First and foremost, I agree with everyone who wrote a 1 star review about this law firm. I got a letter saying was being sued and they were going to be the main debt collectors. I called immediately so I can solve the issue or at least have a payment arrangement set up since I don’t have the full amount, unfortunately. They do record all conversations so speak the truth whether you can or can’t pay to the rep. When I got on the call with a rep, the first thing she kept asking if I was going to pay the debt in full and I continuously told her I’m unable to. She wanted me to start with a high initial payment arrangement amount and I told her I still can’t pay that amount. She even asked why and I explained but they don’t have any sympathy or empathy towards your personal life. Their goal is to get their client to pay the full fund or even more pay. I told her directly that I am unable to pay the amount she is listing and she did ask what I was able to do. We finally agreed on a month to month basis payment with a doable initial payment for the first month. I get that it is our problem that we have a debt at first but it’s not our fault when issues like Covid happens and causes people to lose their job. The economy then rises after and looking for a decent paying job isn’t so easy in this society. Be careful of what you say on the recorded line, stand firm about what you can and can’t do for your payments for your debts. Do not settle to pay for full amount unless you are financially stable. Keep being direct, say no to high payments arranges and settle on what you want. You can push to ask her a manager or even a supervisor of the law firm, at this point if they don’t get where you’re able to work with them.

These people are hustlers. They sent people to my mothers house threatening to take me to court when I had lost my job. HOW to do you expect payments from someone who no longer has income?????? They had no answer for that though. SMH !! Then ask me to pay over $1000 a month for 3 months on a 4 year old account ! "Because I can pay it off faster". What kind of sense does that make ???? Why would anyone agree to that ??? The agent clearly wasn't listening nor did they care to. They just want money. The greed is infuriating. I dont understand how this is still an operating business.

DEBT COLLECTOR: RECORD YOUR CONVERSATIONS BECAUSE THEY WILL LIE ABOUT WHAT YOU AGREE TO! They'll press you to make higher amount payments, be firm with what you can do and stick to it. They'll add on court costs. Let them ($500+). They don't take online banking, send money orders (They lost two of mine). Other lawfirms will reach out to help with "your case", you don't need it. UPDATE: I paid those bastards off good luck!

They just sent someone here to serve my son over a $1400 credit card debt that he defaulted on while having a rough time in life, they served my 14 year old daughter which isn't even valid /legal. And the papers don't seem legit. This “firm” I picture operating from the pits of hell. I’d be mortified to be Hunt or Henriques with all these awful reviews

This company is the worst collection agency on the face of this planet. So, I called before the case was going to end up in court to try and settle and make a cash offer. They would not take my very reasonable offer, especially since most of my balance was fees and interest! They refused it flat out and said they wouldn't settle for less than 100% of the balance! I was not able to make it to the court hearing, and the judge granted in their favor. It took 8 months for them to start garnishing my wages after they won, but when they did, they didn't notify my employer and my employer notify me, until 10 days before the garnishment took place. They are taking out 25% of my paycheck plus other fees every week during a global pandemic, and when I tried again to call and talk to them, they still won't settle. I am even planning on pulling out money from my 401k because this is creating a hardship on my family and they don't have any compassion! I am still fighting them. They have my statements from the original creditor and when I asked them for copies they won't give them to me, I know most is interests and fees and I will settle for all of the purchases that I made but the bank can eat the fees, its CitiBank and they have more money than us normal middle class people (especially during a pandemic!) Heartless monsters! No compassion and no attempt to come to any sort of an agreement other than what works for them!

