debt recovery, ranging from administrative collection efforts (letters, calls) to legal action (litigation, foreclosure assistance), ensuring a thorough process for their clients.
- Technological Integration: Linebarger combines its legal expertise with state-of-the-art technology to optimize its collection processes, aiming for efficiency and effectiveness.
- Professional Standards: The firm states its adherence to the highest professional and ethical standards in its collection practices. While some customer reviews indicate concerns about collection tactics, the firm emphasizes its commitment to compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
As a law firm primarily engaged in debt collection for government entities, Linebarger Goggan Blair & Sampson LLP does not offer "promotions" or "special offers" in the traditional consumer sense. Their services are contracted by government bodies to recover delinquent funds, and their operations are geared towards effective collection rather than consumer marketing.
However, for individuals who have received notices from Linebarger regarding a debt, there are aspects of their process that could be considered "offers" in the context of resolving an outstanding obligation:
- Opportunity to Resolve Debt: The firm provides a clear channel for individuals to address and resolve their outstanding government debts, potentially avoiding further legal action or penalties.
- Payment Arrangements: While not explicitly a "promotion," the firm often works with individuals to establish manageable repayment plans for their outstanding obligations. This flexibility can be a significant benefit for those unable to pay the full amount immediately.
- Debt Validation Process: Individuals have the right to request validation of the debt they are being asked to pay. This ensures that the debt is legitimate and accurate, providing a safeguard for consumers.
It is important to address the negative customer reviews. Some individuals express strong dissatisfaction, using terms like "liars and scammers" and raising concerns about aggressive tactics or demands for old/unverified debts. While a review praises an individual (Charles Brady) for professionalism, it's crucial for Texans to understand that receiving a letter or call from Linebarger means a government entity believes a debt is owed. It is always prudent to:
- Verify the debt directly with the originating government entity (e.g., the county tax office, city court, or toll road authority) to confirm its legitimacy.
- Request debt validation from Linebarger Goggan Blair & Sampson LLP if you believe the debt is incorrect or have not received prior notice.
- Understand your rights under debt collection laws, though federal laws like the FDCPA may not apply to debts owed to government entities.
Linebarger is a legitimate law firm, but like any debt collector, their methods can be perceived differently by those on the receiving end, particularly given the nature of their work and the negative emotions often associated with debt collection.
