  • Contacted Brad's office trying to sell my father in laws home as we run into a snag the closing company said we would need to open a probate because of the passing of my mother in law a year earlier . Not being familiar with this ourselves I called Boyum law looking for clarification and was told Brad could meet with us on that Friday morning. My wife and myself met with Brad that Friday morning and he said he wasn't sure why the closing company would need a probate and said he would look into it and let us know as we had already signed a purchase agreement with a couple for the house to be sold on or before February 1st of 2025 as their lease is up . Granted keep in mind this is 3 weeks before Christmas so there are a few holiday days included in this time frame but after a week had passed I called Brad and he said he was still trying to get ahold of the attorney working for the closing company to see Why we would need this at all and said he needed to see a copy of the deed or title to the house so I started going through my father in laws papers and found the title to the house and delivered it to Brad on Friday he said he'd look it over and let me know on Monday morning how'd we'd proceed . Monday morning came and went no response afternoon no response thinking to myself I thought well it was Friday I dropped it off give him tell atleast Tuesday to call but Tuesday came still no reply when I called the secretary told me he would call me back never did called back was told he was in court 2 different mornings and he would call me back to no avail. Monday morning 1/6 I called the secretary told me Brad specifically told her to tell me he was in a hearing Monday morning but would call me by noon at 2 pm I finally called and told the secretary that at this point all I wanted was the title to our home back and to my amaze Brad was able to be at his Office in 20 min to hand it to me with his excuse being I got sick last week !!! In all now I've wasted 4 weeks possibly lost this buyer for our home and now less than 30 days from our deadline with not 1 question being answered. DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS MAN
  • Brad did an amazing job handling a probate property that I was purchasing. The house was in foreclosure and soon to be auctioned. The seller was working with different attorney in town that did absolutely nothing and told the seller that there was nothing he could do after having all our information for over a month. With only a week to spare before losing the house at auction, we contacted Brad and he immediately started the process and was able to deliver on everything he said he would do in a short amount time. He kept us up to date on the progress on a regular basis. Brad is down to earth and very easy to work with. I was very impressed with his knowledge and how simple he made an otherwise complicated matter. I highly recommend Brad and Boyum Law!

About Boyum Law Firm

In the "Nearby Lawyers" platform category, individuals and families in Omaha, Nebraska, who are navigating complex legal matters related to estates and real estate will encounter the Boyum Law Firm. Located at 1227 S 119th St, Omaha, NE 68144, USA, the firm provides a local presence for clients seeking assistance in these specialized areas. When considering legal representation, understanding the firm's environment, services offered, key features, and available promotional information, including client feedback, is crucial for making an informed decision.

The environment at Boyum Law Firm, while not explicitly detailed in terms of interior design or specific office amenities, can be inferred from the nature of its practice. As a firm specializing in probate and real estate, it would typically maintain a professional and organized setting. Such an environment is designed to facilitate confidential discussions regarding sensitive financial and familial matters, such as estate administration and property transactions. An efficient and accessible office space would be paramount to ensure clients feel comfortable sharing personal information and that documentation can be managed securely. The firm's focus on areas that often involve significant life events for clients suggests an atmosphere that aims to be supportive and understanding, even when dealing with potentially complex or time-sensitive legal issues. The presence of a dedicated secretary, as mentioned in one review, indicates a level of administrative support intended to assist with client communications and office operations.

Boyum Law Firm, primarily under the guidance of attorney Brad Boyum, focuses its services on critical areas of law, particularly probate and real estate. These services are crucial for individuals and families dealing with property inheritance, sales, and related legal complexities:

  • Probate Law: This is a core service, as evidenced by client interactions. Probate involves the legal process of validating a will, administering the estate of a deceased person, paying off debts, and distributing assets to beneficiaries. The firm assists clients in navigating this often intricate and time-consuming process, which can involve court filings, asset valuation, and dealing with various legal requirements. One review specifically highlights assistance with a "probate property" that was "in foreclosure and soon to be auctioned," demonstrating the firm's involvement in urgent and complex probate scenarios.
  • Real Estate Law: This practice area is closely linked to probate, especially when inherited properties are involved. The firm would provide legal counsel on property transactions, including buying, selling, and transferring deeds. The client's initial contact regarding "selling my father in laws home" due to a "snag the closing company said we would need to open a probate" clearly illustrates the intersection of real estate and probate law within the firm's services. This would likely include reviewing purchase agreements, titles, deeds, and addressing any unforeseen legal hurdles in property sales.
While the firm's website or public listings might elaborate on additional specific sub-areas within probate and real estate, these two broad categories are the most prominent based on available client experiences. The firm's capability to handle time-sensitive property matters, such as preventing a house from going to auction, indicates a capacity for swift and decisive action in certain circumstances.

The features of Boyum Law Firm and Brad Boyum can be understood by synthesizing direct client experiences. Brad Boyum is noted as being "down to earth and very easy to work with" by a satisfied client, suggesting an approachable demeanor that can ease client anxiety during stressful legal situations. This client also highly praised his "knowledge and how simple he made an otherwise complicated matter," indicating an ability to distill complex legal jargon into understandable terms and efficiently manage intricate cases. The ability to "deliver on everything he said he would do in a short amount time" and consistently keep clients "up to date on the progress on a regular basis" highlights a proactive communication style and effective case management. However, another client's experience provides a contrasting perspective, indicating potential inconsistencies in responsiveness. This client reported a lack of timely communication, missed deadlines, and unreturned calls, despite repeated attempts to get updates and answers. The claim of having "wasted 4 weeks" and not getting "1 question being answered" from this particular interaction is a significant point of concern for prospective clients. The accusation of a "lack of professionalism and poor communication" by one client stands in sharp contrast to the positive experience described by another, suggesting variability in client interactions or specific case handling. The direct phone numbers (402) 991-5410 and +1 402-991-5410 are available for direct contact.

For promotional purposes, the Boyum Law Firm would likely emphasize its expertise in probate and real estate matters, particularly its ability to navigate complex situations quickly and efficiently, as highlighted by the positive review. The firm could promote Brad Boyum's approachable nature and his skill in simplifying convoluted legal processes. The success in preventing a foreclosure auction within a tight timeframe would be a strong testament to their capability for urgent and effective action. The focus on keeping clients informed on a regular basis would also be a key promotional message, aiming to build trust through transparency and consistent communication. However, it is imperative for local users to also consider the negative feedback that is publicly available. The severe criticisms regarding communication failures, missed commitments, and perceived lack of progress are highly significant. The explicit warning, "DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS MAN," is a powerful deterrent that cannot be overlooked. Claims of unresponsiveness, excuses ("I got sick last week"), and the client feeling unheard directly contradict the ideal client experience. Therefore, while the firm may promote its strengths in certain areas and positive client outcomes, prospective clients seeking a "Nearby Lawyer" must weigh both the commendations for efficient handling of specific cases and the serious concerns raised about communication and client care when evaluating Boyum Law Firm for their legal needs in Omaha. This balanced view is essential for an objective assessment.
