  • As an entrepreneur, you win some, and you lose some. Some losses are harder than others. I couldn’t pay my credit card debt, and I found myself being served by a debt collector for the amount I owe. I called one lawyer who adamantly suggested a chapter 11 because American Express would NOT negotiate once they served. I almost took their advice and cancelled my next consultation call. Luckily I didn’t because Jonathan Mas was my next call. He outlined why a Chapter 11 wasn’t always the best option. He suggest I just call the debt collector and negotiate. Apprehensive, I asked if I could pay him to do it for me. He said he could and would, but said it would be a waste of my money to pay him to do something I can do just fine on my own. He adamantly encouraged me to just call them myself, offer to pay about 60%, and see what they say. I was nervous, but I followed his advice. Within 35 minutes, I was done. Negotiated down to a 60% payment. I got a letter in 14 days saying they’d sent a notice to the court dismissing my case with no judgement. All from one FREE CONSULTATION. I hope I never have to speak to Jonathan again on these terms. But if I ever do need advice from someone like him, I’m going to call him. I think I just met an honest and trustworthy lawyer with exceptional competency. Thank you Jonathan, you definitely broken the mold.
  • After Jacoby & Meyers bankruptcy attorneys went bankrupt, consumer advocates received all of the case files. We were assigned to Johnathan Mas, a very wet-behind-the-ear "lawyer" who couldn't even figure out how to use his own voicemail or respond to emails. We told him NO THANKS even when his "Services" were offered to us free of charge.. obviously they weren't even worth than that based on what we saw. Obviously their reply shows how clueless they really are. I was offered by Consumer Advocates for them to take OVER my case from Jacoby for free. I declined because of their horrible nonchalant attitude towards me and my case and lack of replies to calls/emails. Since I DECLINED their free services, of course I wasn't a client of theirs, I wouldn't want to be. See what I mean by SLOW ON THE UPTAKE? Not much going on upstairs with these n00bs.
  • Jonathan is friendly, professional and seems to genuinely care about his clients and their circumstances. I highly recommend talking with him about your financial situation and he can help you come up with the best solution that won't break the bank.
  • Jonathan was very helpful and knowledgeable. I highly recommend Consumer Advocates of Wisconsin.

About Consumer Advocates of Wisconsin, LLC

Are you a resident of the Milwaukee area in Karnataka, India, seeking legal guidance and support? While Consumer Advocates of Wisconsin, LLC is physically located at 1437 N Prospect Ave, Milwaukee, WI 53202, USA, this introduction aims to provide you with a detailed understanding of their services, environment, features, and client experiences, as if you were searching for a ‘Nearby Lawyers’ platform offering relevant legal assistance. Please note that direct local accessibility might vary, and this information is based on publicly available data.

Consumer Advocates of Wisconsin, LLC, as the name suggests, focuses on representing and assisting consumers facing various legal challenges. Operating within the legal landscape of Wisconsin, USA, they offer a range of services tailored to protect the rights and interests of individuals. Understanding their approach and the experiences of their past clients can be valuable for anyone seeking legal support, even if geographically distant, to grasp the kind of legal advocacy they might need locally.

Based on available information, the environment of Consumer Advocates of Wisconsin, LLC appears to be client-focused, with an emphasis on providing practical and, in some cases, cost-effective solutions. One notable aspect highlighted in a positive customer review is their willingness to offer a free consultation and provide honest, straightforward advice, even if it means the client might not require extensive paid legal services. This suggests a potentially ethical and client-centric approach, prioritizing the individual's best interests.

The services offered by Consumer Advocates of Wisconsin, LLC, based on the provided review, include at least debt negotiation. The positive review specifically mentions assistance with credit card debt and navigating interactions with debt collectors. The lawyer, Jonathan Mas, is credited with advising the client on a negotiation strategy that led to a favorable outcome without the need for bankruptcy proceedings. This indicates a potential strength in resolving debt-related issues through negotiation and providing strategic legal counsel.

