My case has finally been settled and closed after three long years! Hallelujah! After being hit by a tow truck, I called J Sanders Approximately two months into my case, he sent my file to Karell Law. I was told some case loads get sent to other firms. I really debated on calling the next attorney on my list but didn't want to start all over. My only (and biggest) complaint about Karell Law is the lack of communication. Without going into specific instances, I have emails and text messages of the number of times I had to reach out just to see where my case stood. I also (verbally) stated (more than once) that I am big on communication and realized I was not the only client the team was working with, but a mere, "Hey, this is how we're working on your behalf. This is what we're waiting on... etc etc. Do you have any questions or concerns at this point?" would have sufficed. Now, this is not to say I have never heard from the team without initiating the conversation. The times were just few and far between. As a realtor, one of my main jobs is ensuring my clients know what's going on as I work through their transaction. One tool I suggested to the Karell team is a client portal. A few law firms I've worked with as a realtor had this tool in place, and it worked out beautifully. My clients didn't have to ask me what was going on with their closing, and I didn't have to stop and call the attorney handling their case..By implementing and updating this site as things are occurring, the clients gain a sense of confidence in the lawyer(s), it puts their mind at ease, and it also cuts down on emails, texts and calls. I allowed for months (at times) to pass without a peep until I couldn't take the silence any longer. I was literally left to my assumptions. Even though I would be irritated on the inside, I always tried to approach the team with professionalism because, for one, I didn't know what they were dealing with on their end, and also, I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. Other than the communication issue, the team was very pleasant during the two face-to-face encounters I had with them. I even received a thank you gift when I picked up my check. I am grateful for all the work that went into my case. The scoring is a happy medium between good job and the communication deficiency.
