Welcome to the platform for Nearby Lawyers! If you are seeking legal representation in the Media, Pennsylvania area, Herr Vicki operates from her office located at 14 S Orange St. While specific details about the office environment are not provided, its location on South Orange Street suggests accessibility within Media. As an attorney with a practice in the area, Vicki Herr is available to local users seeking legal counsel.
Given the limited information available regarding the specifics of the office environment, it is challenging to provide a detailed description. However, law offices typically maintain a professional setting for client meetings and consultations, ensuring privacy and a suitable atmosphere for discussing legal matters. The office at 14 S Orange St is likely to offer such a space for individuals seeking the services of Vicki Herr.
The provided reviews offer some insight into the services and approach of Herr Vicki. One review mentions an aggravated assault case, indicating that criminal defense may be one area of her practice. The review also touches upon fee arrangements and the handling of specific legal procedures, such as a motion for acquittal and a bill of particulars. However, this review expresses dissatisfaction with the outcome and the attorney's handling of the case.
Another review provides a more detailed account of a client's experience. This review suggests that while Vicki Herr may have established a positive reputation in the past, the client's recent impression was that her current approach involves minimal effort. The client raised several concerns, including a lack of thorough explanation of processes, perceived dismissiveness when questions were asked due to her being "too busy," a reported lack of knowledge about the police system, and a general sense that the client's best interests were not prioritized. This review also mentions that speaking with prior clients led to similar concerns about the level of effort in their cases.
Furthermore, the second review details a negative experience regarding the refund of a flat fee after the client decided to terminate the representation. The client alleges that Ms. Herr included hours from a separate flat fee arrangement and then charged an hourly rate for everything to retain more of the initial payment, describing this as unethical and a violation of fee guidelines, leading to a fee dispute. The reviewer characterizes Ms. Herr as "callous" and advises potential clients to consider whether they are willing to pay for what they perceive as minimal work and a potentially suboptimal outcome.
Based on the provided reviews, several features of Vicki Herr's practice are highlighted, although with significant negative feedback:
- Experience: One reviewer acknowledges her long-standing presence and previously good reputation, dating back to 1985.
- Criminal Defense (Potentially): The mention of an aggravated assault case suggests experience in criminal defense matters.
- Deal-Making Approach: One review indicates a preference for making deals, although with perceived shortcomings in execution.
However, the overwhelming sentiment in the reviews presents serious concerns regarding her current practice:
- Perceived Lack of Effort: Multiple points in the reviews suggest a perception that Ms. Herr is doing the minimum amount of work.
- Poor Communication: Failure to explain processes and abruptness when questioned are noted.
- Questionable Billing Practices: Allegations of unethical billing practices related to flat fee refunds are raised.
- Doubtful Client Advocacy: Concerns are expressed about whether the client's best interests are truly being served.
- Knowledge Deficits: A perceived lack of knowledge about the police system is mentioned.
Given the strongly negative nature of the recent feedback, it is challenging to identify positive promotional aspects based solely on these reviews. The reviews themselves serve as a cautionary note for potential clients. The only potentially neutral point is the mention of her long-established presence in the community, suggesting familiarity with the local legal landscape, although the recent experiences described raise significant questions about the current quality of her services.
For local users in Media, PA, who are considering legal representation from Herr Vicki, it is crucial to carefully consider the feedback provided by past clients. The reviews raise serious concerns about communication, effort, billing practices, and client advocacy. While Ms. Herr has been practicing for a significant period, the recent experiences shared suggest potential issues that prospective clients should be aware of and explore further before making a decision. It would be prudent to seek additional information, possibly from other sources or by directly discussing these concerns with Ms. Herr during a consultation, although the reviews indicate potential challenges in communication.
In conclusion, while Herr Vicki has been practicing law in Media, PA for a considerable time, the recent reviews present significant negative feedback regarding her current approach to client service, communication, effort, and billing practices. Local users seeking legal representation should carefully weigh this information and consider conducting thorough due diligence before engaging her services. The office is located at 14 S Orange St, and she can be reached at (610) 566-5144.

Sadly she's been on cruise control for as far back as I can remember. 1985) Making deals is what she likes to do but falls short even with that. She requested 12grand for an agg. assault case. She wanted 1000 a week until paid. Got 7000 and forgot or didn't care to a motion that if I was the main person I would be acquitted. Bill of particulars. Thank Mrs. Herr-Kovacks
While I applaud Vicki for having established a good reputation for herself decades ago, my impression is that she is coasting her way through trying to do as little as possible while still collecting your money. 1) She does not spend the time to explain proceses/procedures, 2) and if you ask her, she abruptly says 'she's too busy,' or 'doing something way too important' (without offering another chance to explain), 3) showed deficits in knowledge about the police system, and 4) generally we did not get the sense she had the client's (a family member of mine) best interest. I reached out to some her prior clients who I knew, and they thought that more could have been done in their cases. One even had to ask Vicki about a work-release option; she would have never pursued it on her own! We fired her, and the worst part of it is is that in determining a refund of the flat fee we paid in advance, she added up the hours including work from a separate flat fee arrangment, and then charged an hourly rate for everything!!! Basically, she did that in order to keep hold of the retainer money she really never earned! It's disgusting, unethical, a complete violation of fee guidelines, and infuriating. Needless to say, there is a fee dispute. But I'm sure she's pulled this stunt on others. No person who acts like this should be responsible for representing other individuals. She's totally calllous. If you want to pay money to someone who wants to get by doing the minimal work, and thereby guaranteeing a suboptimal outcome, go with Vicki.
