For individuals in the Los Angeles area seeking legal representation and considering the Law Office of Erick Garcia, located at 3727 W 6th St #603, Los Angeles, CA 90020, USA, it is crucial to carefully consider the available information. While listed under the "Nearby Lawyers" category and reachable by phone at (213) 814-0462 or mobile at +1 213-814-0462, the online reviews from individuals who have used the services of this attorney paint a concerning picture, particularly in the realm of family law.
Given the substantial negative feedback regarding the Law Office of Erick Garcia's handling of family law cases, this introduction will deviate from the typical positive portrayal. Instead, it will objectively present the issues raised by former clients to ensure local users are fully informed before making a decision about their legal representation.
Environment of the Law Office (Inferred from Reviews):
Based on the experiences shared by reviewers, the environment of the Law Office of Erick Garcia, at least in the context of family law cases, appears to be characterized by:
- Lack of Preparedness: One reviewer described a court appearance where Mr. Garcia was unprepared and seemingly had not adequately reviewed the client's file, leading to embarrassment in court.
- Ineffective Advocacy: Clients reported that Mr. Garcia did not actively speak up for them in court and appeared to agree with the opposing counsel's demands without strong advocacy for their client's interests.
- Poor Communication: One client mentioned not receiving crucial documents, such as the drafted response, before court, hindering their ability to review the information being submitted on their behalf.
- Sense of Rush: Clients reported that Mr. Garcia often seemed rushed during meetings and phone conversations, potentially impacting the thoroughness of his attention to their cases.
- Focus on Fees Over Client Needs: Concerns were raised about the promptness in seeking payment compared to the attention and effort dedicated to the actual legal work.
- Allegations of Incompetence and Inexperience in Family Law: Reviewers explicitly stated their opinions that Mr. Garcia lacks the necessary knowledge and experience in family law, leading to detrimental outcomes in their cases.
Services Offered (Based on Reviews - Proceed with Caution):
The reviews specifically discuss experiences within family law. Therefore, it can be inferred that the Law Office of Erick Garcia offers services in this area, including:
- Divorce Proceedings: Representing clients in divorce cases. However, the reviews detail negative experiences within this context.
- Child Custody Disputes: Handling cases involving the custody of children. Again, the feedback suggests significant issues in this area.
- Filing Legal Responses: Assisting clients in preparing and submitting required legal documents, though one review alleges a failure to file a crucial proof.
- Drafting Legal Documents: Preparing declarations and other court filings, with one client expressing dissatisfaction with the content and thoroughness of a document drafted by Mr. Garcia.
- Court Representation: Appearing in court on behalf of clients, where at least one instance of unpreparedness was reported.
Given the overwhelmingly negative experiences in family law as described by multiple clients, local users seeking assistance in this area should exercise extreme caution.
Features (as Described by Dissatisfied Clients):
The features highlighted by the reviewing clients are predominantly negative and serve as warnings:
- Lack of Preparation: Failure to adequately review case files before court appearances.
- Passive Representation: Allowing opposing counsel to dominate proceedings without effectively advocating for the client.
- Inadequate Document Preparation: Drafting documents that do not reflect the client's input or crucial information.
- Poor Communication and Lack of Transparency: Failure to share important documents with clients before court deadlines.
- Prioritization of Fees Over Service: Appearing more concerned with timely payment than with diligently working on the case.
- Alleged Incompetence: Clients' opinions that the attorney lacks the necessary skills and knowledge in family law.
- Negative Case Outcomes: Reviewers reported significant setbacks and losses in their cases while being represented by Mr. Garcia.
- Resistance to Addressing Concerns: Refusal to provide refunds despite allegations of inadequate service.
"Promotional" Information (Based on Negative Experiences - A Warning):
In light of the strong negative feedback, any inferred "promotional" aspect from the office's existence in a directory should be heavily tempered with the experiences shared by former clients. The reviews serve as a cautionary tale for potential clients:
- Claims of Effectiveness (Contradicted by Reviews): While any lawyer implicitly promotes their ability to help, the reviews strongly contradict any potential claim of effectiveness in family law by the Law Office of Erick Garcia.
- Local Presence (A Fact, but Consider the Feedback): The office is located in Los Angeles and listed as a "Nearby Lawyer," making it geographically accessible. However, accessibility should not be the sole factor in choosing legal representation, especially given the reported negative experiences.
