Reviews

  • This is Julio R. Seanez posting this review about Attorney David Bonilla. He as been my lawyer for many years and I hired him originally for Guardianship cases for both my parents. His representation in court was direct, knowlegdgeable with very firm decisions. It was a hardship case for my family but favorable for my parents and myself included. He recently took care of both probates of will, also with favorable outcomes for my parents wishes. He will be my lawyer for years to come. Highly recommended.
  • Important Notice Regarding Legal Services Provided by David Bonilla & his team. I hope this message finds you well. I am reaching out to share my unfortunate experience with the legal services provided by David Bonilla and his team. My mother entrusted Mr. Bonilla to draft her living will, assuring her that everything would be taken care of seamlessly after her passing. However, I regret to inform you that this was not the case. As the beneficiary named in the living will, I never received any communication from Mr. Bonilla or his team following my mother's passing the attorney I personally hired had to go above & beyond to get what should have been provided to me. Despite assurances of a smooth process, I was left to navigate the aftermath alone. I was forced to seek alternative legal counsel and incur additional expenses to ensure that my mother's wishes were properly executed. It is deeply disappointing and unsettling to witness such a lack of integrity and follow-through from a professional entrusted with such important matters. I feel compelled to share my experience with you to prevent others from encountering similar challenges. If you are considering hiring Mr. Bonilla for legal services, I urge you to reconsider and explore other options. My experience has left me with a profound sense of disappointment and frustration, and I hope that by sharing this, others can avoid similar hardships. Seems like this is common practice based on other google reviews. I was not represented by Mr. Bonilla. However, he was paid for services by my mother & he did not follow through. To his response: I did contact you Mr. Bonilla via telephone per my mother’s request before her passing (under hospice on her death bed) because I never received my copy of the will as the listed beneficiary & you were extremely rude when I called you & you did not respond with what you commented. I called asking for a copy of the will & told me to get it from the executor (whom which was not willing to) then you hung up on me. I hope people realize that you promise the living you’ll do everything & that everything will be fine before they depart & once they’re gone you don’t keep your word. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
  • While I did not have personal representation by Mr. Bonilla, I regrettably had a professional encounter with him. He was appointed as the guardian of an estate after withdrawing as the legal representative for the original guardian. This raises ethical concerns from an outsider's perspective. My business partner, who is under Mr. Bonilla's guardianship, has been subjected to mistreatment and abuse. Since my interaction with Mr. Bonilla, I have found him to be consistently rude, unprofessional, and, in my personal experience, displaying misogynistic and potentially homophobic behavior towards myself and my wife. Furthermore, Mr. Bonilla has shown disregard for contracts and proper processes. In my recent interactions with him, he went as far as obtaining a restraining order against me, preventing me from accessing my business property, inventory, and personal family items. Despite numerous attempts to communicate with Mr. Bonilla regarding the rightful ownership of the property, he has ignored these notifications and proceeded with their sale. I have made every effort to be pleasant and available for Mr. Bonilla to contact me and share any necessary information he may require. However, one of his recent actions was particularly concerning. Our previous employees went to collect their W2s from him after he informed them that he was preparing them. However, when the employees arrived at his office, Mr. Bonilla unexpectedly informed them that he would be retroactively changing their employment status from W2 employees to 1099 independent contractors. This decision was made despite the fact that relevant information, including weekly paystubs and reports, had been consistently submitted to Mr. Bonilla. While I am not a tax expert, this retroactive change appears to be a form of tax evasion. It is worth noting that Mr. Bonilla has filed a defamation suit against me for a previous Google review I left on his page, demanding an exorbitant sum of money no less than one million dollars. Whether he is corrupt or simply incompetent, his actions raise serious questions about his ethics and practices. Based on my personal experience and the numerous reviews on here, I believe Mr. Bonilla deserves a rating of 0 stars. I strongly encourage others to scrutinize his conduct and approach before engaging his services.
  • I am writing this review to warn anyone in El Paso about the despicable and corrupt actions of David Andrew Bonilla. My experience with him has been nothing short of a nightmare, and I believe it is my duty to shed light on his unethical practices and the havoc he wreaks on innocent local business owners. Bonilla's audacity knows no bounds. He not only improperly removed me from the property where I had diligently built my business, but he went as far as obtaining a restraining order to prevent me from retrieving my own inventory. This was a calculated move to ensure I was left helpless and unable to salvage my hard-earned assets. But my suffering is not an isolated incident. It has come to my attention that numerous other business owners have fallen victim to Bonilla's malevolent schemes. He preys on hardworking individuals, exploiting his position as a lawyer to manipulate the legal system for his own gain. El Paso deserves better than this corrupt individual tarnishing its legal landscape. Bonilla's actions demonstrate a complete disregard for ethics, morality, and the well-being of small business owners. He shamelessly declares that I abandoned everything, a baseless and malicious accusation. This is the epitome of a corrupt lawyer who will stop at nothing to achieve his selfish objectives. I implore anyone associated with David Andrew Bonilla to exercise extreme caution. His reputation as a corrupt lawyer is well-earned, and his track record of destroying livelihoods speaks volumes about his character and anyone associated.
  • I'm still waiting on my W2 from a guardianship he's involved in, that lost me my job. He could write my checks but not provide my taxes? Check your privilege, prepare for an IRS Audit. You've been notified.