Based on the provided information, Hunt & Henriques operates as a law firm primarily engaged in debt collection activities on behalf of their clients (creditors). While a comprehensive list of all potential legal services offered is not provided, their core function, as indicated by customer reviews, involves:
-
Debt Collection Litigation: This is the central service. The firm sends letters informing individuals they are being sued for outstanding debts and initiates legal proceedings to recover these funds. This process involves representing creditors in court to obtain judgments against debtors.
-
Negotiation of Payment Arrangements: As described by a client, the firm engages in discussions with individuals regarding payment arrangements for outstanding debts. While their primary goal is full payment, they do enter into negotiations for month-to-month payment plans or initial payment amounts.
-
Debt Resolution and Recovery: Acting on behalf of their clients (the original creditors), Hunt & Henriques aims to recover the full amount of debt, or an agreed-upon settlement, to resolve outstanding financial obligations.
-
Legal Correspondence and Communication: The firm sends formal legal letters and engages in recorded phone conversations with individuals regarding their debts. These communications are part of the legal process to inform debtors of their obligations and potential legal actions.
It is important to understand that when dealing with a firm like Hunt & Henriques, their services are oriented towards recovering debt on behalf of the entities they represent. Individuals interacting with them should seek to understand their rights as debtors and be prepared to discuss their financial situation clearly and firmly.
Based on the provided customer reviews, here are some features and highlights of Hunt & Henriques, primarily from the perspective of individuals interacting with them regarding debt collection:
-
Aggressive Debt Recovery Approach: Clients describe the firm as "hustlers" who are very direct about their goal: to get their client (the original creditor) paid in full, or even more. This suggests an assertive and persistent approach to debt recovery, which can include threatening legal action if payment terms are not met.
-
Direct Communication and Firm Stance: Representatives from Hunt & Henriques are noted for directly asking for full payment upfront. While they may eventually negotiate, their initial stance is firm, pushing for high initial payments or rapid debt clearance. Clients advise others to "be direct" and "stand firm about what you can and can’t do" regarding payments.
-
Recorded Conversations: It is explicitly stated that "they do record all conversations." This is a significant feature, as it means all interactions are documented. This can be a double-edged sword: it provides a record for both parties but requires individuals to be precise and truthful in their statements.
-
Lack of Empathy Towards Personal Circumstances (as perceived by clients): Reviewers noted that the firm's representatives "don’t have any sympathy or empathy towards your personal life," even when economic hardships like job loss (e.g., due to Covid) are explained. Their primary focus remains on debt recovery for their clients.
-
Willingness to Negotiate (eventually): Despite the initial firm stance, the reviews indicate that the firm is eventually willing to "agree on a month to month basis payment with a doable initial payment" if the individual stands firm and clearly states their financial limitations. This shows a capacity for negotiation within their recovery strategy.
-
Pursuit of Older Accounts: One review mentions being asked to pay a significant amount on a "4 year old account," suggesting the firm pursues older debts, sometimes with aggressive payment demands to pay off "faster."
-
Physical Presence for Collection: One severe highlight mentioned is "They sent people to my mothers house threatening to take me to court." While the legality and specific context of such visits are not detailed, this indicates a highly aggressive tactic for debt collection, potentially involving direct, in-person contact beyond traditional mail or phone calls.
These features collectively paint a picture of a debt collection firm that is assertive, direct, and focused on securing payment for its clients.
Based on the provided customer reviews and the nature of their business as a debt collection law firm, Hunt & Henriques does not offer "promotions" or "special offers" in the traditional sense, such as discounted rates or free consultations for the debtor. Their objective is to recover funds on behalf of their creditor clients.
However, as indicated by the client review, they are open to negotiating payment arrangements. While this is not a "promotion," it represents a key aspect of their process:
-
Negotiable Payment Plans: The firm will engage in discussions to establish month-to-month payment plans, and initial payment amounts can be negotiated down to a "doable" level, provided the individual stands firm and clearly communicates their financial capacity. This is a crucial "offer" or flexibility point for individuals struggling to pay the full amount upfront.
Individuals dealing with Hunt & Henriques should understand that any "offer" for a payment plan is part of their strategy to recover the debt and should be approached with careful consideration of one's financial ability. It is highly recommended for individuals to seek independent legal advice from a consumer protection attorney or credit counselor when engaging in such negotiations to understand their rights and options fully.
For specific details on payment arrangements or to discuss your particular debt situation, direct communication with Hunt & Henriques is the only way to proceed, keeping in mind that all calls are recorded.

For locals, being aware of this recording policy means they can ensure they are precise and accurate in their communication, creating a documented history of interactions.
