I was involved in a motor vehicle accident on my way home from work one night. I am a medical professional and was riding an electric scooter through an intersection. A car made a left hand turn and made contact with me - throwing me from the scooter and fracturing my scapula and patella on my left side. I spent nearly 3 weeks in the hospital after having surgery and subsequent rehab. I had to work in order to walk again and get my range of motion back on my left side. In the subsequent weeks during my recuperation, it became apparent I would need an advocate to help me in my recovery efforts to be made whole in the wake of the accident. After having my husband do research online, we decided to have Robert Erney of Erney Law represent me. I was very scared going into this. I didn’t want to need an attorney, much less find one that I felt like would work for me. Just the thought of anything having to do with court and pursuing this matter scared me.
