  • Joanna Silva Keefe was the worst immigration lawyer and the worst $4,000 I paid for, during my husbands case ( he was in process of deportation) I had to continually call her and message her she wouldn’t answer until next day or until my husband called her from immigration facility. The one time i was allowed to attend a court she fidgeted with her paperwork and I talked much more than her, I feel like she could of done more than what she did, many other immigration inmates that are with my husband also have told us the same thing that she doesn’t answer their calls or even give their loved ones information. I should of known when I saw she didn’t have web pages i wasn’t going to be attended well, she was not able to get my husband bonded out nor keep him in the country.
  • the worst lawyer. He does deals with the court but it doesn't defend you as he is supposed. He does not answer calls to clients after he takes the money. Please Don't spend your money on him, it's the worst

  • I had a criminal case, they recommended me to the lawyer William, he took my case, he had preliminary meetings, on occasion he left me alone in court at the final trial, he recommended that I accept the charges, I did not want to defend my case, I ended up being found guilty of a charge, I do not recommend the lawyer.

Introduction / Overview

Keefe William operates as a legal practice located in Boston, Massachusetts. When seeking legal representation, individuals often look for attorneys who are responsive, communicative, and effective in their advocacy. The role of a lawyer is to guide clients through the complexities of the legal system, advocate on their behalf, and strive for the best possible outcome. Public information and client reviews offer varied perspectives on the performance and client communication of legal professionals. In the case of Keefe William, some client experiences, as shared in public reviews, highlight concerns regarding responsiveness and the perceived extent of advocacy. For instance, one review mentions difficulty in reaching the attorney and a feeling that "she could have done more." Another review criticizes the attorney for not answering calls after taking money and not defending as expected, stating, "He does deals with the court but it doesn't defend you as he is supposed." These insights are valuable for prospective clients in Massachusetts who prioritize consistent communication and robust representation throughout their legal journey.

It is important for potential clients to conduct their own due diligence, which includes researching attorneys, understanding their communication practices, and verifying their experience in specific legal areas.

Location and Accessibility

Keefe William is conveniently located in Boston, Massachusetts, making their office accessible to residents within the city and surrounding areas. The address is:

801 Tremont St, Boston, MA 02118, USA

Tremont Street is a well-known thoroughfare in Boston, which typically implies good connectivity via public transportation. For those relying on the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA), various bus routes and subway lines likely serve the vicinity, offering straightforward access to the office. If traveling by car, clients should be mindful of Boston's urban environment, where parking can sometimes be limited or require paid garages. Proximity to major roads and public transit hubs can be a significant advantage for clients who need to attend consultations, court appearances, or simply drop off documents. This central location aims to facilitate convenience for individuals seeking legal services within the greater Boston metropolitan area.

While specific details about the full range of legal services offered by Keefe William are not extensively detailed in the provided information or readily available public data, law practices typically handle various legal matters based on their specialization. Based on this, and the general scope of practice for a lawyer, one might infer the following types of services, though direct confirmation from the attorney's office is always recommended:

  • Immigration Law Assistance: This could include representation for deportation cases, visa applications, green card processes, citizenship applications, and other immigration-related legal challenges.
  • Criminal Defense: Representation for individuals accused of crimes, navigating court proceedings, negotiations with prosecutors, and trial defense. This might involve various types of charges, from misdemeanors to felonies.
  • Legal Consultation: Providing initial advice and assessment of a legal situation, outlining potential strategies, and explaining legal processes.
  • Court Representation: Appearing in court on behalf of clients for hearings, trials, and other legal proceedings.

Features / Highlights

When considering legal representation, potential clients often evaluate various features and highlights of a legal practice. Based on the provided client reviews, several points emerge regarding the experience with Keefe William:

  • Geographic Accessibility: The Boston location at 801 Tremont St provides a physical presence that is reachable for many Massachusetts residents, particularly those in and around the city.
  • Experience in Specific Areas: The client reviews indicate experience in immigration law and criminal defense. This suggests a focus on these areas, which can be beneficial for clients seeking specialized knowledge in these fields.
  • Direct Communication (Client Reports): While some clients noted difficulties in reaching the attorney, the fact that communication lines exist (phone numbers provided) is a basic feature. However, the consistency and timeliness of responses appear to be a reported area for consideration.
  • Courtroom Presence: The review mentioning attendance at court, even if with concerns about active participation, indicates the attorney's presence in legal proceedings.

It is important for any individual considering legal services to conduct their own research and, ideally, to speak directly with the attorney or their staff to assess communication practices and determine if the attorney's approach aligns with their expectations for legal representation. Public feedback, while informative, should be considered as part of a broader decision-making process.

Promotions or Special Offers

In the legal industry, "promotions" or "special offers" are typically not standard practice in the same way they are for consumer goods or services. Legal services are professional services that are priced based on the complexity of the case, the attorney's experience, and the time required. Therefore, direct discounts or promotional packages are rare.

However, what some legal professionals or firms might offer, and what individuals should inquire about, include:

  • Initial Consultations: Many attorneys offer an initial consultation, which may be free or offered at a reduced rate. This allows potential clients to discuss their case, understand their legal options, and gauge whether the attorney is the right fit without a significant upfront financial commitment. It is an opportunity to ask about fee structures.
  • Payment Plans: For some types of cases, or based on individual client circumstances, a firm might offer flexible payment arrangements or installment plans for legal fees.
  • Contingency Fees: In specific areas of law, such as personal injury, attorneys might work on a contingency fee basis, meaning they only get paid if they win the case or secure a settlement. This arrangement is highly specific to certain practice areas and should be directly discussed.

To learn more about the fee structure or if any form of initial consultation offer is available, it is essential to contact Keefe William directly using the contact information provided. This direct communication will provide the most accurate and up-to-date information regarding their policies and any potential arrangements for service.
