I am absolutely thrilled with the experience I had working with Mary! Not only is she a brilliant and knowledgeable attorney, but she also showed genuine compassion and empathy throughout my difficult divorce proceedings. Mary expertly navigated the complexities of the legal process while also offering invaluable emotional support. She always made me feel heard and understood, even when I was feeling overwhelmed. NOT COMPETENT or equipped to do much of anything. The following is a summary of my experience. It does not include every detail of every aspect. To begin with, she cannot make a legal argument on any level. I lost alimony, reimbursements for child costs, got nothing towards any bills for the home or family, nothing towards debt, and I did end up losing my pre-marital home of nearly 20 years for which my ex only occupied for 5. My child support wasn't even based on any real documents. It was simply a bs number of a few hundred dollars that was “negotiated” based on my ex’s income of six figures saying that there was no basis of his income. Cannot do due diligence. In her words the required court document of assets and liabilities that my ex submitted was “swiss cheese” because it has no real or coherent numbers. She did nothing towards rectifying it despite my begging her to do so. I nearly got sent to jail at one point because she was so neglectful. Yes, even a jail intake form was filled out by the opposing attorney until I reached out to my ex myself and convinced him that he had no grounds and I was planning to turn the case around on him. Even with the child attorney she created problems. It started with her making snarky comments on the name and ended with me nearly losing custody. Then she rubbed it in my face as if it was my fault on how I nearly lost custody. The final “agreement” was haphazardly put together and nothing is in my favor and will require further court visits to be able to enforce anything. But after more than four years I just really needed this nightmare she created to be over. Billing. I was periodically told to give money to her law firm without any kind of a bill saying that I was so far behind. The final bill came after the divorce was finalized and there were all these strange charges for things that never transpired on my case. And things that she had been telling me that she was calling the other attorney on was never on the bill because my ex said that those things never even happened that her office was just leading me on. This is a nightmare attorney who only got her page listed on any kind of super lawyers page is because other lawyers recommended her most likely due to her being so easy to work with apparently since she does not support her clients.
I cannot say enough wonderful things about Mary and her entire team. After interviewing multiple attorneys my husband and I knew she was the one to go with for our family law issues. Her paralegals were phenomenal, and Mary not only was excellent at communicating and keeping us informed about everything but she insightful too. We never were left wondering “what if…” she fought for my husband and our family so diligently and we couldn’t be happier with the outcome. She is beyond knowledgable about all things family law and you could tell being at court with her she has great rapport with other attorneys. She makes the litigation process stress free and really goes above and beyond for her clients. If you’re in the process of looking for an attorney this is the one you should go with!

I had the pleasure of working with Mary Davis, an excellent divorce attorney based in the suburbs, even though my case was in Chicago. I had been told I needed a big firm lawyer. By the time I walked into Mary’s office, almost four years in, I had been through five previous law firms! As a primary care-giving spouse, I was in need of a lawyer who could help me understand my ex’s businesses and partnerships finances. I had no understanding of disbursements, business tax returns, or valuations. I was in way over my head! From the moment I met Mary, I knew she was the right fit for me. She was warm and friendly while also being professional and knowledgeable. Mary took the time to listen to my story and understand my goals for the divorce. Throughout the process, she was always available to answer my questions and provide guidance. She was never annoyed by my close attention to my case, like other attorneys I had hired. She is an excellent communicator, a skilled negotiator, and truly cares about her clients. If only I had known about her from the beginning and hadn’t heard all that nonsense about having to have lawyer who belonged to certain organizations, I wouldn’t have wasted tens of thousands on ineffective lawyers. I had three, and none of them did anything near what this woman did for me and my son. Her billing was reasonable, and she was SO MUCH MORE EFFECTIVE. Do I recommend her? ABSOLUTELY, YES! When I started my search in January of 2021 for an attorney I came across Mary's picture online.I was drawn to her and hired her.She truly was an angel to me. She never gave up and she kept fighting for me. The outcome was better that I thought it would be. I feel so blessed to have found Mary and her wonderful staff.
