When selecting a legal representative, it is crucial to consider their professional environment, the scope of their services, their key features, and client experiences. Based on the available information, which includes contact details and contrasting client feedback, we present a detailed introduction to Cipriano Law Offices, P.C.

While specific details about the physical environment of Cipriano Law Offices, P.C.'s office at the Fairfield Avenue address are not extensively described online, its location in a suite within a commercial building suggests a professional setting for conducting legal consultations and work. Fairfield Avenue in West Caldwell is a known area for businesses and professional services, likely providing an accessible and private atmosphere for client meetings. The suite numbers, 4C/D, indicate a specific office space within the building, suggesting designated areas for client interaction and legal operations.

The client reviews provide insights into the firm's areas of practice, with a notable focus on family law. One reviewer explicitly sought their services for a "family attorney," indicating that Cipriano Law Offices, P.C. handles cases related to family law. This can encompass a range of issues such as divorce, child custody and support, alimony, adoption, domestic violence, and other related legal matters. The contrasting experiences shared by the reviewers, however, make it challenging to definitively assess the quality and consistency of their services across all cases. Potential clients should inquire specifically about the firm's experience in handling cases similar to their own.

The features of Cipriano Law Offices, P.C. are portrayed differently in the two provided client reviews. One reviewer expresses extreme dissatisfaction, citing issues such as prolonged case duration leading to increased legal bills, lack of communication and updates, missed important emails, unpreparedness for court, and instances of accidentally sending confidential information meant for other clients, including sensitive content. This review paints a picture of unprofessionalism and poor client management. The specific mention of attorneys Bart Lombardo (who was subsequently fired by the client) and the owner Melissa suggests that the issues experienced were not isolated to a single individual within the firm. The other review presents a starkly contrasting perspective, highlighting the exceptional client care provided by attorney Karen Willitts. This reviewer praises her attentiveness, the time she took to listen to concerns, and the feeling that their case truly mattered to her. This positive feedback suggests that the firm may have individual attorneys who provide excellent service and care. The efficiency and professionalism of other attorneys or staff members are not mentioned in either review.

The conflicting nature of the client reviews makes it difficult to provide straightforward promotional information. The negative review serves as a significant caution, detailing multiple serious issues that potential clients should be aware of. These include concerns about billing practices, communication, case management, and professional conduct. On the other hand, the positive review for attorney Karen Willitts acts as a strong endorsement of her client care and the positive impact she had on her client's case. This suggests that the quality of service may vary depending on the specific attorney within the firm. Therefore, any promotional consideration should be balanced against the serious allegations raised in the negative review. Potential clients should carefully weigh these contrasting experiences and consider them as part of their decision-making process.

For local users in West Caldwell seeking a "Nearby Lawyer" for family law matters, Cipriano Law Offices, P.C., located on Fairfield Avenue, is an available option. However, the drastically different experiences reported by the two clients necessitate careful consideration. While one client praises the exceptional care provided by attorney Karen Willitts, another details a highly negative experience with other attorneys (Bart Lombardo and Melissa), citing significant issues with professionalism, communication, case management, and billing. This divergence in feedback underscores the importance of conducting thorough due diligence before engaging their services. Potential clients should consider both positive and negative feedback and inquire specifically about the attorney who would be handling their case.

Absolute worst. Wish I could give them zero stars. I've used Bart Lombardo who was so bad I fired him and then used the owner Melissa who was just as bad. They dragged everything out for years to generate more legal bills. Could never get updates, they missed important emails from the opposing attorney, wasn't prepared for court, the list goes on and on. Melissa even accidently sent me emails meant for other clients MULTIPLE times. One of the emails had sensitive information with a disturbing video attached. I couldn't believe how unprofessional this office was. Biggest waste of money I've ever spent and I encourage anyone who is looking for a family attorney to look elsewhere.

Cipriano Law goes above and beyond the rest when comes to client care. My attorney, Karen Willitts, took time to listen to my concerns. Her support made us feel as though our case truly mattered to her. I cannot thank Cipriano Law for everything have done for my family and me.

I had an extremely disappointing experience with this law firm. Despite paying for months of legal services, I saw little to no progress in my divorce case. This firm was recommended to me, but based on my experience, I do not understand why. Communication was slow and unhelpful. When I asked questions about my case, I was often met with condescending or dismissive responses. The attorneys and staff did not demonstrate the level of professionalism or urgency I expected from a family law firm handling such an emotional and important process. For over six months, I worked with one attorney, but no motions were filed—just back-and-forth correspondence with my adversary that led nowhere. When I attempted to take initiative and research aspects of my case, I was criticized rather than supported. Scheduling an appointment was unnecessarily difficult, as availability was rarely provided upfront, yet I was still charged for every email related to coordinating a meeting. The passive-aggressive responses, such as questioning why I was concerned about certain issues in my own case, made me feel disregarded and unheard. After I terminated their services, it took a full week for the firm to respond and over two and a half weeks for my retainer refund to be processed, with the explanation that it was delayed due to unavailability to sign the check—something that could have easily been handled electronically. When I received my case file, it contained only the documents I had originally provided, indicating that little to no additional work had been done on my behalf. I also noticed a pattern with online reviews. Whenever a negative review is posted, a series of glowing five-star reviews appear shortly after. Many of these reviews lack details about specific services provided, making it difficult to gauge their authenticity. This pattern is also evident on Yelp. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this law firm. If you are considering their services, I strongly encourage you to do thorough research before making a decision. The way I was treated throughout this process was unacceptable, and I believe that their practices raise ethical concerns regarding client care and legal responsibility.

Had a free consultation looking to hire. And went down the drain because some lady Michelle or Melissa , I can’t remember because she didn’t even introduce herself correctly, was extremely rude and condescending from the beginning. She kept going around and repeating how she was confused about a simple out of state CS order. something I explained 4 times and she kept not understanding and being condescending like if I was trying to lie to her. She obviously wasn’t my first choice someone recommended me because she runs a different jurisdiction. But I wouldn’t even recommend her to anyone! Unless you want to deal with unprofessional and unethical behavior be my guest! Let’s not mention she also insulted me financially and told me to go to legal aid after I told her I’ll do this myself since she’s so confused 😂 Yeah maybe they’re going to be better at this than you since you OBVIOUSLY didn’t understand me for 30 mins straight. 0/10 DO NOT RECOMMEND.

Melissa is efficient & knowledgeable & when an urgent legal matter arises she will fight for you. She has been very helpful with some extremely complicated family court issues. It helps when your attorney can keep it simple, even when you feel overwhelmed. Melissa knows the law very well & is an amazing attorney. Don’t hesitate to call her.
