Cooper Family Law, LLC | Divorce, Custody, Mediation & More Introduce

Cooper Family Law, LLC, operating under the name "Divorce, Custody, Mediation & More," is situated in Philadelphia at 1500 John F Kennedy Blvd, Suite 220. As a listed entity in the "Nearby Lawyers" category, the firm indicates a focus on family law matters, including divorce, child custody, and mediation services, catering to the needs of individuals and families in the Philadelphia area. The firm's stated services, "Divorce, Custody, Mediation & More," imply a comprehensive approach to family law. Divorce cases often involve complex legal and emotional considerations, including property division, alimony, and spousal support. Child custody disputes can be particularly sensitive, requiring careful navigation of legal frameworks and a focus on the best interests of the children involved. Mediation offers an alternative dispute resolution method where a neutral third party facilitates communication and negotiation between parties to reach a mutually agreeable settlement. The "More" suggests that the firm may handle other related family law matters as well.

Prospective clients in Philadelphia seeking assistance with divorce, child custody, mediation, or other family law issues can contact Cooper Family Law, LLC at the provided phone numbers: (215) 814-0395 or +1 215-814-0395. These contact methods offer a direct way to inquire about the firm's services, schedule consultations, and gather more information about how they can assist with specific legal needs within the realm of family law.

However, it is crucial to consider the publicly available customer reviews when evaluating Cooper Family Law, LLC. Several reviews detail significantly negative experiences with attorney Carol Krawitz Verlin, specifically regarding communication, responsiveness, and the progression of divorce cases. These reviews raise serious concerns about the level of client service and the efficiency of case management experienced by some individuals.

One reviewer described an "extremely disappointing experience" citing "absolutely terrible" communication, including a lack of proactive updates on important documents and difficulty in reaching the attorney. This client reported having to frequently initiate contact for updates, adding frustration to an already stressful divorce process. The reviewer ultimately switched lawyers due to the perceived lack of responsiveness and transparency, incurring additional hassle and expense.

Furthermore, the same reviewer alleged that the firm offered a refund in exchange for deleting or altering the negative review, suggesting a potential concern about public perception of their service. This allegation, if accurate, could further impact a prospective client's assessment of the firm's integrity and commitment to addressing client concerns transparently.

Another review echoed similar issues with communication and case progression. This client, who hired Carol Krawitz Verlin in 2022 for a divorce case, reported spending over $5,000 and still not being divorced nearly three years later, despite being separated since 2020. The client stated that despite repeated requests for legal action, the case remained idle for over a year, eventually leading to the ex-spouse contesting the divorce due to the lack of progress. This client also described poor communication, making it difficult to obtain straight answers or meaningful updates, and ultimately hired a new lawyer who made significant progress in under two months.

These detailed negative reviews highlight critical areas of concern, particularly regarding communication, proactive case management, and the timely resolution of legal matters. While online reviews should always be considered as one aspect of due diligence, the consistency and specificity of these negative experiences warrant careful consideration by potential clients.

Given the serious nature of the allegations in the reviews, it is essential for individuals considering Cooper Family Law, LLC to conduct thorough due diligence. This should include directly contacting the firm to discuss their specific case, inquiring about the attorneys' experience and communication practices, and potentially seeking additional references or reviews from other sources to gain a more comprehensive understanding of the firm's client service and case management approach.

While the firm's stated services cover essential areas of family law like divorce, custody, and mediation, the reported experiences of past clients, particularly concerning communication and case progression, cannot be ignored. These accounts suggest potential challenges in these critical aspects of legal representation.

Promotional information is not explicitly provided beyond the firm's name and listed services. Typically, law firms may offer initial consultations or highlight their expertise and successful outcomes. However, in light of the significant negative feedback regarding client service, prospective clients should exercise caution and prioritize direct communication and thorough vetting before engaging Cooper Family Law, LLC.

In conclusion, Cooper Family Law, LLC, located in Philadelphia, offers services in divorce, custody, mediation, and other family law matters. While their stated areas of practice align with the needs of many individuals seeking "Nearby Lawyers" for family law issues, the publicly available customer reviews raise significant concerns about communication, responsiveness, and case management, particularly in divorce cases handled by attorney Carol Krawitz Verlin. Prospective clients are strongly advised to conduct thorough due diligence and consider these reviews carefully before making a decision about legal representation.

