Situated at 6605 S Redwood Rd Suite 101, Salt Lake City, UT 84123, USA, the firm is conveniently located for residents throughout the Greater Salt Lake Area. The name itself, "If Schmidt Happens," suggests a firm with a memorable and perhaps unconventional approach to legal services, aiming to be approachable while addressing life's unexpected legal challenges.

The environment of a legal office like "If Schmidt Happens," located in a suite within a commercial building, is typically designed to be professional yet welcoming. Suite 101 suggests a ground-floor or easily accessible office, which contributes to client convenience. While specific decor or ambiance are not detailed publicly, most law offices strive to create a comfortable and confidential setting for clients to discuss their often sensitive legal matters. An accessible location with potential for ample parking on Redwood Road would be a significant advantage for clients, ensuring that visiting the office is as stress-free as possible. The aim is to build an atmosphere of trust and confidence, essential for effective attorney-client relationships.

Based on publicly available information, "If Schmidt Happens" appears to focus on a range of legal services that commonly impact individuals and families in the community. Key practice areas include family law, which encompasses divorce, child custody, child support, adoption, and paternity law. Additionally, the firm handles criminal defense matters, including DUI cases. This broad scope indicates that the firm aims to be a comprehensive legal resource for many of the challenges local residents might face. For instance, in family law cases, clients would expect assistance with navigating complex divorce proceedings, establishing fair child custody and support arrangements, and understanding adoption processes. In criminal defense, the firm would represent individuals facing charges, working to protect their rights and achieve the best possible outcome. The firm's commitment to these areas suggests an understanding of the legal needs prevalent in the Salt Lake City community, positioning itself as a go-to for these specific types of cases.

A notable feature of "If Schmidt Happens" is its accessibility, highlighted by the direct contact numbers: (801) 678-5558 and +1 801-678-5558. This ensures potential clients can easily reach out to discuss their legal needs. The firm's over 25 years of experience along the Wasatch Front, as mentioned in online profiles, is a significant feature, suggesting a deep understanding of Utah's legal landscape and local court systems. This extensive experience often translates into a more nuanced approach to legal strategies and a greater familiarity with local legal precedents and judicial tendencies. Furthermore, the firm's online presence indicates a client-focused approach, with mentions of waiving initial consultation fees and offering video conferencing, particularly in response to current circumstances. These features demonstrate a modern and adaptable practice, prioritizing client convenience and access to legal advice.

Promotional information for "If Schmidt Happens" largely relies on its direct accessibility and stated areas of expertise. However, a significant aspect of its public profile includes customer reviews, which provide varied perspectives on the firm's services. One review praises Brad (presumably Brad Schmidt, the attorney associated with the firm) for being "very knowledgeable, cost effective, and reliable," recommending him to anyone considering hiring an attorney. This positive feedback highlights desirable qualities in legal representation: expertise, financial prudence, and trustworthiness. Such testimonials are powerful promotional tools, suggesting a track record of effective service and client satisfaction.

Conversely, another detailed review presents a critical perspective. This client expressed significant dissatisfaction, alleging that "Brad made many promises from temporary orders to a subpoena... filed no paperwork, answered none of my emails, was having his secretary dodge my calls and only responded to an email after I threatened to fire him." The review further claims that the attorney "attempted to bully me, even yelling at me" and "hadn't even looked at the final offer from the other lawyer after the mediation." This review suggests concerns regarding communication, follow-through on commitments, and professional conduct. The client also mentioned a "will sue for free list," implying an unusual or potentially aggressive approach to client acquisition or litigation. This conflicting feedback is crucial for potential clients to consider, as it offers a more comprehensive, albeit dual-sided, view of the firm's client interactions and service delivery. It underscores the importance of individual client experiences in shaping a firm's reputation and how these experiences, positive or negative, become part of its public narrative on platforms like "Nearby Lawyers." Therefore, while the firm promotes itself through its service offerings and experience, prospective clients are also met with a spectrum of firsthand accounts from past clients, providing a more rounded picture of what to expect.

Brad made many promises from temporary orders to a subpoena to take a video of everything in my ex’s storage unit to prove he had assets. Even offering his services pro bono if he “disliked my ex” as much as he thought he would. A month after a failed mediation, Brad had filed no paperwork, answered none of my emails, was having his secretary dodge my calls and only responded to an email after I threatened to fire him. Then he called on the attack and attempted to bully me, even yelling at me. Then it was revealed he hadn’t even looked at the final offer from the other lawyer after the mediation. He again promised to do something by the next day…. Nothing was done. He did nothing about harassing texts I received even after asking me to send screen shots. Nothing about getting temporary custody or child support. In my opinion Brad is a bully and doesn’t care to follow through on promises. Be careful not to get on his “will sue for free list”. He seemed very proud of it. I’m sure I’m on it for being honest about his treatment of me and my case.

We highly recommend Brad. He took the time to meet with us personally and went through all of our options. He even met with us away from the office, he was easy to get a hold of and always answered our calls. Very impressed with his professionalism and kindness.
