If I could give a zero it would be too high!! Don’t go to this firm!! Save your time and money, do research and find an attorney that will protect and fight for you! They have taken 30k in fees from my brother and did NOTHING that they said they would do ! Not one thing!! His Ex had a better attorney that took my brothers attorney to school in the court room. It was almost unbelievable that a divorce took 17 months and just monthly draining of my brothers bank account. He got screwed by his ex wife and his attorney as well. It was a complete disaster watching the incompetence. I usually never give reviews, but felt it so necessary to let people that are going through a horrible time in their life to be screwed over by the one person he thought was going to have his back. Not once did he have the skills to demonstrate he understood what the laws clearly state. It’s not 50-50. That’s only if you have an attorney that does something besides running the cash register for the firm. The Bar association needs to shut this place down!!!

I’m speaking on behalf of my husband. Samantha Miller treated him like a pos. My husband spoke with their client care, and gave his concerns to them over his so called lawyer. She didn’t like what my husband had said, feeling like she’s siding with his ex wife, over talking him, and not letting him voice his opinions and concerns. She dropped him, and we have a court date coming up. Thanks for that, but of course she had no problem helping herself to our account right after that. This place isn’t for father’s rights. Or helping men, or family’s. It’s a joke, save your time and money. Don’t come here!

Nebraska Legal Group handled my divorce in 2016. Hired Cordell and Cordell in 2023 because ex wife said I did not pay her my VA disability in an affidavit. In last court date, my ex wife admitted to committing perjury twice in that affidavit and I still lost. My ex wife moved 3 times during my military career vice my 17 times. Bottom line, she got 50% of military pension, 50% of my VA Disability Pay (CRDP) and 100% of my GI Bill. Not bad for her. This is how Nebraska and this country treats their Veterans. God Bless America anyway!

I initially reached out to this firm because they advertised as a father’s rights law office. After retaining a female attorney name Samantha for $2500 I thought I made a great decision, and it would lead me to a positive outcome in my custody case. After a year of fighting for my kids and attempting mediation and $10,000 later, I was financially forced into finding a different attorney because we were making no progress and the charges kept coming. They bill me to this day for over $5000 and they ad interest every time. Extremely greedy law firm that has anything but a fathers rights to his children in mind, but rather their bank account. I retained a new attorney who informed me that for the money I spent with Samantha at Cordell and Cordell, There should have been significant changes in regards to my custody and visitation with my kids and there was none. Samantha had information she chose not to inform me on, so I could attempt things on my own accord to help my case. I can only speak from my encounter with Samantha at that law office, but they charge for every phone call or every email or every piece of information that needs to be communicated to you. They also take advantage of the fact you’re ignorant to the law. If you are a man who has a great case in his favor for custody of his children, reach out to an attorney, who is a man, so he understands where you’re coming from and that’s my first piece of advice. .

DO NOT HIRE AN “ATTORNEY” from this place! I spent 10’s of thousands of dollars and got absolutely nothing for it. My attorney didn’t seem interested in winning anything, she was only concerned about how much money she could make off of me. Do yourself a favor and find another firm to represent you, especially if you are a father that wants to be involved in your children’s lives.

About Cordell & Cordell - Divorce Attorney Office
Cordell & Cordell - Divorce Attorney Office, located at 13340 California St #200, Omaha, NE 68154, USA, operates within the 'Nearby Lawyers' platform category, specifically dedicating its services to divorce and family law, with a strong focus on representing men. The firm's contact number is consistently provided as (402) 501-9800, emphasizing accessibility for potential clients.
Cordell & Cordell is a national law firm with numerous offices across the United States, positioning itself as a leading authority in family law, particularly for male clients. Their Omaha office, situated in a professional building on California Street, suggests a standard corporate environment typical of large legal practices. While specific details of the Omaha office's interior ambiance are not extensively detailed online, the firm's overall branding and presence across many states indicate a standardized, professional setting designed to handle complex legal proceedings. This environment is likely equipped with the necessary infrastructure for extensive legal research, client meetings, and trial preparation, supporting a high volume of cases.
The core services offered by Cordell & Cordell are exclusively focused on domestic litigation. Their practice areas include:
- P>Divorce: Providing comprehensive legal representation for men going through the divorce process, covering aspects such as property division, spousal support (alimony), and legal separation.
- P>Child Custody: Advocating for fathers' rights in custody disputes, aiming to secure favorable parenting plans and ensure their continued involvement in their children's lives.

