  • I asked Ms. Koler to write a simple environmental covenant for me in August 2008. Once she had my retainer, she never initiated contact with me nor replied to e-mails requesting updates on my project. It took six months of constant calling to get the first draft of the covenant out of her. It turned out she had used the wrong boilerplate form (readily available from Ecology), and sent the draft to the wrong office even though I had provided her with the correct contact name, e-mail, phone, and address. After all that she charged me more than double her original estimate - for nothing, as I had to redo the entire covenant myself. I would advise anyone looking for an environmental lawyer NOT to use Jane Koler!
  • Although Jane seemed competent , professional, and courteous we did not end up working with her on our suit due to reasons unrelated. Unfortunately, we have now reached out four or more times collectively to get our retainer returned and we are either met with no response or “it is in the mail” from the office paralegal. Our first request was now several months ago.