  • Knowledgeable and Decisive Representation (Positive): A significant highlight, as praised by one client, is Mr. Bonilla's "direct, knowledgeable with very firm decisions" in court. This indicates an attorney who is confident, well-informed, and assertive in his representation, particularly beneficial in complex and sensitive guardianship cases.
  • Successful Outcomes (Positive): The same client noted "favorable outcomes" for both guardianship and probate cases, aligning with the parents' wishes. This suggests a track record of achieving desired results for clients in specific legal areas.
  • Long-Term Client Relationship (Positive): The statement, "He will be my lawyer for years to come. Highly recommended," reflects a strong level of client loyalty and satisfaction from one perspective, implying trust and consistent positive service over time.
  • Lack of Follow-Through and Communication (Negative): A major concern raised in the second review is the perceived "lack of integrity and follow-through" regarding a living will after the mother's passing. This client explicitly states they "never received any communication" from the firm, were "forced to seek alternative legal counsel," and incurred "additional expenses."
  • Rude Communication (Negative): The negative review explicitly mentions Mr. Bonilla being "extremely rude" and hanging up during a call from the beneficiary seeking a copy of the will. This points to significant issues with client service and professional conduct from this client's perspective.
  • Inconsistent Post-Service Support (Negative): The complaint that the firm did not "keep your word" after a client's passing, despite being paid for services like drafting a living will, highlights a critical perceived failure in fulfilling post-mortem obligations.

These divergent experiences underscore the importance for potential clients to conduct thorough due diligence, including clarifying expectations regarding communication, post-service obligations, and overall professional conduct, before engaging with the firm.

As is customary for legal practices, the provided information does not include any specific, time-limited promotions or special offers from David A Bonilla PC. However, law firms often adhere to certain standard practices to make their services accessible to prospective clients. These generally include:

  • Initial Consultations: Many attorneys offer an initial consultation, which may be a free or reduced-fee session. This allows potential clients to discuss their legal needs, understand their options, and determine if the attorney's expertise aligns with their specific case before making a financial commitment. This is particularly valuable for complex and sensitive areas like guardianship, probate, and estate planning.
  • Transparent Fee Structure: While the exact fee structure (e.g., hourly rates, flat fees for specific services, retainer requirements) is not provided, it is always recommended for clients to inquire about and confirm all costs upfront. Given the contrasting feedback on service delivery and perceived follow-through, a clear understanding of the fee structure and what it encompasses, including post-death administration services for estate planning, is crucial.

To ascertain any specific arrangements or details regarding fees for your case, and to schedule an initial consultation, it is always recommended to contact David A Bonilla PC directly.
