We used the Law office of Jean Chen back in Jan 2017 to adjust our status from conditional green card from EB5 to permanent green card from EB2 because our EB5 project got frauded and we think our I829 will most likely to be denied and my wife happens to have an approved I140 for EB2. So, we went in for a consultation and a lawyer named Shiyao Gong told us we can withdraw I829 and file an I-485 using the approved I140 for EB2. They charged us 1200 per person for legal fee and 1225 per person for USCIS filing fee. One year later we got a denied letter from USCIS saying they cannot adjudicate our I485 application since we currently hold conditional residency status with the EB5. And Withdrawing I829 does not remove our conditional residence status. The only way to remove the status is to leave the country, not just with a cover letter saying we are cancelling our conditional residency (which is what the lawyer did, she just wrote a cover letter together with the I485 application saying we want to withdraw I829 and cancel the conditional green card.). So, the lawyer apparently did not know this rule. We just wasted so much time and money on this. I went in and asked to speak with the owner of the law office Jean Chen. I showed the denied letter from USCIS to her which shows the rule and asked if she knows this rule. She flat out said USCIS was wrong. She denied that they had done anything wrong. I asked to get my money back and she said no way. I asked her to show me the rule supports her argument that the way they did it was right, she only show me that with EB5, if you project went wrong, you can submit for another EB5, which does not apply in my case because I am submitting an EB2. Also, during this period of a year after we filed the I485, we were assigned 4 different lawyers as the previous three all left the firm. The customer service was terrible. I would call them and left message and they would never call back. So, at the end Jean said" you have waste so much of my time arguing with me, just tell me what you want". I told her I want my money back. She said the more I argue with her the less chance I will get my money back. I said I will take whatever. She asked me to go back at the end of the day and told me through the receptions that she can only give me 200, and it is take it or leave it. I took it, but I was not happy with them at all. That's why I am writing this review hoping people stay away from them so justice can be served. They don`t deserve your business. They are either incompetent or they scammed us for money knowing the rules. We later consulted with 8 different lawyers and they all said USCIS was right. A few lawyers had a looked at the file the Jean Chen office prepared for our I485 and said it was poorly prepared and we would got RFE even if USCIS didn`t deny us.

This aspect is important for prospective clients to consider when assessing the firm's ability to provide a consistent and supportive client experience.
- Attorney Experience: The firm is led by Jean Chen, and other lawyers like Shiyao Gong are mentioned in client accounts. The length of time a firm has been in practice can sometimes indicate experience in dealing with various legal scenarios.

However, it's crucial for prospective clients to evaluate the firm's demonstrated understanding of specific rules and regulations pertinent to their unique situation.
- Considerations from Client Feedback: One detailed review highlights a significant issue where a client experienced a denial due to a purported misunderstanding of USCIS rules regarding conditional residency status and its removal. The client also noted concerns about the quality of prepared documents, the firm's responsiveness, the rotation of assigned lawyers, and a perceived reluctance by the owner to acknowledge potential errors or offer satisfactory recourse. While another review simply states "very professional," this contrasting feedback underscores the importance for new clients to thoroughly vet the firm's specific expertise relating to their case and to clarify communication protocols.
Potential clients are advised to use such feedback as part of their due diligence, focusing on how the firm’s approach aligns with their specific needs and expectations for communication and legal strategy.
