Divorce Matters Introduce
Divorce Matters, located at 8390 E Crescent Pkwy Suite 500, Greenwood Village, CO 80111, specializes in family law, particularly divorce and related matters. The firm aims to provide legal assistance during challenging times, but client experiences vary.
As part of the "Nearby Lawyers" category, Divorce Matters offers divorce-related legal services. However, potential clients should be aware of mixed reviews regarding the firm's timeliness and communication.
One client review highlights a significant concern regarding the firm's handling of a unique business-related legal issue within a divorce case. The review states, "If you are wanting someone to handle your case in a timely manner, Divorce Matters is NOT the place." The client expresses frustration over a two-year delay in receiving a definitive answer about the viability of their case, suggesting potential issues with research and communication. The client also mentions "poor response times and multiple excuses." This review raises concerns about the firm's ability to handle complex or atypical cases efficiently.
However, the same review offers high praise for paralegal Robin Reed: "The five stars are specifically for Robin Reed, and not the firm. Robin has been integral in calming me down during a wild rollercoaster of a divorce. She's responsive, genial, and knows how to read the room, or in my case, she knows how to read the client's mood. More importantly, she knows how to address the mood appropriately, which I have appreciated beyond what I can put into words." The client acknowledges Robin's exceptional support and communication skills, especially during emotional times.
Another client review also notes that everyone they spoke to at the firm was friendly and had good intentions. This positive aspect contrasts with the negative experience regarding timeliness.
The mixed reviews indicate that while Divorce Matters has staff members who are compassionate and helpful, particularly Robin Reed, potential clients should be aware of potential delays and communication issues. It is recommended to discuss timelines and communication expectations thoroughly before engaging their services.
The office is located on East Crescent Parkway in Greenwood Village. They can be reached at (720) 542-6142, or via mobile at +1 720-542-6142.
If you are considering Divorce Matters for your legal needs, particularly divorce-related matters, it is advisable to weigh the positive feedback regarding staff friendliness and paralegal support against the reported concerns about timeliness and communication. Clear and open communication with the firm about expectations and timelines is strongly recommended.

I am only rating this company five stars because everyone I have spoken to has been friendly. They have good intentions and want to help, but let me be clear: I do not recommend this law firm (or maybe it’s just the one lawyer I had interacted with) simply for the timing aspect. If you are wanting someone to handle your case in a timely manner, Divorce Matters is NOT the place. Long story short, I had a business issue and I understand that my circumstances were unique. Basically no other lawyer in Colorado specialized in what I needed (and I called many), and this law firm is not who you’d expect to handle my case, either. But, I would have appreciated to be denied up front, instead of stringing me along for the last two years. Upon explaining my situation during my first consult in 2023 and presenting my supporting documents, the lawyer said YES to taking my case. I assumed that they had done their research BEFORE I signed a contract and paid for time to speak with said lawyer. I accept the reality that my case is not possible. Maybe it was viable at the time, and I just didn’t find the right lawyer. However, it would have been great to know this in 2023, instead of learning it today in 2025. They had so much time to figure out whether or not I could have been helped, and only just now did their research over the past month. If nothing else, I’d like my money back for the waste of time. As a business myself, I would never charge a client for something I couldn’t perform due to lack of experience or knowledge. I would have assessed the situation and been honest with myself and my client. I digress. Like many have said, I fell victim to their poor response times and multiple excuses. Perhaps it’s just the fault of one of their lawyers, who may have bitten off more than she could chew.
The five stars are specifically for Robin Reed, and not the firm. Robin has been integral in calming me down during a wild rollercoaster of a divorce. She's responsive, genial, and knows how to read the room, or in my case, she knows how to read the client's mood. More importantly, she knows how to address the mood appropriately, which I have appreciated beyond what I can put into words. Moments after I have exchanged terse words, she was calling me up to figure out a solution to my latest and greatest problem with the firm. She is the best paralegal and one of the best humans, in general. Going through a divorce is rough, but she allows for clients to be able to explain how we feel while working toward a forward resolution; that makes all the difference.
Stay away from this firm. They consistently did not return emails, calls, deadlines, and requests for meetings. Sometimes, I would wait 1 month to finally receive communication after multiple attempts of requests. I did not feel like they advised me with regard to my best interest. It felt like they did the bare minimum and charged me a lot for very little expertise, time, effort, and very little respect for me. My case was very simple. It should have been completed in a couple of months. It dragged on for over 8 months, which is mostly to blame because this firms lack or care and efficiency. At one point, a new lawyer was assigned to me because they admitted that my first attorney had too much on her plate. Unfortunately, the second attorney was just as disrespectful to my services requested and was equally not timely. She even missed a big deadlines imposed by the opposing attorney. It made my separation experience from my ex even more difficult and painful because of this firms lack of care, professionalism, respect, diligence, expertise, communication, and time efficiency. It feels like they just wanted my money and more and more of my money for very little service or expertise from the firm. The firm did not protect my interests and showed little care, value, or urgency/timeless with my case. They even missed deadlines related to my case. It cost me dearly in time, money, protection of my interests, and stress. I was told often that they will get back to me and my attorney is preparing for other cases. It made me feel like my time, case, interests had very little importance and urgency. It felt like they did the bare minimum and charged me a lot.
Divorce Matters is the worst law firm I’ve ever dealt with. I’ve had a terrible experience and I’ll never use them again. I want to let others know so they don’t get caught in a nightmare. I have a pretty straight forward case that has taken almost two years primarily because my lawyer doesn’t keep her commitments and takes several days / weeks to respond to my e-mails. It took a year to get to mediation the first time (life insurance issue) because she was not pro-active and I had to constantly remind her to get things done. It’s now a year later and we are still not in mediation for a simple child support issue. Weeks often go by before I get time to talk to my lawyer. She is poor at communicating with me and opposing council and is often unprepared for meetings / calls. As a result, we end up hashing out the same discussion multiple times and it’s costing me a tremendous amount of money. I’ve asked for help from one of the partners and another lawyer and they really haven’t done anything to help. They often ignore my e-mails too. They continue to show little regard to bring my case to completion which allows them to keep generating revenue. They do one thing well . . . they never fail to bill me on time and make a concerted effort to get paid. I’ve spent a ridiculous amount of money - my entire divorce cost much less.
We have worked with Miranda Bouchey at Divorce Matters and can highly highly recommend her. She genuinely cares about our family and works incredibly hard on our case. She can understand the pain and tension we feel as parents as we deal with an ex and can also understand how our situation impacts our kids. She has made herself available to us; previous lawyers we have worked with were very hard to get a hold of, leaving us feeling abandoned at key times. Miranda is the total opposite. She prioritizes us when we need it, responds quickly to emails and makes herself available for phone consultations. We have felt so supported by her. She is also incredibly smart and competent. She knows the law and how to apply it to our situation. She is on top of every deadline and produces high quality work. She has calmly and expertly walked us through a situation we never wanted to be in. When you are walking down these terrible, messy and murky paths, you want Miranda by your side.
