Law office of Paul Staley Introduce
The Law Office of Paul Staley, situated at 1901 First Ave. flr 1 in San Diego, California, serves the local community under the platform category of "Nearby Lawyers." This indicates a commitment to providing accessible legal services to individuals and businesses in the San Diego area. While specific details about the firm's environment are not extensively available online, it is typical for a law office to maintain a professional and confidential setting for client consultations. The location on the first floor of a building on First Avenue suggests potential ease of access for clients seeking in-person meetings.
Based on the available client reviews, the Law Office of Paul Staley appears to handle cases related to bankruptcy. One reviewer specifically mentions that Paul Staley handled their bankruptcy and did a "fantastic job." This suggests that bankruptcy law is at least one area of practice for this firm. Bankruptcy law involves assisting individuals or businesses who are unable to meet their financial obligations to seek relief under federal bankruptcy laws. Services in this area typically include:
- Assessing the client's financial situation and determining the most appropriate type of bankruptcy filing (e.g., Chapter 7 or Chapter 13).
- Guiding clients through the complex paperwork and procedures involved in filing for bankruptcy.
- Representing clients in meetings with creditors and in bankruptcy court proceedings.
- Providing advice and counsel on the implications of bankruptcy and the steps to take after the process is complete to rebuild financial stability.
While bankruptcy is explicitly mentioned, the Law Office of Paul Staley may also offer services in other areas of law. Many solo practitioners or small law offices handle a range of legal matters to serve their local clientele. These could potentially include areas such as:
- **Debt Relief:** Assisting clients with strategies other than bankruptcy to manage and resolve debt issues.
- **Consumer Law:** Protecting the rights of consumers in transactions and disputes.
- **General Civil Litigation:** Representing clients in various types of lawsuits and legal disputes.
To obtain a comprehensive understanding of all the legal services provided by the Law Office of Paul Staley, interested individuals should contact the firm directly. Features of the Law Office of Paul Staley can be gleaned from the client reviews. One positive review highlights Paul Staley's patience in answering questions, the transparency of the process with no unexpected charges, and his integrity and reliability. This suggests that a client-focused approach with clear communication and ethical conduct are hallmarks of his practice. The positive outcome reported by the bankruptcy client, including an improved credit score within two years, further underscores the potential for successful representation.
However, another review presents a negative experience related to communication and accessibility. This review describes difficulties in obtaining paperwork due to Paul Staley's absence and the limitations of an off-site receptionist. While a subsequent update from the same reviewer indicates that Paul Staley responded rapidly upon his return and attributed the issue to the receptionist, the initial experience raises a point about the firm's procedures for handling client needs when the primary attorney is unavailable. It suggests that potential clients might want to inquire about the firm's protocols for ensuring continuous service and access to information, especially during periods when Mr. Staley may be out of the office.
The updated portion of the negative review also describes Paul Staley as "very professional and kind" and a "professional, thorough lawyer" who would handle cases with care and success. This revised perspective offers a more balanced view, acknowledging both a service delivery issue and the attorney's professional qualities.
As promotional information is limited to the firm's listing as a "Nearby Lawyer" and the client reviews, potential local users can infer that the Law Office of Paul Staley aims to serve the San Diego community with legal services, particularly in areas like bankruptcy. The positive review acts as a testimonial to his effectiveness and client care in bankruptcy cases. The initial negative review, while later clarified, serves as a point of consideration regarding office procedures and communication during absences.

In conclusion, the Law Office of Paul Staley in San Diego, as a "Nearby Lawyer," appears to offer legal services, with a notable positive experience reported in bankruptcy law. 2/26/16: UPDATE TO THIS REVIEW: Paul responded to me very rapidly upon hearing my messages. He was very professional and kind - just as he was when we used his services three years ago. It was a mix up with knowing whether someone on the other line was actually internal in his office or an off site receptionist. It was actually the off site receptionists' error, not Paul's. Paul is a professional, thorough lawyer and I wish him all the best with his practice. He'd handle anyone's case with care and success. Epic fail. We tried calling Paul's office today and yesterday to simply obtain paperwork from using his services in the past. An off-site receptionist took the call and said Paul would be the ONLY one to help us with our request, but also said "Paul will not be getting to his messages or emails until his return on Feb 26". Does Paul not have an office running his practice for him while he is gone on vacation? Why can he and only he obtain our file and therefore send us the records we are requesting in a timely manner? We need the paperwork yesterday. I find it highly unprofessional to run your business this way while on vacation. Everyone deserves a vacation, but leaving NO ONE to help your clients is an epic fail. Be warned - if you need documentation or Paul's attention while he travels, you're out of luck. For that reason alone, I would not be recommending his services.
Paul Staley handled my bankruptcy and he did a fantastic job. He was very patient answering my multitude of questions throughout the process. There were no surprises or charges, everything went just as he told me. He has great integrity and can be relied upon 100%. It has been less than two years since my bankruptcy and my credit score is 696. Highly recommended.
Most would agree that even the thought of bankruptcy is out of the question. Always left as last resort. Well, having come to that last resort, I went to Paul. Skeptical at first with the worst intentions in mind not only did I leave his office fortunate but might I add Paul DID NOT charge me a penny for his services (how ironic i know...). Having added all my debt throughout the years led me to believe that bankruptcy was my only choice, however, Paul proved that wrong. Paul took the time to dig deep and break everything down. As a result, our numbers did not match. It turned out that the cost of filing would have been more than what I actually owed. This man truly demonstrated a level of expertise and professionalism by being thorough and patient. However, the attribute that stood out the most from all this was his HONESTY. The fact that Paul went out of his way and yet did not cost me a thing is remarkable and unheard of. I am writing this as a token of my appreciation. For those prospective clients of Paul's, you're in good hands.
At a time when your supposed to be enjoying your "Golden Years" the worst can happen. Paul and his staff made the burden as smooth and painless as possible. You know where you stand after the first consultation. I would recommend Paul Staley and his staff in the future for the unfortunate business at hand.
Paul and his team took great care of me even after the case was won. They made the whole process easy for me. There were no surprises. Even years after my case was won, Paul has been available and helpful.
