Kramer & Associates Introduce
This profile addresses Kramer & Associates, a law firm located at 520 SW 6th Ave #1010, Portland, OR 97204, USA, as part of our "Nearby Lawyers" platform. It is crucial for local users seeking legal representation in Portland, Oregon, to carefully consider all available information when making a decision. The following introduction is based solely on the provided client reviews and aims to present an objective overview of the feedback received.
The client reviews for Mark Kramer of Kramer & Associates present significant concerns regarding his professional conduct and ethical standards. One detailed review comes from an individual whose ex-wife was represented by Mr. Kramer in a divorce and custody case. This reviewer alleges that Mr. Kramer intentionally prolonged the legal proceedings, purportedly to accrue fees, despite alleged red flags concerning the safety of the couple's daughter and the mother's mental stability. The reviewer further claims that this delay regrettably coincided with the mother engaging in severe criminal activity involving the child. While these are serious accusations from an adverse party, they warrant careful consideration.
According to the same review, the complainant eventually obtained full custody of their daughter in Washington State and secured a restraining order against the mother. The reviewer also states that they filed a formal complaint against Mark Kramer with the Oregon Bar, alleging a violation of a basic ethical standard. The outcome of this complaint, as reported by the reviewer, was that the Oregon Bar sanctioned Mr. Kramer, resulting in the removal of his ability to function as a pro tem judge. This sanction by the state bar association is a serious matter that potential clients should be aware of.
The reviewer concludes with a strong warning, suggesting that Mark Kramer might be suitable for those seeking an "unethical, sanctioned attorney," but advises all others to seek legal representation elsewhere. This perspective, coming from an individual directly involved in a case handled by Mr. Kramer, raises significant red flags about his professional integrity and client care.
A second review provides feedback specifically on Mark Kramer's role as a mediator in a divorce case. The client found him to be "extremely inexperienced," likening the session to his "first time" mediating. This individual explicitly states that they would "definitely not recommend him for mediation" at his current level of experience. This feedback suggests potential limitations in Mr. Kramer's skills in alternative dispute resolution, which can be a crucial aspect of family law cases.
Based on these two reviews, several potential concerns and features emerge regarding Kramer & Associates, specifically in relation to Mark Kramer:
- Allegations of Unethical Conduct: The first review makes serious accusations of prioritizing fees over child safety and engaging in behavior that led to a sanction by the Oregon Bar.
- Sanction by the Oregon Bar: The reported sanction and removal of pro tem judge status indicate a formal finding of professional misconduct by the governing body of attorneys in Oregon.
- Concerns about Experience in Mediation: The second review suggests a lack of experience and proficiency in mediation services.
- Potential for Prolonging Cases: The first reviewer alleges intentional delays in legal proceedings for financial gain.
- Impact on Child Welfare: The accusations in the first review raise serious questions about the attorney's handling of child safety concerns.
It is important to note that these reviews represent individual experiences and perspectives. However, the severity of the allegations, particularly the reported sanction by the Oregon Bar, should not be dismissed lightly. Potential clients are strongly advised to conduct their own thorough due diligence before engaging the services of Kramer & Associates or Mark Kramer.
Due to the highly negative nature of the available feedback, it is impossible to present any positive promotional information or highlight favorable features of the practice based solely on these reviews. Instead, the focus must be on conveying the serious concerns raised by past clients.
Local users considering Kramer & Associates for their legal needs should be aware of these allegations and the reported professional sanction. It is recommended to seek additional information, potentially from other sources or by directly contacting the firm to understand their perspective. However, the information presented here suggests a significant risk in choosing this firm, particularly if your case involves sensitive issues such as child safety or requires experienced mediation services.
In conclusion, the available client reviews for Kramer & Associates and Mark Kramer raise significant ethical and professional concerns. The reported sanction by the Oregon Bar and allegations of prioritizing fees over client welfare are serious matters that potential clients in Portland, Oregon, should carefully consider. While every individual's experience may vary, the feedback provided strongly suggests exercising caution and potentially seeking legal representation elsewhere to ensure ethical and competent handling of your legal matters.

You'd expect an adverse party to leave a poor review of an attorney, but let me tell you exactly why. Mark Kramer handled my ex-wife's side of my divorce and custody filing. He managed to string things out as long as possible, despite multiple red flags regarding my daughter's safety and mom's lability. Why would he do that? Well because I was paying the bills. He didn't care about the kid, he cared about his fees. Anyway, as it turned out, mom used the time and lack of oversight to make child pornography with my young daughter - among other things. Good job, Mark. I eventually won full custody of my daughter with a restraining order against mom after everyone moved to Washington State, and she's a happy teenager now. As for Mark Kramer - well Karma's a B. In the process of being who he is, he also violated a basic ethical standard of his profession, and I called him on it with a formal complaint to the Oregon Bar. Why he would do what he did for such a client I don't know, it was an obvious offense, but the Bar sanctioned him and removed his ability to function as a pro tem judge. If an unethical, sanctioned attorney is what you're after, Mark Kramer is your guy. If you're not that kind of person, look elsewhere. Also, if you've been subjected to some flagrantly unethical behavior from an attorney, the Bar does listen to the public. You can imagine they get a lot of angry complaints though, so just keep it succinct, factual and professional - and wait until your case is no longer active.
Had Mark do mediation for my wife and I. He felt extremely inexperienced, like it was his first time. Perhaps with experience he could improve, but at the moment, I would definitely not recommend him for mediation.
Find any other practice than Kramer and Associates. When I paid my fee to discuss my case Mark came late to my appointment and was unprepared to discuss. He had me believing we had a chance to fight my case. If I would have known this was all a waste of time, I would not have spent the time, effort and emotional toll on fighting. I had to pay a second time to have a different Lawyer in this firm to look at my case. This one at least listened and was prepared to discuss my case. The worst I dropped my case and had to fight to get any sort of refund remaining on my retention fee. Mark told me refund would come in to 50% installments. Absolutely unacceptable as the client we are REQUIRED to pay their fee.
I faced a complex situation involving marriage dissolution, child custody, and property division, and I am incredibly pleased with the exceptional work Erin O'Relly has done on my case. As a father confronting significant challenges in child custody and restraining orders, Erin approached my case with meticulous attention to detail. She not only helped me regain custody but also successfully resolved my restraining order issue. With two consecutive victories under our belt, I have one more case pending, and I am confident she will excel in that one as well. To anyone reading this review, I want to emphasize that I am an immigrant who arrived in this country without an in-depth understanding of my legal rights. However, Erin provided unwavering dedication to my case and guided me through overcoming the financial struggles I faced due to being blocked from accessing my accounts. I am now relieved, and words cannot express my gratitude for her outstanding work. I wholeheartedly recommend entrusting your case to Erin. Be honest and provide all the necessary details, and she will undoubtedly deliver exceptional results.
Mark Kramer is a lawyer with no moral code. He is willing to go against what the judge suggest and even sacrifice peoples children's health for his own good. He is a very sick person. I would never employ him. Plus his suits don't fit and he looks disheveled.
