David Hilles has helped me and my family with estate planning, real estate transactions and even bylaws for a nonprofit. He is the ideal family attorney - I have relied on his expertise, empathy and tenacity a number of times. David is solid: reliable, reasonable fair, and wise. He did a great job protecting my interests.

I would never recommend David Hilles to anyone. He pretended to listen and care when I sent him over supporting documents for the court and told him things that could help the case but when the day of court came he used nothing I sent and it seemed as thought he was distracted or napping during the city process. After not helping, he advised that if I didn’t like the service, I could find someone else. If I wanted him to represent me in the appeal I was told to pay $700 additional. I am highly disappointed. Unfortunately I’m required to put at least one star. If it was up to me I’d put none.

I highly recommend Mr Hilles, he won my adoption case in 5 months, not overpriced, he helped me with all the paperwork and made it a very easy process for me, he was very straightforward never sugarcoated the situation and gave me different scenarios of the possible outcomes, I can’t thank them enough. Him and his assistant Edith were always very kind to Me.

Mr. Hillis has represented me for four years in a long and painful family law case. Bottom line….David shows up and seeing him advocate for you in court is awesome. Mr. Hillis has won everytime we’ve gone to court. He’s won because he pushes the truth. His integrity is undeniable and he’s realistic in the expectations he lays out when you employ him. Let’s say that again….realistic. David has never given me false hope. He’s told me when things make sense or don’t make sense and that’s all you can ask for. Mr. Hillis tells the truth and that’s exactly why I trust his direction when he advocates for me.

After an eleven year, drawn out case, Mr. Hilles filed an appeal on my behalf and charged me the appropriate filing fees. He cashed my check but failed to pay the filing fees, even after he received a second notice for payment from the Court. Shortly thereafter, the Court dismissed my request for appeal due to my lack of payment. Mr. Hilles failed to inform me of this dismissal and of the ten-day window I was offered to resubmit my request with payment, costing me a favorable opportunity to win a $40K judgment. I later discovered he was not even an appellate lawyer. I requested an explanation of why the filing fees were not paid and why he failed to inform me of the dismissal, preventing me from refiling and Mr. Hilles has failed to respond. Either he is an extremely incompetent lawyer or he intentionally sabotaged my case after he was paid to protect my interest.
