  • This hotel was amazing. They had really good staff and the rooms were beautiful. I also really loved the pressure in the showers. The lobby is just gorgeous with a beautiful ceiling view. I really recommend this hotel if you are looking for somewhere to stay in LA.
  • WARNING !!! To anyone who appeals their criminals case through this so called 'project'. The owner is for profit and his name is attorney # 73556 Richard Lennon. If you were arraigned and didn't say a word and never asked for a public defender (or in fact you were not there), that may be ILLEGAL and Unconstitutional. Richard aka Rick told me every public defender is doing it and it's called 'drive thru arraignments'. Don't believe me? Google penal code 987.Richard lost my case on purpose so my news story would never make it out. My hope is for everyone to view this review BEFORE contacting this project. This is now the 2nd loss the project created for me. Now IRS.
  • Not very helpful the person On the phone seem to be impatient and responded in a way as if she was irritated with my inquiries.

About California Appellate Project

For individuals in the Los Angeles area seeking legal assistance with criminal appeals, the California Appellate Project, located at 520 S Grand Ave UNIT 400, Los Angeles, CA 90071, USA, is an organization that may be relevant. As a potential resource within the "Nearby Lawyers" category, the California Appellate Project is situated in downtown Los Angeles and can be contacted at (213) 243-0300 or via mobile at +1 213-243-0300.

Located on South Grand Avenue, Suite 400, in downtown Los Angeles, the California Appellate Project is positioned within a central and accessible area of the city. The environment of an office suite in this location likely provides a professional setting for the organization's operations. Given its name, the California Appellate Project is likely involved in providing legal assistance to individuals pursuing appeals in criminal cases within California. The accessibility of the downtown location may be beneficial for individuals and attorneys seeking their services from various parts of the greater Los Angeles area.

The available customer reviews present a stark contrast and appear to be misattributed or reflect different types of services. One review describes a positive experience at a hotel, praising the staff, rooms, shower pressure, and lobby aesthetics. This review is clearly unrelated to legal services and should be disregarded in the context of the California Appellate Project. It is important to note this discrepancy as it highlights the challenges of relying solely on online reviews without verifying their relevance.

The second review offers a significantly negative perspective, purportedly from an individual who appealed their criminal case through this "so called 'project'." The reviewer issues a warning to others considering using their services. They allege that the "owner," identified as attorney Richard Lennon, operates for profit. The reviewer raises serious concerns about the legality and constitutionality of their arraignment process, claiming they were arraigned without speaking or requesting a public defender (or even being present). They further allege that Richard Lennon stated that "every public defender is doing it" and referred to it as "drive thru arraignments," urging readers to research penal code 987. The reviewer also claims that Richard Lennon intentionally lost their case to suppress their news story and that this was their second negative experience with the project, now involving the IRS.

This highly critical review raises serious allegations that potential users should carefully consider. It is essential to approach such claims with caution and to seek corroborating information from other sources if considering engaging with the California Appellate Project. The review's strong negative tone and specific accusations warrant thorough due diligence.

Given the conflicting and potentially misattributed nature of the reviews, it is challenging to provide an objective assessment of the environment, services, and features of the California Appellate Project based solely on this information. The name itself strongly suggests a focus on appellate work in criminal cases. This typically involves reviewing trial court proceedings for errors of law or fact that may warrant a reversal or modification of a conviction or sentence. Appellate lawyers often prepare legal briefs, present oral arguments before appellate courts, and advise clients on the merits of an appeal.

The services likely offered by the California Appellate Project would therefore be centered around the appellate process in criminal law. This could include evaluating potential grounds for appeal, assisting with the filing of appellate briefs, representing clients in appellate court hearings, and potentially providing guidance on post-conviction remedies. However, the negative review raises concerns about the quality and intent of these services in at least one instance.

Features of the California Appellate Project, based on its nature as a "project" and the allegations in the negative review, are difficult to ascertain objectively. The term "project" might suggest a non-profit or publicly funded initiative, but the reviewer claims it is "for profit" and identifies an attorney as the "owner." This discrepancy highlights the need for further clarification about the organization's structure and funding.

Promotional information is not explicitly provided. The negative review, in fact, serves as a strong warning against using their services, based on one individual's experience. Potential users should be aware of this critical feedback and conduct their own thorough investigation before making any decisions.

As a listing in the "Nearby Lawyers" category, the California Appellate Project is geographically accessible to individuals in Los Angeles seeking assistance with criminal appeals. However, the serious allegations raised in the negative review necessitate extreme caution. It is crucial for anyone considering their services to seek additional information, possibly from independent sources or by consulting with other legal professionals, to gain a more balanced perspective.

In conclusion, the California Appellate Project, located in downtown Los Angeles, appears to be involved in criminal appellate work. However, the provided reviews offer drastically different perspectives, with one being irrelevant and the other containing serious allegations of misconduct and ineffectiveness. Potential users should be highly cautious and conduct thorough independent research before considering engaging their services. Contacting the organization directly at (213) 243-0300 may provide some information, but it is advisable to seek additional verification and consider alternative legal resources for criminal appeals in the Los Angeles area.
