  • Questionable Professionalism (Negative Review - Kimberly Saxton): The negative reviewer describes an interaction in court where Ms. Saxton allegedly spoke about the client to the District Attorney in a way that suggested she wasn't her attorney and rescheduled the case without consulting her client first. Attorney A’kira Thomas represented me in my DWI case as my public defender. My outcome for my legal matter was beyond my expectations. I am very grateful. Ms. Thomas was competent and calm in court. She gave me sound advice and advised me in what to expect. I was impressed with her insight into the judge and her communication with court officials and the district attorney. We were direct with each other and I did not expect or need a lot of hand holding, however she still gave me quality representation. I recommend her for your criminal/traffic matters, as she is experienced and competent.

This attorney was appointed to me pro bono by the public defenders office. I was never contacted by her office about my case at all. I went to the public defenders office to find out who she was. When I did I reached out to her office and gave them my information. I was given a call by Kimberly Saxton the next day or later on that day. But when I spoke with her, she was briefed about my case but I was expecting her to set up an appointment to come in and talk with her about what happened. I did let her know that I had proof of the incident and she asked me to send the emails. I went to court 3 days later. When I got there I was told that my attorney would call my name and speak with me outside the courtroom. I never heard my name get called by any attorney, accept for when I heard Kimberly Saxton talking to the District Attorney about me and saying to the DA that I was supposed to send her a email. But the way she said it was as if she wasn’t my attorney. Then she asked for it to be rescheduled without consulting with me first. This attorney Kimberly Saxton did not call my name like the other attorney’s did that I witnessed speaking to their clients outside the courtroom first. She made a decision before talking to me at all. Then when she walked off from the DA, I told her that I was Ms. Jones and that I heard what she had said bc I was sitting in the front row. And she looked like she was shocked. And then asked me to come outside the courtroom. And acted like she had an attitude about it. I wouldn’t trust this lady at all. I am requesting that she be removed from my case. Not a good attorney at all, and her professionalism is not good.

I highly recommend them. I was accused of something i didnt do and it caused me to lose custody of my daughter. So Kimberly Saxton and associates took over my criminal case and referred me to a very good family lawyer. I hadn’t seen my daughter for two months and the family lawyer got me a visit with her once a week until my criminal trial date came and saxton and associates got my criminal case dismissed and now I have joint legal and physical custody of my daughter again. Please be patient with this law firm, they handle tons of cases a day and they will get to you when they can. But when it’s time to handle business they do just that. I had attorney Thomas and she was amazing. Hopefully I’ll never have to see them again but if I do, I know im in good hands!

Find another law office if you can. They call you a day before your court date. Not really helpful. Don’t give any advice on how to maneuver with the courts. You won’t speak with your lawyer until you see them in court. Very disappointed with this law firm.