I had an extremely disappointing experience with Carol Krawitz Verlin during my divorce. Communication was absolutely terrible—she received important documents without promptly updating me, I was often the one reaching out to get updates, making an already stressful process even more frustrating. She was incredibly difficult to reach, and despite having retained her services, she went two full weeks without contacting me until I reached out first. Given how critical responsiveness and transparency are in legal matters, this was unacceptable. I ultimately had to switch lawyers, which was an added hassle and expense. If you’re looking for an attorney who will keep you informed and advocate for you efficiently, I strongly recommend going with another firm—or at the very least, someone else within this one. Save yourself the trouble. EDIT: They have offered to give me my money back in exchange for deleting this review or changing it to 5 stars. Clearly they don't want the truth about the service they provide to get out. Avoid at all cost and find yourself a better law firm. I continue to find out information from my new lawyer that the previous one failed to communicate. They replied with some generic information but I have proof where weeks went by without me getting reached out or updated about new documents. Please avoid these people and take care of yourselves. You do not want lawyers who don’t care and don’t prioritize you, specially during a tough and crucial moment in your life.

I hired Carol Krawitz Verlin at Cooper Family Law, LLC in 2022 to handle my divorce and spent over $5,000, but nearly three years later, I’m still not divorced — even though my ex and I have been separated since 2020. My ex was served in October 2022 and didn’t have a lawyer at the time. From the start, I made it clear that she would not willingly sign the divorce papers and that I wanted the case to move forward through the courts. On every phone call, I pleaded with Carol to take legal action — and all I got in return was legal jargon and explanations, but nothing I asked for was actually being done. The case sat idle. Eventually, my ex contested the divorce — only because over a year had passed without action from my attorney. That could’ve been avoided if Carol had followed through. Communication was also very poor. Getting straight answers or meaningful updates felt impossible. Now it’s 2025, we’ve been separated for five years, and the divorce still isn’t finalized. I’ve since hired a new lawyer, and in under two months, they’ve made more progress than Cooper Family Law did in almost three years. I chose this firm based on great online reviews, but my experience was expensive, frustrating, and completely disappointing. I would not recommend them to anyone.

I had an extremely great experience with Zachary Bartman! I can’t thank him enough for the help he provided me with during an incredibly difficult time. I contacted the bar association, and he reached out to me first within that same day. He took the time to listen to me and assess the situation. Although it took time to detain him due to unfortunate events. That initial contact from him stuck with me! He led with confidence, empathy and compassion. I felt safe, heard, understood and supported all in a short phone call. When I was ready to start my legal journey; I called him back and he and his assistant Anna (I believe) met me with so much patience and grace. My custody and Divorce matter was a challenging situation, but he made it manageable and provided me with a phenomenal level of professionalism and understanding that made me feel ready, empowered and reassured. I was overwhelmed emotionally, and I have been bullied for years and tried to avoid the courts. I needed counsel at this point; I wanted fairness and what was best for my children. He walked me through the entire process before it happened; we talked, I cried, he listened to my story sincerely, we laughed at my thoughts/ jokes lol I felt supported the entire way! He made me proud the way he stepped up and handled the room. I will highly recommend Mr. Bartman to anyone in need of one of the best Divorce & custody lawyers! Cooper Family Law, you have a gem! Thank you!

Carol Krawitz has been nothing short of amazing. This has been the most difficult time of my life; however, Carol has made this transition for me as smooth as possible. She has displayed a great understanding of family law, which has helped me through my custody issues. Although my journey isn't over, I'm happy with the results that I have achieved with Carol Krawitz leading the process.

Zachary helped me through my case. I truly believe it was because of him that I won. He listened to my story and he made sure the truth was heard in trial. He fostered confidence in me during a very anxious time. He was professional, polite, and understood his job very well. He walked me through the entire process before it happened and provided reassurance throughout. I'd recommend him to anyone I know.
