Mr Cowell seemed great when I first spoke with him. He had the toughness and understanding, from what I thought. My ex was making my life miserable and we filed for a motion to amend our parenting plan. After the filing of the motion, it was all downhill. The ex kept coming back with new arguments to which Mr Cowell advised me to bend on each and every time. My ex dragged his feet with agreeing and Mr Cowell perpetuated the problem and made zero effort to reach a quick agreement. Mr Cowell would say he was drafting a response to opposing counsel and it would go weeks and sometime months and several request from me before a response was ever drafted. Then I would get a bill when I called and asked for a status update. He doesn’t have a paralegal or secretary working for him and he takes on way more than he can handle. My modification to the parenting plan took over a year when I ended up requesting Mr Cowell to withdrawal. I spent over $25,000 on a simple parenting plan modification and had do most of the work, had to have several repeat conversations with Mr Cowell that he charged me for, and had to inspect each and every bill because he charges for the most ridiculous things. In my opinion , he isn’t very smart and very untrustworthy and is not worth his hourly rate. I had him withdrawn and afterwards talking with the ex’s attorney was much easier and FREE and we were able to get everything completed quickly. Mr Cowell made one of the worse times in my life even worse and took so much money from me that wasn’t warranted. If you want more details on my experience with Mr Cowell feel free to reach out. This attorney has provided me with nothing but disappointing results over a simple divorce case. Strung along for 2.5 years to get zero results and a bill of over $25k. The reviews that are here are accurate of his tactics and behavior. He will continue to bill you and continue your case charging more and more. At this time the case is still going and I had to discharge him due to Fraudulent charges and general misconduct. I have reported him and requested an investigation into his practice. He is the only one that has been rewarded in this case and continues to leverage my case documents as they were never returned. I highly advise against retaining him and or his services.
I hired him to do a quick no contest divorce, which he did. Immediately after the hearing he called to tell me the divorce paperwork was incorrect and would have to be vacated and resubmitted. The mistake was his, yet he tried to bill me for the time and corrections. Additionally, he discussed details of the settlement with my now ex husband, which I think is malpractice. I ended up having to renegotiate the settlement and I lost money. I had to threaten him with having the IARDC take a look at his actions to get him to back off. Use him at your own risk.
Worst experience of my life. Do not hire this man. He is unethical, a liar and does not follow up . You will end up losing all your money and having the worst experience of your life. He works against you not with you. Do Not Hire this attorney. You will regret it forever. His services traumatized me not the actual divorce. I lost most of my money to him and made up fees . Do not wish my experience on No one. Wish I would of read reviews before . Do not make my same mistake. He still owes me services I paid for and he disappeared on me . He was my worst Nightmare and one year later I still have not hear from him after false promises to complete his job after he took most of my money. Horrible individual and careless for everything and everyone but him. Please beware . This men is heartless
He doesn't care about you. Simple as that. He will get nothing for you in your divorce. Just find another lawyer, with a better reputation.