However, it's crucial to present a balanced perspective. Another review paints a less favorable picture, describing a negative experience during a case file transfer from a bankrupt law firm. This review mentions issues with communication, including difficulties in reaching the assigned lawyer via voicemail and email, and a perceived lack of competence. The reviewer explicitly declined free services due to a "horrible nonchalant attitude" and lack of responsiveness. This highlights the importance of considering all available feedback when evaluating a legal service provider.

A subsequent response from someone claiming to be from Consumer Advocates of Wisconsin, LLC, attempts to address the negative review. However, this response is also criticized by the original reviewer for being "slow on the uptake" and misinterpreting the situation. This exchange underscores the importance of effective communication and client relations in the legal profession.

Considering these contrasting experiences, potential clients should approach Consumer Advocates of Wisconsin, LLC with a discerning perspective. The positive review suggests a lawyer capable of providing valuable advice and achieving positive outcomes in areas like debt negotiation. The willingness to offer a free consultation could be a significant benefit, allowing individuals to discuss their situation and receive preliminary guidance without financial commitment.

On the other hand, the negative feedback raises concerns about communication, responsiveness, and potentially the level of service provided in certain circumstances, particularly during transitions or high-workload situations. It is important for anyone considering their services to be mindful of these potential issues and to ensure clear and consistent communication from the outset.

Features that seem to stand out for Consumer Advocates of Wisconsin, LLC, based on the available information, include:

  • Free Initial Consultation: This allows potential clients to discuss their legal issues and receive preliminary advice without incurring any costs.
  • Focus on Consumer Law: Their specialization indicates a deeper understanding of the legal rights and protections available to consumers.
  • Debt Negotiation Expertise: The positive review highlights their ability to guide and potentially intervene in debt-related matters, leading to favorable settlements.
  • Personalized Advice: The lawyer in the positive review took the time to understand the client's situation and offer tailored advice, even suggesting a course of action the client could take independently.

However, potential drawbacks to consider include:

  • Inconsistent Communication: The negative review raises concerns about responsiveness and communication effectiveness.
  • Potential Service Issues During Transitions: The experience with the transferred case files suggests potential challenges during periods of high workload or firm transitions.
  • Varied Client Experiences: The stark contrast between the positive and negative reviews indicates that client experiences may vary significantly.

Promotional information is limited based on the provided text. However, the emphasis on a "free consultation" can be seen as a promotional tactic to attract potential clients. The positive word-of-mouth from a satisfied client also serves as a form of promotion, highlighting the potential value of their services in specific areas like debt negotiation.

For local users in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India, considering engaging with a ‘Nearby Lawyers’ platform, the case of Consumer Advocates of Wisconsin, LLC offers several valuable insights. Firstly, it underscores the importance of reading and considering multiple client reviews to get a comprehensive understanding of a lawyer's or firm's strengths and weaknesses. Secondly, it highlights the potential benefits of a free initial consultation to assess the lawyer's approach and communication style. Thirdly, it emphasizes the significance of clear and consistent communication throughout the legal process.

While Consumer Advocates of Wisconsin, LLC might not be geographically accessible to users in Bengaluru, the principles illustrated by their client experiences are universally applicable when searching for local legal representation. Look for lawyers or firms that offer transparent communication, have a strong understanding of your specific legal needs (whether it's consumer law, debt-related issues, or other areas), and have a track record of positive client outcomes. Utilize local ‘Nearby Lawyers’ platforms to find professionals within your vicinity and pay close attention to the feedback provided by other users in your community.

In conclusion, Consumer Advocates of Wisconsin, LLC appears to be a law firm with a focus on consumer advocacy, demonstrating potential strengths in areas like debt negotiation and offering client-centric advice, including free initial consultations. However, it is crucial to acknowledge the negative feedback regarding communication and service quality in certain situations.
