Cavin Law Introduce

Welcome to the platform for Nearby Lawyers, your local resource for connecting with legal professionals. We are presenting information for Cavin Law, an attorney with an office located in Fresno, California, at 790 W Shaw Ave. For individuals in the Fresno area seeking legal assistance, Cavin Law can be reached at phone number (559) 226-5298 or the mobile number +1 559-226-5298.

Based on the available information, which includes the attorney's name, contact phone numbers, office address, and two contrasting client reviews, it is important to consider both perspectives when evaluating Cavin Law's services. One review offers a highly critical account of the client's experience, while the other provides a very positive assessment.

The negative review details several significant concerns. The client reports being charged for every communication, including brief conversations, texts, and emails, even those of a personal nature involving the attorney's health. The free consultation is stated to be limited to half an hour, after which billing commences. The client also alleges difficulties in contacting the attorney, with instances of unanswered calls, mail, and emails for extended periods, even as court dates approached. This lack of communication is portrayed as particularly problematic in sensitive situations, such as custody matters requiring the filing of timely paperwork.

Furthermore, the negative review includes an accusation that the attorney intentionally prolonged legal proceedings, specifically requesting an additional hearing against the client's wishes, purportedly leading to increased legal fees that benefited the attorney. The client also expresses a belief that Mr. Cavin is not well-regarded by most judges, suggesting a potential negative impact on case outcomes. Additionally, the review criticizes the attorney's public speaking abilities and preparedness in court, citing an instance where he was allegedly unable to summarize the client's requests to the judge. Finally, the client advises potential future clients to meticulously track all communications and charges to avoid potential overbilling, based on their experience of receiving bills with previously paid charges.

In stark contrast, the positive review describes Mr. Cavin as a "fantastic attorney," who is "very understanding and kind" but also a "barracuda in the courtroom." This client highly recommends Mr. Cavin, suggesting a strong and effective legal advocate who combines empathy with courtroom prowess. This perspective paints a picture of an attorney who is both supportive of his clients and formidable in his legal representation.

Given these two diametrically opposed reviews, it is challenging to definitively describe the typical environment or features of Cavin Law's practice. The negative review suggests a potentially transactional environment where all communication is billed, and responsiveness might be inconsistent. It also hints at a possible lack of preparedness and strained relationships with the judiciary. On the other hand, the positive review implies a supportive and effective legal environment, particularly within the courtroom setting.

The services offered by Cavin Law are not explicitly stated, but the context of the negative review, which mentions court hearings and custody matters, suggests that the practice handles litigation, potentially including family law. The positive review's reference to being a "barracuda in the courtroom" further supports the idea of litigation services. However, without more specific information, the full scope of Cavin Law's legal services remains unclear.

In terms of features, the negative review highlights a strict billing practice for all communications and potential issues with responsiveness and court demeanor. The positive review, however, suggests strengths in courtroom advocacy and a combination of understanding and assertiveness. These conflicting accounts make it difficult to identify definitive features of the practice.

The two provided reviews offer contrasting "promotional" information, albeit one is highly negative and serves as a cautionary tale. The positive review acts as a strong endorsement, using terms like "fantastic" and "highly recommended." In contrast, the negative review explicitly advises potential clients to "look him up before you hire him," suggesting that further investigation is warranted due to the serious allegations raised.

For local users in Fresno seeking legal representation, contacting Cavin Law at (559) 226-5298 or +1 559-226-5298 would be the first step to inquire about the specific legal services offered and to potentially discuss their individual needs. However, it is strongly advised that potential clients carefully consider the significant concerns raised in the negative review alongside the positive feedback. Conducting further research, seeking additional reviews or references if available, and having a detailed discussion about billing practices, communication protocols, and the attorney's approach to their specific type of case would be prudent before making a hiring decision.

The office address at 790 W Shaw Ave in Fresno places Cavin Law in a commercial area of the city. However, no further details about the office environment or accessibility are provided in the given information.

In conclusion, Cavin Law in Fresno, California, offers legal services, potentially including litigation and family law. Two contrasting client reviews provide significantly different perspectives on the attorney's professionalism, billing practices, communication, and courtroom demeanor. Local users considering engaging Cavin Law should carefully weigh this feedback and conduct thorough due diligence, including direct inquiry about their specific legal needs and the firm's practices, before making a decision.

Mr Cavin advertises himself as being well known by court staff and he is right, everybody knows him. For more information look him up before you hire him. I didn’t. As a lawyer, this is my experience - he charged me for every little conversation we had. Even the free consultation is only for half an hour, after that clock is running. If you text or email you get charged, inclu for all personal conversations about his health. What you pay for retainer is nothing compare to what comes after - sometimes he will not answer phone calls, mail, email for weeks. Court date would approach and he would be no where to find. Imagine if you have something important coming up, like for example the custody of your child and you need to file papers but you can get a hold of your lawyer. His wife is the office assistant/manager and they both get sick together ( that’s what I been told once) and don’t answer any of their phones -he purposely asked the court that we come back for another hearing after I asked him not too. I was ok with what the court ordered. He told me that he is the lawyer and I can’t tell him what to do. But by coming to court again I had to pay him a big lump of money so it benefited him. - most judges don’t like him. So if the judge doesn’t like your lawyer think of how your case may turn out. -he is not a great public speaker and worse he did not come prepared. When judge asked him to summarize what we asked he was not able to do so. - I just got another bill from him and realized that there were charges in there that I paid long time ago. I never kept track of things. So if you decide to go at him, keep track of times you talk and charges in the bill to make sure you are not overcharged. This is my experience with Mr Cavin

This is a horrible office. No one answers the phone. Every time I call, it just rings and rings. What's the point of having a office. There's no way to leave a message either.
