Gwinnett County District Atty Introduce
Welcome to Nearby Lawyers, your local platform for information on legal resources within your community. Here, we introduce the Gwinnett County District Attorney's Office, located at 75 Langley Dr, Lawrenceville, GA 30046, USA. The District Attorney's Office serves as the prosecuting body for Gwinnett County, handling criminal cases within its jurisdiction. You can reach their office at (770) 822-8400 or via mobile at +1 770-822-8400.
As a governmental entity, the environment of the Gwinnett County District Attorney's Office is likely to be professional and focused on the administration of justice. While specific details about the office's physical ambiance are not typically publicized in the same way as private law firms, its function within the legal system suggests a setting where legal proceedings are prepared and managed. The positive review mentioning a caring and helpful staff indicates a human element within this official environment, where individuals seeking assistance can find support.
The primary service of the Gwinnett County District Attorney's Office is the prosecution of criminal offenses that occur within Gwinnett County. This involves reviewing evidence, filing charges, and representing the state in court proceedings against individuals accused of crimes. Beyond prosecution, the office also plays a crucial role in victim support. The positive feedback received specifically highlights the caring and helpful nature of the staff, including an ADA (Assistant District Attorney) Mikaela Henderson and a Victim Advocate Sonia Davis-Bey. Their actions of meeting with individuals, listening to concerns, and developing a plan of action demonstrate a commitment to supporting those affected by crime.
Conversely, one critical review presents a starkly different perspective, alleging prejudice within the county jail system and citing a prolonged detention without a bond hearing or access to legal counsel. This review claims a failure to notify the individual of court appearances despite no change in address or phone number. This feedback raises serious concerns about due process and the treatment of individuals within the system. It is important to acknowledge both positive and negative feedback to provide a balanced, objective view based on the available information.
Based on the provided reviews, several features of the Gwinnett County District Attorney's Office emerge. One notable feature, as highlighted by a positive experience, is the presence of caring and helpful staff who are willing to listen to concerns and develop action plans. The recognition of specific individuals like ADA Mikaela Henderson and Victim Advocate Sonia Davis-Bey underscores the positive impact certain members of the team can have on those they serve, particularly victims of crime seeking support and guidance through the legal process.
However, another significant feature, as indicated by the negative review, is the potential for serious issues within the broader system connected to the District Attorney's Office, specifically concerning the county jail and the adherence to due process. Allegations of prejudice, prolonged detention without legal representation or bond hearings, and failures in notification are critical and point to potential systemic problems that could impact individuals interacting with the criminal justice system in Gwinnett County.
Given the nature of a District Attorney's Office as a public entity responsible for upholding the law, traditional promotional information is not applicable. Their "promotion" is inherently tied to their effectiveness in ensuring public safety and administering justice fairly. The positive feedback regarding victim support could be seen as an indicator of their commitment to serving the community beyond prosecution. Highlighting the availability of victim advocates and the willingness of staff to engage with individuals demonstrates a valuable aspect of their service to those directly affected by crime.
On the other hand, the negative review serves as a critical point that cannot be ignored. It underscores the importance of accountability and due process within the criminal justice system. While this review focuses on the jail system, the oversight and interaction between the District Attorney's Office and correctional facilities are often intertwined. Therefore, this feedback is relevant to understanding the broader experience of individuals within the Gwinnett County legal framework.
In conclusion, the Gwinnett County District Attorney's Office in Lawrenceville, GA, plays a vital role in the local legal system by prosecuting criminal offenses and providing support to victims of crime. Positive feedback indicates the presence of caring and helpful staff, particularly within victim advocacy. However, a critical review raises serious allegations regarding prejudice and due process within the county jail system, highlighting potential systemic issues. For local users, it is important to be aware of both aspects of the available feedback when considering interactions with the Gwinnett County District Attorney's Office and the broader criminal justice system in the area. The office can be contacted at (770) 822-8400 or +1 770-822-8400 for official inquiries and services related to criminal prosecution and victim support within Gwinnett County.

Just wanted to share that my wife and I had a very positive experience with the Gwinnett County DA's Office. We found their staff very caring and helpful. They took the time to meet with us, listen to our concerns, and develop a plan of action. We would like to thank ADA Mikaela Henderson and Victim Advocate Sonia Davis-Bey. These two are amazing!
This is a very prejudice jail my son has been locked up since October 8, 2024... He has not had a bond hearing nor has he seen a lawyer... He is locked up for not appearing in court... But how can you appear in court if you never received documents to come to court.. our address and phone number has not changed... I wished I could have gave them a 0%

Make no mistake that all of these folks only care about their conviction rate. Absolutely no concern for the people of Gwinnett who have to deal with these officers on their power trips overcharging on everything. Don’t even get me started on how the police and DA will handle your mentally ill family member in a crisis. Just know that if you call them, someone will end up dead or in jail with some overreacting charge that does absolutely nothing but make the situation 10x worse for the family. Mind you, while they’re in custody, they won’t be given any of the prescription medications that the court has ordered them to take on a daily basis. Your daughters will be taken to the infirmary and stripped completely naked, tied to a bed and fondled because there are no cameras in that area. The entire system in Gwinnett needs an overhaul. It’s beyond atrocious, and people who work hard and pay taxes should not settle for this.

I literally wish I can give them no stars. These people do not care about anything but themselves in their family i’d hate for them or a family member to run into a tragedy. Everything is done on their sweet time no movement or urgency they’re also very rude when you call and try to get information on your case that you do have. They are the problem and need new staff. I’m working legally an personally to go above everybody’s head ,because they done bump their head an are crazy.I would hate for a tragedy to happen at their office playing with people being rude. We matter and I am super Duper tired of calling and getting nowhere. Report these people!

I’d leave 0 but it won’t let me… the DA in Gwinnett needs removal. Her constant attacks on hemp businesses that are legal and taxed are ridiculous like nobody wants hemp to go away. Maybe she’ll get a clue when she’s kicked out
