Reviews

  • Very knowledgeable lawyer. He listened to my story and acknowledged what I'm going through and then provided honest feedback. We went through a few scenarios and conclusions to determine the best outcome. Even though it did not make sense to move forward with his services, he still spent the time to put my wife and I at ease. I hope to never have to use law services again, but if I do, I will definitely come back for another consultation with Trevor.
  • BEWARE -- BEWARE --BEWARE DO YOUR RESESRCH FIRST. I would say, Mr. Hatfield deserves no star for how he represented me. But I can't evern say that.because, what he did to me I do not consider it to be representation. What few things he did do I consider to be negligent. Yes, I can say that without the wory of recourse, because I have the documentation to prove it. The things Mr. Hatfield did for me are: 1) Combined my 2 claims together and filed them in court. After I Signed an agreement with him to file an Employment Discrimination Claim in court with a letter to sue. During consultation I told him 2nd. Claim was to be Negotiated out or court. It was a Breached Settlement Agreement, which Mr. Hatfield confirmed. I knew the Company would settle out of court, because they couldn't deny it was Breached. 2) Both claims were being settled at the ENE. Although I was led to believe it was just the Employment Discrimination claim. Mr. Hatfield made sure he received MORE MONEY than his estimated cost and Attroney fees for taking this case through trial. He stated the amount in the ENE briefing that was sent to the Judge. Yet it settled at ENE 3) The extent of Mr. Hatfield's legal advice to me during the ENE, was to sign the ENE agreement that he read, which did not contain a very important thing that I Negotiated for. And contained something never discussed during the ENE, His negligence would have cost me the loss of two open claims. When I confronted him with the 2 claims I was going to loose, His exact words to me through email were, " That's News to me" not very concerned. He didnt know because he put the 2 claims together. 4) Mr. Hatfield's LIED when he stated in the ENE Briefing that there were no prior negotiations. There were prior negotiations. 5) Mr. Hatfield claims he got me a good Settlement. Let's see. He got me less than I was offered 3-1/2 yrs. Earlier After waiting 2-1/2 yrs. for an EEOC investigation, by the same Attroney( that ofered me alot more)for my Employment Discrimination Claim only. Therfore that means $ZERO $$$ for my Breach which was clearly Breached more than once. I should have been made whole, but instead received nothing. Mr. Hatfield insists that I have been compensated for all claims. If a Settlement Agreement says you are suppose to start work on a certain date and the Company does not honor that date and has you start 3 months later, causing you a 3 months loss of pay, Isn't that A Breach? So for Mr. Hatfield to say in the ENE Briefing document, that one of the weaknesses was proving the Settlement Agreement was Breached. I'm not sure what his definition of a breach is. 6) So the Settlement agreement that was Breached, is what I was received from the company because of a previous claim. So the company gave me nothing for that claim Because MR. HATFIELD DECIDED TO COMBINE 2 CLAIMS WITHOUT HIS CLIENTS KNOWLEDGE, or any legal agreement allowing him to have done anything with that Breached Settlement Agreement. The paper I signed said Employment Discrimination, it never said Breach. 7) Beware if you have multiple claims. Also Mr. Hatfield will not respond to your questions in emails ,when confronted with things that dont seem right. I have many emails where he responds back but not to answer any questions. But talks about something totally different. Only wants to talk on phone or in person. WISHED I READ THE BBB COMPLAINT BEFORE I HIRED HIM. I SEE IM NOT THE ONLY ONE WHO FEELS THIS WAY.
  • I credit the work of Trevor Hatfield as a major reason my business went from a small clinic to a larger corporation. Back Story: The psychiatric industry in Pahrump Nevada has always been dominated and controlled by a network of much larger doctors who use legal aggression and underhanded tactics to push the newcomers and younger clinicians out of town. This has kept them in power for over 20 years. At one time I was a worker for one of these established Pahrump psychiatric superpowers, but one day I made the decision to create my own program. After about a year in business, the larger corporations began to use legal actions against me and even tried to blackmail me to leave Pahrump. I needed protection and my own outlet of offense, however none of the other lawyers in Las Vegas seemed to have the courage to take on the overwhelmingly intimidating psychiatric superpowers of Pahrump. I didn't know what to do as all the lawyers were throwing me out of their office after consultation. However, my Dad who is retired commissioned officer in the marine corp did his own research online, and told me to call Trevor Hatfield all due to the fact that he was also a marine. My Dad told me that any former marine would be the best choice because they would transfer over that "never give up," and "always take the hardest jobs" mentality into whatever work they were doing in the present. And he was right!!! We decided to countersue the my opposition. Hatfield was so tactically aggressive and always several step ahead of the opposition that after about 6 months they contacted me that they wished to drop their lawsuit against me and offer me a settlement. They offered me a large portion of their corporation if I just went away, and agreed to never sue each other again. The work that Hatfield did for me, pushed my company from a small business to a corporation that made over a million dollars this year. I really appreciate everything he did for me.
  • I highly recommend Hatfield & Associates, Ltd. to anyone in need of legal assistance. They combine skill, integrity, and a genuine passion for helping their clients, making them a standout choice in their field.
  • The Consultation was awful! Mr. Hatfield had no empathy regarding my wrongful termination case. I have plenty of evidence that supports my Complaints. I was WRONGFULLY TERMINATED. And Mr. Hartfield scolded me! Trying to Encourage me not to pursue a litigation, even though I had already received a RIGHT TO SUE letter from EEOC & NERC 😅 I would not recommend Hatfield & Associates ltd.

