The WORST attorney I have ever encountered, and I know hundreds. I cannot express enough how unethical and lazy she is. In three years, Janet did not even manage to depose one witness in our case. She cannot respond to an email in under two weeks or answer a direct question...and she sneaks a clause in her contract about a non-refundable upfront fee that she keeps for doing absolutely nothing. Those are unenforceable, according to my attorney I am using to sue her for malpractice, unless she can genuinely prove she "earned" it, which of course she did not. Don't just stop and writing a bad review on Janet. At least file a complaint with the WI Bar. I am organizing a class action against her as we speak. Please find me and contact me if you think Janet has ripped you off. She must be stopped.

Our settlement check is late more months than not. This month had to call again two days ago and still nothing. Secretary forgot to mail it out and when I asked to drive an hour to pick it up like we've done several times before when they forget to mail it I was told no I can leave Janet a voicemail....I can't even talk to her secretary only her secretary's secretary to get an answer as to why I can't pick it up. Just a relayed message saying she's new... Well turns out calling three days ago the secretary "forgot" to mail it and it's a week late and I offered to drive the hour and half to pick it up unfortunately we've had to do this multiple times when they forget and it gets to be almost a month late and I was told she'd be back in the office then no she wouldn't for the day and it's locked in there so try to pick up the second day and nope go figure bow supposedly the check didn't clear but will on Monday. (It's Friday) A. Why wasn't that said when the secretary said she would mail it three days ago or at all? I would think that's a problem! B. She's also psychic because she knows it'll clear Monday. From the record of carelessness from an attorney who represents people who've obviously lost jobs unlawfully and are digging out of a hole and overdue bills and a two year old every month having to be reminded on top of auto deposit that was never set up after promising several months of how am I not to believe she's doing this on purpose. Especially with the apology from her secretary with a sigh and irritating demeanor like I'm an inconvenience and in Janet's words. That's all I can do. Sorry. Not I apologize for once again ruining your credit due to our office moving(down the hall by the way)

I had Hein Law Firm represent me in 2012 against a large property management firm in milwaukee. I did work with Janet at the beginning and the end and a newer atty. in between. It did settle out of court rather quickly but because of a law the company I sued exercised and I wish I would have been told about but in general I was happy. My calls were returned, and my settlement was paid out with in a week of signing papers. At the final consult they took there time explaining everything to me. Matter of fact the reason I fell apon this is because I was looking up the number for my mother because she is going thru something at work. I would recommend

Janet Heins helped me with invaluable expert legal advice over the telephone FOR FREE. She listened intently and empathetically. She expressed genuine concern. Her wise counsel during that 15 minute phone call made all the difference in the world with my situation and I will be forever grateful. To hwdS

Horrible. I had a case with HEIN she stopped seeing me and had me talk to her young assistant mean guy fresh out of college for the rest of my case. All she would do is then sit at her desk eating donuts. He was mean and bad. They just took me for a ride with my money. After my case was closed, I got a letter saying hundreds of dollars MORE that I owe them. Bull charges like $75 for each phone call, $25 for each paper printed etc. Stuff they, I KNOW, they didn't do but yeah, save your $, DO NOT SEE THEM. THEY ARE RIPOFFS AND DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOU. TRUST ME, FORMER PERSON WHO WORKED WITH THEM.

Regarding the environment of Heins Employment Law Practice LLC, specific details are not publicly available beyond the address indicating a suite within a commercial building. Typically, law offices aim to provide a professional and confidential setting for client interactions. This generally includes a reception area for greeting clients, private meeting rooms for discussions, and functional workspaces. The intent behind such an environment is to facilitate focused legal work and ensure client privacy. Being located in a suite within a larger building suggests a standard office setup, which would likely include amenities conducive to professional operations. However, no further information regarding specific decor, accessibility features, or the general atmosphere of the office is provided in the publicly available data.
While the full breadth of services offered by Heins Employment Law Practice LLC is not explicitly detailed in the provided information, the name "Employment Law Practice" strongly suggests a specialization in legal matters pertaining to the workplace. Therefore, it is reasonable to infer that the services primarily focus on employment and labor law. This would typically include, but may not be limited to, the following areas:
- Wrongful Termination: Representing employees who believe they have been unlawfully fired from their jobs, often involving breaches of contract, discrimination, or retaliation.
- Workplace Discrimination: Addressing cases of discrimination based on protected characteristics such as age, race, gender, religion, national origin, disability, or sexual orientation.

- Non-Compete Agreements: Providing counsel on the enforceability and implications of non-compete clauses in employment contracts.
- Workplace Investigations: Potentially advising employers on internal investigations into employee misconduct or complaints, or representing employees involved in such investigations.
It is important to note that without more specific details, this is an inferred list based on the practice name and general scope of employment law.
Regarding the features and promotional information of Heins Employment Law Practice LLC, based on the provided customer reviews, there are significant concerns raised by clients. The reviews describe extremely negative experiences, directly contradicting what would typically be features highlighted in promotional materials. For instance, common features promoted by law firms include:
- Expertise and Knowledge: A firm would typically highlight its deep understanding of relevant legal fields.
- Responsiveness and Communication: Emphasizing prompt replies to inquiries and clear communication throughout the legal process.
- Ethical Conduct and Professionalism: Upholding high standards of integrity and diligent representation.
- Client-Centered Approach: Focusing on the client's needs and working towards their best interests.
- Effective Case Management: Demonstrating efficient handling of legal procedures and timely progress in cases.
- Successful Outcomes: Highlighting favorable results achieved for clients.
However, the provided reviews directly dispute these typical promotional features. One review describes the attorney as "unethical and lazy," stating that she "did not even manage to depose one witness in our case" over three years. This suggests a lack of progress and diligence. The review also mentions an inability to "respond to an email in under two weeks or answer a direct question," indicating significant issues with responsiveness and communication. Furthermore, concerns are raised about a "non-refundable upfront fee that she keeps for doing absolutely nothing," with the reviewer contemplating legal action for malpractice. This points to potential issues with fee transparency and ethical billing practices. Another review details persistent problems with late settlement checks, difficulties in communication with the office, and a perceived lack of care regarding the client's financial hardship. The phrase "secretary forgot to mail it out" and multiple instances of having to "drive an hour to pick it up" highlight severe administrative and logistical failures. The communication breakdown, where the client "can't even talk to her secretary only her secretary's secretary," further suggests a dysfunctional office structure and poor client service. The tone of frustration and accusation in the reviews, including talk of a "class action against her" and filing a complaint with the WI Bar, indicates serious dissatisfaction with the services rendered and professional conduct. The reviews reflect a stark contrast to the positive attributes typically sought in a legal professional, such as reliability, transparency, and effective advocacy.
For local users in Mequon, WI, seeking employment law services, the information available, particularly the customer reviews, presents a critical perspective on Heins Employment Law Practice LLC. While the location at 1001 W Glen Oaks Ln #103 provides physical accessibility, the overriding information from client feedback points to significant issues with the quality of service, communication, and professional ethics. Promotional efforts for any legal practice typically focus on building trust and demonstrating competence. However, in this instance, the available public information from former clients suggests considerable challenges in these areas. For individuals considering this firm, it would be prudent to thoroughly investigate and consider the concerns raised in these public reviews. The direct phone lines, (262) 241-8444 and +1 262-241-8444, are the primary points of contact for any inquiries.