- Responsiveness (Contradicted by Lack of Communication): While the office can be contacted by phone, the lack of timely communication and sharing of documents reported by a client contradicts any claim of being consistently responsive to client needs throughout the case.
Conclusion for Local Users: Proceed with Extreme Caution
The information available online regarding the Law Office of Erick Garcia, specifically from individuals who have used his services for family law matters, is overwhelmingly negative. These reviews detail instances of unpreparedness in court, ineffective advocacy, poor communication, inadequate document preparation, and a perceived prioritization of fees over diligent client representation. Multiple clients express strong dissatisfaction and allege that Mr. Garcia's handling of their cases led to significant detriment.
Local users in Los Angeles seeking a "Nearby Lawyer," particularly for family law issues such as divorce or child custody, are strongly advised to carefully consider these firsthand accounts before engaging the Law Office of Erick Garcia. While the office is geographically accessible at 3727 W 6th St #603 and can be contacted at (213) 814-0462, the reported experiences suggest significant risks associated with entrusting family law matters to this attorney. It would be prudent for potential clients to seek additional information, possibly consult with other attorneys, and thoroughly weigh the potential consequences based on the experiences shared by previous clients before making a decision about legal representation.

This attorney does not deserve a one star review. If you are looking for a family attorney, do not waste your money, time and hope with this attorney. I was in immediate need of an attorney, so an acquaintance of mine recommended Erick because "he was so good" and has known him for over 10 years. I was on a very short time to file my response, since the other party served me a day before my response was due. However, I didn't bother to look for another attorney since I felt I would be able to trust Erick with all that had to get done. Mind you, I was able to assemble MY OWN FILE nice and neat (exhibits and tabs) with ALL proper documentation and provide it to Erick. (I saved him the work and time in other words). When we went to our first court appearance, it was an embarrassment!!!!!!! He went unprepared and it was obvious he didn't take the proper time to review MY ENTIRE FILE. Judge had to give us a 15 min break for him to review my file. After a brief break, the matter continued and by this point I was frustrated. He didn't speak up for me and allowed the opposing attorney to do all the talking. Erick agreed to everything the opposing party and attorney wanted. Erick then agreed to take my case to trial....and I can only think he agreed to do so, so he can take more $$$$ from me. He charged me 2,000 for what?????????? He DID NOT EVEN file the proof I provided him with. In addition, the declaration HE DRAFTED IN HIS OWN WORDS, was only a page and a half, which didn't include anything I talked to him about. A week before court, I asked him to provide me with a copy via-email of what he was submitting as my response, but never did he send it to me. He showed me his one and a half page declaration the date of the hearing as we waited for the judge to call my case. He should be ashamed. I am a single mother who works hard to make my ends meet, and just for him to have easily charged me 2,000 to have done NOTHING, made me feel so devastated and completely taken advantage of. He was on top of getting his money on time, but not on top or concerned about my case. The few times I met with him in person and spoke to him over the phone, he always seemed as if he was in a rush. This attorney is not here to help, but rather just take your money. He is incompetent and does not have the knowledge or experience in Family Law. He became a nightmare and left me to not trust another attorney again. I asked him for a partial refund and said no because all the work was done. He then still had the audacity to say I actually owed him more than 2,000, but he was just going to leave it at 2,000. HE DOES NOT CARE ABOUT YOUR WANTS AND CASE, SAVE YOUR MONEY.
In my own personal opinion and experience Eric Garcia messed my case up big time and is a waste of time and money. I had a buddy of mine from work refer me to him, I trusted my buddy however Eric was straight garbage in my opinion. I had 50/50 custody before Children’s mother took me to court every time Eric represented me he never had documents never spoke up and allowed opposing counsel to blabber away. Pretty much I lost my 50/50 to 30/70 because Eric said “trust me this is the best deal you’ll get just sign” I was pushed into an agreement I didn’t want ultimately pressured by my own lawyer to sign. Stay away from this chump in my opinion not worth it.
He's the worse "lawyer" the first attorney that filed my petition for immigration gave all of his cases to Eric. That was in 2011. For four years Eric didn't follow up with the nvc, one day I got tired of him asking me to go to his office to sign papers so I called the nvc. That's when I found out that my case was closed. While I was in his office there was a man telling me that he has been waited 10 years for Eric to finished his case with immigration. That was very sad to hear. Thank God I'm now a resident of this Country but boy I made Eric pay me every thing I had paid him plus all the the money he made waste in gas. By that time immigration rase his prices and I asked Eric to give me the difference and he did.