About Hatfield & Associates, Ltd

Navigating the legal landscape in Nevada can often be a complex and sometimes challenging journey for individuals seeking justice or resolution for their legal matters. When considering legal representation in Las Vegas, it's natural to seek a firm that is both knowledgeable and provides clear, honest guidance. Hatfield & Associates, Ltd offers legal services to the community, and understanding their approach to client interaction and case management is key for prospective clients.

One client's experience highlights the initial consultation process, where attorney Trevor (presumably a lawyer at the firm) was described as "very knowledgeable," listened attentively, and provided "honest feedback." This indicates a firm that is willing to invest time in understanding a client's situation and offering candid advice, even if it means suggesting that legal services may not be the most sensible path forward for a particular issue. For many, this upfront honesty and willingness to explore scenarios can be a valuable aspect of the consultation process, helping to put potential clients at ease during a stressful time.

However, it is also important for prospective clients to be aware of the range of experiences reported by past clients. While some appreciate the initial guidance, others have expressed significant concerns regarding various aspects of representation, including communication, case management, and outcomes. These differing perspectives underscore the importance of thorough personal research and direct communication when choosing legal counsel, ensuring that a firm's practices align with your expectations and needs for your specific legal matter.

Features / Highlights

Hatfield & Associates, Ltd presents a mixed set of features and highlights based on client experiences. It's important to consider both positive and negative feedback to gain a comprehensive understanding:

  • Knowledgeable Lawyer: One positive highlight is that Trevor, presumably a lawyer at the firm, is described as a "Very knowledgeable lawyer." This indicates a strong grasp of legal principles and relevant case law in areas they practice.
  • Active Listening and Acknowledgment: The firm is praised for listening to clients' stories and acknowledging their struggles. This empathetic approach during initial consultations can make clients feel understood and validated.
  • Honest Feedback and Scenario Planning: Clients appreciate receiving "honest feedback" and going through "a few scenarios and conclusions to determine the best outcome." This suggests a commitment to transparent advice and helping clients weigh their options.
  • Willingness to Put Clients at Ease: Even when advising against pursuing services, the firm spent time to "put my wife and I at ease," indicating a client-focused approach that prioritizes comfort and understanding over immediate financial gain.

