Recently worked with Anne Roddy — she is a knowledgeable, sympathetic and straightforward attorney. Anne made a hard case bearable by clearly answering all of my questions / her responsiveness, in giving the exact right advice for my situation and communicating in a way so I could better understand the process and my case. My family court case was a difficult period of my life and I would have been so lost if I did not have her help. I had worked with Anne Roddy previously and also Craig Sampson — best decision I could have made and could not speak more highly of them both.
This is a review for Jennifer Crossland. I called in to get a simple prenup done. Simple, not even contentious. No stress. I was asked to pay 350 for a consulation and she ended after 30 mins. Really? Does she bill 700 an hour? Secondly, I found her rude and constantly interrupting (to the point where I had to interject 'may I finish my thoughts please'), unable to listen to what I needed. Third, on occasion I found her to be siding with the other side. 'Why would he do that?' Uh, cause I want him to? Whose side are you on? I don't know about the other attorneys, but if you get her, RUN. Hire someone with better bedside manners and empathy who values your dollar as much as she values hers.
You truly get what you pay for, especially in legal representation. And if your kids mean enough to you you won't think twice about retaining Craig Sampson. A father in a custody battle in VA can be a bad position to be in and bring low expectations regarding the outcome. Craig is the best in the business hands down. Extremely well prepared and has a court presence second to none. He will shine for you if given the opportunity. His pre-trial performance stopped the opposition in their tracks so overwhelmingly, they withdrew the case prior to the actual trial. Where they were not prepared, he was and made that day the trial. The judge acknowledged every point and legal precedent he presented. I can't say enough to truly explain his skill sets and professionalism, but you can witness it yourself. Although this is business, I will be eternally grateful for what he did for me and my daughters ensuring we stayed as one, family.
This review is for Jennifer Crossland I met with her in December for a divorce i paid her 2850.00 and after I did all the work she as of today 05-07-2025 has no update and can't even tell me what the other party wants from the divorce she used all my money and can't tell me anything but wants over another 1800.00 dollars and I can't figure out what she spent the first months ey on like 880.00 dollars for an email but can't tell me what the other party wants she has misused my money and I'm thinking I can report her to the Virginia Bar Association or something she's a horrible lawyer and I sincerely regret hiring her but I won't pay her another dollar
I'm recently divorced, it was stressful time, my attorney Mellissa Vanzile was so professional and always to the point. She was always compassionate with me, knowing I was stressed out. When we went to the pretrial hearing, Melissa argued professionally to the Judge, and we were able to get him to side with Mrs. Vanzile and myself. Through this process, my ex-wife and I are still friendly and are able to talk freely with each other, I Owe a lot of that to Melissa, because of the way she handled our situation. Also, we have a daughter, son in law and a very special Grandson. My ex and I agree they are three people that are very important. During Holiday, birthdays and special events we will be able to stand in the same room together and especially school events with our Grandson.