- P>Modifications and Enforcement: Addressing post-judgment issues, such as modifying existing divorce or custody orders and enforcing agreements.
- P>Domestic Violence: Offering representation in cases involving domestic violence allegations, which can significantly impact divorce and custody outcomes.
A prominent feature of Cordell & Cordell is its explicit mission to represent men in divorce and family law matters. Founded in 1990 by Joseph E. Cordell and his wife, Yvonne, the firm's focus emerged from recognizing a perceived need to "level the playing field" for men in family court. They aim to challenge stereotypes and advocate relentlessly for their male clients' financial and parental interests. This specialized focus is a key differentiator, as it suggests a deep understanding of the unique challenges and biases men might face in divorce proceedings.
Cordell & Cordell also emphasizes a "client-centered culture." They state that they have implemented various services, including "Practice Quality," "Client Care," and "Account Care," to ensure high-quality service and treat clients with respect. They also mention that clients can reach out to a "Client Care Representative" if concerns arise, and that the firm continuously reviews its employees and legal processes through its Quality Control Process. The firm promotes transparency regarding costs, though it notes that predicting the exact cost of a divorce is challenging due to the variable nature of cases.
Promotional information from Cordell & Cordell often highlights their extensive experience, stating they have been in business for over 35 years and have served more than 250,000 clients nationwide. They position themselves as a firm committed to "relentlessly advocating for the rights of individuals and parents involved in divorce or family law matters." They also provide numerous online resources, including articles and podcasts, to help clients navigate the complexities of divorce, demonstrating a commitment to educating their target demographic.
However, it is important to provide an objective introduction by also acknowledging the varied client experiences. The provided customer reviews for the Omaha office present a stark contrast to the firm's stated mission and promotional claims. One review expresses extreme dissatisfaction, alleging that the firm took "$30k in fees...and did NOTHING that they said they would do." This client describes the process as a "complete disaster," citing incompetence and a lack of advocacy, and questions the attorney's understanding of the law. The reviewer also suggests that the firm is more interested in "running the cash register" than genuinely fighting for clients, even recommending that the Bar association "shut this place down."
A second review, speaking on behalf of a husband, details a highly negative experience with attorney Samantha Miller, stating she "treated him like a pos." This reviewer claims the attorney sided with the ex-wife, frequently over-talked the husband, and dropped him right before a court date, while still billing the account. This review directly challenges the firm's stated focus on "father's rights" and "helping men," concluding that the place "isn’t for father’s rights. Or helping men, or family’s. It’s a joke, save your time and money. Don’t come here!"
These critical reviews highlight significant concerns regarding client advocacy, billing practices, and communication effectiveness, which are crucial aspects of legal service. While Cordell & Cordell's overall reputation nationally includes many positive testimonials on their own promotional sites, these specific Omaha reviews indicate potential inconsistencies in client experience at this particular location. It is essential for potential clients to conduct thorough research, including reviewing a wide range of feedback and directly consulting with the firm to assess their suitability for their specific legal needs.
In conclusion, Cordell & Cordell - Divorce Attorney Office in Omaha, NE, is a specialized law firm focusing on divorce and family law, particularly for men. Their services aim to address various aspects of domestic litigation, with a stated commitment to advocating for fathers' rights and providing a client-centered approach. While the firm's national presence and promotional materials emphasize their expertise and support systems, the specific local reviews available raise significant questions about the consistency of their service delivery and client satisfaction at this Omaha location. Prospective clients should consider these diverse perspectives when evaluating Cordell & Cordell for their legal representation needs.
