My husband and I are "mom & pop" landlords with several rental properties in the area. As the law has become more confusing and complex, I was seeking an attorney who could answer my many questions. I reached out to nearly a dozen firms in the area and was refused. Apparently I was not their "preferred clientele and too small." I met with Pat Finn for an hour consultation and it was worth every cent. He was professional, courteous, empathetic, and most importantly showed me respect. He took the time to explain to me how I could improve my lease agreements and where to find forms necessary to better prepare for certain circumstances. Pat provided exact form names, other references and resources that could help. He even detailed what steps to take in hypothetical situations and specific verbiage to write. He made me feel more confident about being a landlord as I have often second-guessed this avenue for our retirement plan. Nice to know there is a lawyer out there who has a heart.

Pat Finn is a either avoidant or lying. He has a facade and respects certain people, but refused to answer my questions about 8 minimum housing standard codes that Elmsley Grove Apartment failed, and that’s not including mold, or a non working oven. He stayed he’s not answering “legal questions because I’m not a lawyer.” Well I’m also a single black woman, and I’m not sure what anyones occupation has to do with answering a question, which were a few including, are the men that are coming to make repairs qualified to do so, and did you speak to the inspector. So, apparently, since I don’t work a certain type of job, I don’t deserve decency and respect. I am also a single black woman, so I’m not sure if that’s also why he doesn’t feel the need to answer questions, but I am sure he at the very least advised me that my occupation isn’t good enough for him to answer any questions I have. So at the very least he is prejudice against anyone who doesn’t have a certain amount of money, or a certain occupation. He’s also provided a contract without full disclosure, and when I refused to sign it, he provided me with a non renewal notice. He’s unethical at very best, and engages in retaliatory behavior, which is the same as at least that client, who’s had multiple fire safety and minimum housing code violations, those 8 were in my unit only, and it was 9, until I called the city. Additionally, although he refused to answer basic questions he demanded I answered his. I’m not sure what decade he thinks we live in but it’s not that time anymore.

After receiving a letter from Alicia my landlord The Park of Toscano that she is refusing renew my lease in such way of retaliation. I the received a letter in my mailbox from Samantha Simpson advising that me and my 2 minor children must vacate the premises by February 13, 2021 or she would file for a writ of ejection! Then Samatha sent the same letter via email which is now the 2cd letter stating the same information from the initial letter but with added information and now receiving a 3rd letter with more added information stating I 60 days to contact my landlord my lease would automatically renew month to month unless either party gives at least a 60 day written notice of termination! Obviously the landlord had Samatha Simpson their attorney put the letter in my mailbox stating vacate the premises by 02/13/2021. So obviously there is no option for month to month with no month to month quote. Now today the 3rd letter that came and was returned to sender stating the same information again to vacate the premises by 02/13/2021. I've also been falsely accused of calling the rent office everyday when I work 16 hours a day sometime and only call the office when I need maintenance. I have reached out the the ATTORNEY GENERAL and the AMERICAN BAR ASSOCIATION and filed an official complaint for Harrasement, Discrimination and Retaliation! I am being harrased by Samantha Simpson and Alicia Hill from The Park of Toscano! How do you go home and look at your children and teach them right from wrong when you continue to harass a single mother simply trying to make sure my children which I home school have a safe place to stay during this horrific Pandemic!