However, it is crucial to also consider the concerns raised by another client, which highlight potential areas for caution:

  • Concerns about Representation Quality: A significant concern is the claim of "negligent" representation and the assertion that "Mr. Hatfield deserves no star for how he represented me."
  • Allegations of Unauthorized Claim Combination: A client reported that their two claims were combined and filed in court without their prior knowledge or a specific agreement for the second claim, which was intended for out-of-court negotiation.
  • Discrepancies in Settlement Negotiations: There were allegations of being misled about which claims were being settled at an ENE, and concerns about the attorney's fees being set higher than estimated trial costs despite the case settling earlier.
  • Concerns about Legal Advice during ENE: The advice during ENE was questioned, specifically regarding signing an agreement that allegedly omitted a key negotiated point and included something never discussed, potentially leading to the loss of claims.
  • Allegations of Misinformation: A client stated that Mr. Hatfield "LIED when he stated in the ENE Briefing that there were no prior negotiations," despite evidence to the contrary.
  • Dissatisfaction with Settlement Outcome: A client reported receiving a lower settlement than an earlier offer for one claim and effectively "$ZERO $$$" for a second, clearly breached claim, contrary to the attorney's insistence that all claims were compensated.
  • Concerns about Communication Practices: A client noted that Mr. Hatfield would "not respond to your questions in emails, when confronted with things that don't seem right," preferring phone or in-person communication while avoiding direct answers in writing.
  • Client Awareness of Public Complaints: The mention of reading a "BBB Complaint" suggests that this is not an isolated concern and that other clients may have reported similar issues.

Prospective clients in Nevada should consider both the positive feedback regarding initial consultations and the serious concerns raised about ongoing representation when evaluating Hatfield & Associates, Ltd.

Promotions or Special Offers

The provided information does not explicitly state any specific promotions or special offers from Hatfield & Associates, Ltd. However, like many law firms, especially those that offer initial consultations, certain practices are common:

  • Initial Consultations: One review highlights that the firm "spent the time to put my wife and I at ease" during a consultation, even when advising against moving forward with their services. This indicates that they do offer consultations to prospective clients, which may be complimentary or for a nominal fee to discuss the case's viability and provide preliminary advice. This is a common practice that benefits clients by allowing them to assess their options and the firm's fit without an immediate financial commitment for the full scope of services.

Conclusion: Why this place is suitable for locals

For residents of Nevada, particularly those in the Las Vegas area, considering legal assistance, Hatfield & Associates, Ltd presents a complex profile that necessitates careful consideration. The suitability of this firm for locals depends heavily on the specific needs of the individual and their priorities when seeking legal counsel.

On one hand, the firm appears capable of providing valuable initial consultations. For locals who are unsure about their legal standing or need an honest assessment of their situation, the experience of having a "very knowledgeable lawyer" like Trevor who listens and provides "honest feedback" can be a significant benefit. This upfront, no-pressure approach can help individuals "put... at ease" and determine whether pursuing legal action is truly in their best interest, even if it means not proceeding with the firm's services. This consultative strength makes the firm potentially suitable for locals seeking preliminary legal guidance and clarity on their options before making a commitment.

On the other hand, the detailed negative review highlights substantial concerns regarding ongoing representation, communication practices, and case management. Allegations of claims being combined without client knowledge, discrepancies in settlement negotiations, and issues with written communication raise red flags for potential clients. For locals who prioritize meticulous case management, transparent communication, and a clear understanding of every step of their legal journey, these reported experiences suggest the need for heightened vigilance and a thorough vetting process.

In conclusion, while Hatfield & Associates, Ltd may be suitable for locals seeking an initial, honest legal consultation to gauge the viability of their case, prospective clients are strongly advised to perform extensive due diligence. This includes carefully discussing communication protocols, fee structures, and case strategy in detail, and perhaps seeking multiple consultations to compare approaches, especially if their case involves multiple, distinct claims. Ensuring clear written agreements and maintaining detailed records of all communications would be particularly prudent for any local considering engaging this firm for comprehensive legal representation.
